Celebrities › Re: Hushpuppi Once Sold Second-hand Clothes In Lagos – Report by joviegghead:
Hmm.
Poverty might be a catalyst to change ones situation.
But it is never a justifiable reason to defraud others of their hard earned money.

He did that. Living off the sweet and blood of others.
Hypocritically posting motivational quotes to work hard when he had no moral right or position to do so.

You sold second hand clothes. So?
Just hope his son is well taken of. The poor bit will have to live with the shame of his father.
Travel › Re: Flights Resumption: No More VIP Consideration At Airports - Sirika by joviegghead: 7:42am On Jul 03, 2020
Hmm
LOL!
He said the airport officials have the right to stop VIP with aides.
Audio authority. In this Nigeria. Is like you want the airport officials to sleep in jail.

Anyway, glad interstate traveling is already functioning, now, airlines are back.

Can we get update NYSC now pls. It's taking forever.
Sports › Re: Oladapo Adu Stranded In Cote D'ivoire After Representing Nigeria In Competition by joviegghead: 9:55pm On Jul 02, 2020
If you play chess or follow chess a lot, you'll realize chess isn't really a mainstay game in Nigeria and most African countries. Its only European countries like Russia, Norway(magnus carlsen's country) with serious chess federation and government backing that do well.
Haven't y'all wondered why we have no Grandmaster in Nigeria. In fact in most countries in Africa except Egypt.
Adu is an International Master. Look at old he is. Other countries are producing FIDE,International and Grandmasters of young ages(teenagers).
Adu shouldn't complain. He knows how it is. If you're going for a tourney, you have to sponsor yourself or find a sponsor.

Hmm.
It stank for 25 mins, and they're complaining.
What should we now say about Nigeria?

Come to Lagos, where a fish pond owner will flood the street with used, smelly water that will disturb residents for hours.. How did this even make fp. Mtcheew.
Sports › Re: 5 Worst Swap Deals In History: Sanchez & Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic & Eto'o.. by joviegghead:
Hmm. Nice one.
Let me just say this as a barça fan :
Barça's management is made up of mad people. Call me harsh, I don't care. I have said it times without number, that I see barca becoming the Arsenal of Spain. Why will you even swap Arthur(a key part of the future) for pjanic. Like it's just counterintuitive.

The club has no strategy. Just buying players and hoping for miracle. Buy players you NEED, who fit your style. Instead, they buy rubbish, and sell talents off from la masia(I can't count..)

The club is in shambles now. Griezmann wants to leave. Coutinho flopped. We're still hoping dembelé can stay fit for at least half a season without injury. All the players are old. No pace in the team. We still want to die on Neymar and lautaro matter rather than moving forward.

Barça is toxic to the career of most players. Only few can survive. Sadly, Messi is also part of the problems. Yea, I said it.

Celebrities › Re: Name One Superhero That Can Defeat Thanos? by joviegghead: 1:51pm On Jul 01, 2020
In marvel universe: Scarlet witch
She will defend thanos easily. That's if he's without the stones. Notice how she almost destroyed him until thanos smartly commanded his ship to shoot down on the field and interrupted her.
Scarlet witch is arguably the most powerful avenger(maybe captain marvel also), forget thor.

If we want to go beyond the avengers, Jean Grey is enough.

Note that there are still other people. But since, marvel haven't brought them to screen, I won't mention them.
.
In DC:
Superman will easily take thanos out. If thanos was wearing the gauntlet, a super-sun-charged superman will still take him out.
Shazam is a worthy contender. Except he's childish and thanos is a warrior.

Chai barca is really poor... They rely on Messi too much... That team needs massive overhaul
I agree. Just saw a stat.

Barça have scored 26 goals in the last 14 matches in la liga. And Messi has been involved in 20 of those goals(score+assists)

ever since Neymar left Barcelona ....even dembele + coutinho + griezman dat we wasted our money on haven't been productive as Neymar Junior.....

Sincerely speaking Neymar really helped Barcelona....and no one has replaced his role in Barcelona currently
Dembelé should have been the One.
But injuries upon injuries.

I believe his best days are still yet to come. The boy is good.

Celebrities › Re: Cassandra Owolabi Blasts Funke Akindele Shares Experience Working With Actress by joviegghead: 2:12pm On Jun 29, 2020
Hmm.
Let me rebut her claims:

Funke is just a workaholic. She's serious-minded. She wants