malvisguy212:
Our body is the temple (church) of God. the Church was identified as the bride betrothed to Christ. Human
marriage between a husband and wife was intended to portray the marriage of Jesus Christ to the Church (body).

Matthew 5:31-32
“It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let
him give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I say
to you that everyone who divorces his wife,
EXCEPT on the ground of SEXUAL IMMORALITY ,
makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries
a divorced woman commits adultery

just as sexual sin separate us from our husband /wife. When you defile your body, you are separated from christ.
lovely analysis. You are blessed

Religion / 2 Reasons Why Cheating On Your Spouse Is Not In The Bible. by JourneytoEL(f): 7:12am On Jun 14, 2020
Cheating on my spouse is a popular term used by most people today to water down the term Adultery. Adultery is the proper term that is why it is used in the bible to describe an illicit affair between a married person and another person who is not their spouse. Spiritually, it is wrong to say I am Cheating on my spouse for the following reasons:

1. You are Cheating on God not your spouse.

Was it your spouse that wrote the commandment, thou shall not commit adultery? No. It was Almighty God as recorded in Ex 20:14 . When you commit adultery you cheat on God because he gave the law not your spouse. Heb 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

2. You are Cheating your Spirit not your spouse.

Man is a spirit being. We only bear our mortal body on this earth. The moment we die, we take our spirit form to eternity. Adultery, as well as every other sexual immorality is a sin of the flesh. When you commit adultery, you satisfy your flesh (body) and your spirit suffers the risk of eternal damnation. When you commit adultery, you open your soul to attacks of the evil one. When you commit adultery, your soul suffers been separated from God who should be your first love till you repent and resolve not to do it again.
My wife is fat and quarelsome is not an excuse on that day. I did it to avenge my husband's adulterous act is also not an excuse.
Committing adultery will not make your spouse go to hell or suffer earthly separation from God because we all bear our sins.

Adultery as well as other types of sexual immorality is so grave that St. Paul warned strongly against it in 1 Cor 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

How to avoid committing adultery and other types sexual immorality
Adultery is one of the the greatest weapons of the devil in his arsenal. He has been on this game for centuries and with each day, he is getting better. Polyamorous marriages and having side pieces is almost a norm and many Christians are sadly falling for this trap.

1. Denounce every sinful logic that promotes adultery.
E.g "Man is polygamous by nature", "a woman can't be eating the same soup every day", "a side chick saves marriage", "Solomon had many concubines" ( this was under the old law and they also paid some form bride price for them). The mind is very powerful, if it accepts these fallacies then it is one step away from falling. Make up your mind not to allow your body which dies on earth be the reason why your spirit will not enjoy eternal life with God.

2. Stay away from things that introduce lust to your soul.
Be mindful of the kind of things you watch and see. Stay away from music videos, porn, songs and films that promote lust. There are zillions of them out there fighting hard to trap souls with lust. Matt 5:28 says,
But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

It is best to listen to gospel songs and messages.
Stay away from ungodly business associates and friends that encourage such lifestyle.
Don't be too close to any member of the opposite sex that is not a family member. James 4:7 says Resist the Devil and he will flee.

3. Stay away from churches that falsify the doctrine of Grace.
Amongst all the heresies been inspired by the devil, the doctrine that your past, present and future sins are covered by Grace so feel free to sin is the worst of all lies invented by the devil himself. And most Christians keep falling for it, even though deep down they know the truth, but continue because it is very convenient for their lifestyles.
Eph 5:5 says, For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

4. Read and understand your Bible frequently.
Reading, proclaiming and absorbing the Word of God is one of the most effective ways to keep the spirit of lust away.

5. Pray fervently to overcome adultery
Prayer, is the master key.

Always pray to God for the Grace not to commit adultery or fall for a temptation to commit adultery (this is what Grace does not the opposite). Pray with faith and Our Lord will answer you. 1 Cor 10:13 says,
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

If you have fallen for the sin of adultery, approach God and beg for his forgiveness. 1 Jn 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Make up your mind not to do it again. Stay as far away from your adulterous partner and remove anything that introduces lust to you. There is no repentance in the grave.

In the physical, committing adultery may affect your spouse health (HIV & STD) and emotional wellbeing. But, that is little when compared with how betrayed God feels and what your spirit gets to experience.

I end with 1 Cor 6:9-10, Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

He who has ears, let him hear

it depends on the track record of the prophetic gift of the pastor and she also needs to seek the opinion of God. my cousin that is a graduate married a guy that stopped at Jss3, everyone including her parents were insulting her for leaving a lawyer to marry a non graduate. Today, her husband is one of the biggest building materials dealers in Nigeria. He made my cousin finish her PhD and she became the youngest "Dr" in the family. she is currently a lecturer and her hubby gave her a school to run. I don't know about the whereabout of the lawyer sha but I'm not sure she would be balling the way she balling now.

be mindful of the kind of spiritual activity you do. You can end up opening a portal for a strong demon to enter that can make you have hallucinations, mental issues and even run mad. The devil is the father of lies, a demon can disguise as an angel and lie about who he is especially for baby Christians that don't have the spirit of discernment. Besides, what do you need to see your angel for, will it make him busier or more dutiful grin

Hello Sister,

You're welcome to the thread. We're glad you've been blessed here. No one can really say what you have experienced, except for the Holy Spirit. If this becomes frequent then it could be spiritual. If you're really bothered about it, what you need to do is pray about it and inquire from the Lord. I believe He will reveal the source of the problem to you.

God bless you.
thanks alot, I have prayed but no revelation so I built myself in the Word of God in ps 91

Call her privately and advise her or if you are too shy use morning devotion and generalize the issue, don't speak specifically about her, but preach on how pornography is a sinful weapon that can enslave Christians and how God hates it. Teach her the importance of keeping her eyes clean because the eyes is the window to her soul

Religion / Re: When Pastors/Christians Are Not Saved, Then Sinners/Atheists Get More Confused by JourneytoEL(f): 11:21pm On Jun 10, 2020
davidinchrist:
When it comes to Salvation in Christ, it's NOT JUST about repenting or turning away from common SINS alone, but actually TURNING AWAY from all SINS and every form WORLDLINESS altogether.

In other words, Worldliness is Sinful, and it's of the devil as much as common Sins.

Worldliness is simply the LOVE of the World and the things in it. NOT the need or the use of those necessary or useful things of the world, but the LOVE of them (i.e Money and Material things).

It's unfortunate that many Christians, even GREAT Pastors/Preachers have got no light on that yet.

They use hours to preach and exhort people on common Sins and some outward form of worldliness: adultery, fornication, seductive dressing, wearing of jewelry, etc. But would NOT necessarily major on "GREATER WORLDLINESS": the Love of Money, Love of Popularity/Honour/Glory of Men or People, and every form of Selfishness and Pride in general.

They also spend SPECIAL hours on making SERMONS about how to MAKE MONEY for themselves by preaching OLD COVENANT TITHING, First fruits, Sowing of Seeds and Making of Monetary VOWS (some don't even exist in the Old covenant), etc.

However, before Jesus declared that SALVATION had come in a Man's house back then, FIRST, here was what the man said:

Luke.19.8 - But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I GIVE half of my possessions to the poor, and IF I HAVE CHEATED ANYBODY out of anything, I will PAY BACK four times the amount."

In other words, Zacchaeus wasn't just turning away from COMMON SINS like sexual sins, fighting, murder, lying, etc. But also from a GREATER PART of Sin and Worldliness which is the LOVE OF MONEY and STINGINESS or lack of CHEERFUL giving.

Interesting, in the following verse, Jesus replied him:

Luke.19.9 - Jesus responded, "SALVATION HAS COME to this home today, for this man HAS SHOWN HIMSELF to be a son of Abraham.

In that case, MANY professing Christians, including Pastors, Church founders and all are NOT CONVERTED YET. Because their VERSION of salvation has not necessarily SAVED them from the Love of Money. But alas, they have EVEN become GREATER LOVER OF MONEY.

They tell LIES using Jesus and the Holy Spirit to PROPHESY to make money; and start living luxuriously like CELEBRITIES, using the Poor's money to build MANSIONS and resources that ONLY the Rich can afford.

One of the worst things there is MANY believers see them and say something like "Boy, what a GREAT Man of God!

No, they're NOT, they are just RELIGIOUS CELEBRITIES: NOT of the Lord Jesus!

Moreover, "unlike" Zacchaeus, I THINK Jesus would say to them:

"Salvation HAS NOT YET COME to these Houses: they should GET RID of their LOVE OF MONEY, POPULARITY WITH THE WORLD, and Wickedness FIRST":

1John.2.15 - DO NOT LOVE the world or the THINGS in the world. If ANYONE LOVES the world, the LOVE of the Father IS NOT in him.

These and others have brought DISHONOUR to the name of Jesus among SINNERS and atheists, making them worse off, without much hope of coming to Jesus to be SAVED from the damnation of Hell.

We've got to truly REPENT of all outward and INWARD sins of Worldliness to be SAVED, and TURNING AWAY from Greedy Religious Men of the World. (See 2 Thess. 3:6)

But rather follow Godly Men like Paul:

Acts 20:33 KJV
I have COVETED NO man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

1 Timothy 6:10 KJV
For the LOVE of Money is the root of all evil: which while some COVETED after, they have ERRED from the faith, and pierced themselves through with MANY sorrows.

FINALLY:

Eph.5.5 - For this you know, that NO fornicator, unclean person, nor COVETOUS MAN, WHO is an IDOLATER, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Eph.5.6 - Let NO ONE DECEIVE you with empty words, for because of these things the WRATH of God comes upon the SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE.

May Lord Jesus Give You Light.
so true..mammon is a real god that is been worshipped by many Christians globally

God will only give you what you can handle is correct, God knew Moses could handle and complete the arduous task ahead but Moses never knew he could that's why he wanted to avoid it. God created us fit, perfect and capable for life and the job ahead but in our lifestyle atimes we miss it and render ourselves useless for it. That's why the Bible always admonishes us to stay holy and pure, we should stay away from iniquities and the ways of the world. Only then will God's mercy and grace manifest in our lives and the strength we need to do the job he's placed on us be renewed daily.

The parable of talent always makes me think about favoritism. I mean why didn't God give everyone the same number of talent? Are we not the same in the eyes of the Lord? I'd get confused sometimes.
The bible says in 1 Cor 1:25, that the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom. God cannot give us the same number of talents because all of us cannot endure the same thing. Do not be deceived by the favors that comes to some specially gifted people. There are some gifts God will give you and you beg him to take it away from you. Think of it this way, God gave Chidi the gift of prophecy and his sister Toyin the gift of composing songs.
Toyin: God why didn't you give me Chidi's gift, see how popular he is and so on.
Then one day she sees Chidi looking slim, then she asks
Toyin: why are looking slim
Chidi:I am on a 21 day fasting and prayer. As a prophetic minister, God can direct me to fast for 3 days, at times 60 days and so on.
Toyin: Ahh
Chidi: At times, God will say go that mountain and pray at midnight for 7days.
Toyin: mountain ke, don't mosquitoes bite you?
Chidi: Yes they do. Infact at times snakes come to attack me but I overcome them.
Toyin:Ha
Chidi: I have been warned not to take even a drop of alcohol, listen to worldly music, I don't even watch films or eat beans sef
Toyin: you don't watch films ke
Chidi: Infact I used to see....
Toyin: abeg, no continue, I don't want your prophetic gift again, abeg I no fit do am.
Chidi: You don't know how lucky you are. Your own is just to stay in the room and be getting inspiration to sing.
Toyin: Abi oo, thank God for me

Matt 25:15 says God will give you only what you can HANDLE.

Another example, your body parts have different functions. If you say your eyes are your favourite part because you can see the world through it (just the same way you are saying God is showing favoritism) that does not mean your hands are useless. Can your favourite which is your eyes carry load? God is wise in giving us unique gift. It is that uniqueness that makes the church beautiful.

I learnt a lesson from this parable of the talent.

When you are working for someone, no matter if the someone is a fair boss or not, do your job to satisfy your conscience, prove your diligence and to please God!

The 3rd servant said "i know you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow". He was right! but all of the other servants knew what he knew yet, they both set about their assignment soon(immediately) as they received their talents regardless of the nature of their boss, to prove thier own capacity, satisfying themselves, pleasing God (which automatically translates to pleasing their master), "for if a man be at peace with God, He will make even his enemies to be at peace with him"

And so they were rewarded. The 3rd servant got the boot!

Let's be diligent wherever or in whatever job position God has placed us, "bloom wherever you are planted) while also being diligent in our self discipline, advancing our knowledge and aiming for a better and more secure standard of living attending seminars or watching on YouTube, taking up relevant courses to your chisen discipline, applying for better offers (your family is expanding on a daily you know?).

Don't struggle with whoever God has placed above or ahead of you in your career for now (they are a necessary test in your current phase of life, it's part of your growth (we grow from glory to glory remember?) Be courageous, be focused, be disciplined in managing your limited finances and time. Time us of the essence!

When the 3rd servant buried his talent, he stagnated his career, bought idleness, lost credibility, strangulated his potential. Redundant, he lost favour with God, and therefore, man.

Don't be like the 3rd servant!

It's risky not to focus on your on self. Its risky not to push yourself, it's risky to be cautious of what another man can do to you, its risky not to venture, to be too comfortable with your present state. IT'S RISKY TO LIVE WITHOUT HAVING KNOWN GOD! In Him is growth, favour, speed (real speed, I'll talk about this some other time) wisdom and understanding, forever and ever.

*Wisdom is the principal thing, in all thy getting, get understanding!

Good morning OP.

Please also explain this part of the verse that says; Those who have will be given more and those who don't have, even what they have will be taken away from them...
Gifts comes with responsibility. For instance, Jude and Kate are friends, Jude has the gift of singing, prophecy and interpreting dreams while Kate has the gift of deliverance. Jude became famous because of his gifts and became proud. Few years later, Jude started using his gifts to sing immoral songs, took up drinking and sleeping around with women. Jude got lost. Kate on the other hand used her gift to the Glory of God. She refused to allow fame or vain things get into her head, rather she used her gift to deliver trapped souls. When God sees how she has handled the gifts he gave to her, he can add the gift of prophecy and singing to her while Jude won't be able to use his again (gifts don't disappear, they only get "uninstalled"wink.
Another example, Mr Kola and Mr Tunde are community leaders, Mr Kola uses his position to give people jobs, provide water for the community, repair road, free education etc while Mr Tunde uses his to flex his girlfriends, club every Friday, oppress the poor, refuse to pay salaries etc. After some years, Mr Kola can be taken to a higher position not because he is perfect but because God has seen the effect he has had on people's lives with his little position while Mr Tunde will be brought to nought.

5. The parable of the talents can also be likened to the gift of children.
The talent belonged to the master and was given to the servant and upon his return found out that some of the
servants had doubled their talent. Children belong to God and have been given to us and when the master
returns, he will ask you what you did with his talent (children).
Some people out of selfishness decided to bury (abort) the child, denying that child the opportunity to reproduce
(double). When the master returns, he will require an account of how the talent was used.
Caution: Abortion is a serious sin and a sin unto death, no amount of crying, remorse will remove that sin.
As a result of the choice of the parents, the spirit leaves the baby's body and returns back to God,
that spirit had been deprived of the experiences of earth life, at the 2nd coming of Christ, the atonement will cover that
spirit.
NEVER ABORT A CHILD, NEVER! NEVER!! NEVER!!!
and the suffering after this life for those who have committed abortion
—how sore the suffering you know not, how exquisite the suffering you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.
wow, this is another interesting angle. Thanks for sharing.

thats nice and have gone through all points and av learned alot from them but my question is...
based on that point4...i do hear pastors say that we would all give account of everything that we have done in this life, pls i want to ask..does it involves giving account of the things we did even when we were at the infant stage and not aware of what we were doing??...and also does it involves the dirty sins that i have done maybe due to ignorance of temptation and not proud of but have confessed and cleaned off?? thats meaning does it mean that on that day i would stand before the lord and give account of all the girls i have bed with when even not married and all the poorn that i av consumed( e no go easy o, watin i go gv as excuse?? mayb i go say na research projects)....seriously i think it would be better if they are erased and not asked because they were done out of ignorance and when still in the world..
the truth is it is only someone who have died that really knows how the process will be like, but based on my knowledge I sourced from the bible and theological books, it might not be like that. Infact, your spirit already knows where it is going. If I ask you, if you die now are you going to heaven or hell, what is the first answer that comes to your mind? The bible says all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. It also says when you give your life to Christ, old things have passed away and you are now a new creature. From the moment you repent all your sins will be forgiven. But, you will be judged if after repentance you continue committing a sin continually. Consistency in sin can lead one to hell.

1. You have a gift from God

Every Christian has a gift from God and these gifts are unequally distributed. Dele can have the gift of prophecy, deliverance and healing while his twin brother Chike can have the gift of singing. Esther can have the gift of evangelism and composing songs while her best friend Dinma can be good at interpreting dreams. No matter how big or small you are you have a gift. Your position and career can also be God's gift to you and you have the responsibility of using the gift/career for the Glory of the God. Been a doctor can be God's gift to you and you have the responsibility of giving the hope of Christ to your patients in despair.

Been a lawyer can be yours and you have the responsibility of fighting for justice. Same with the actors, musicians, lecturers, graphic artists, writers, policemen, instrumentalists, and the list is endless. Even if you are great at swepping and cleaning, use that gift to work for God. Been alive alone is a gift. Your youth and health is also a gift. Ask yourself now, what is my gift and how can I use it to win souls for God.

2. Don't be jealous over your neighbour's gift.

God will only give you what you can handle.
Vs 15 says and He gave each according to his ability. God gave you your gift because in His wisdom he knows you can handle it. So, why get jealous over another's. Can you handle the cross that comes with his gift? Can you withstand the challenges he faced while growing his gift? Don't be envious of another's gift rather praise God for yours and for others too and work towards using yours for His kingdom. Remember, the spirit of envy comes from the enemy, repent of every envious thought you have ever had towards others and pray for the Grace not to do it again.

3. How you use your gift can affect your journey in life.

You have been praying for a promotion at work or more clients and when it does not happen as you wish you say, there is no God, if he exists he hates me. But, the message from God to you today is, how did you work for him with what you had.

Vs 23 says “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. The more you labour for God, the higher your elevation according to His wish. Repent from lukewarmness and pray for the anointing to work for him.

4. You will give an account one day.

Always remember that the day is coming when you will stand before His throne and give an account of how you used your gift.

John 15:2 says, He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Refuse to be he that bears no fruit today. The best time to make that decision is now. Pray to God for the strength to work for him and he will answer you.

Parable of talents Matt 25:14-31 NIV
“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, aeach according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.

So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

“The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. “

‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
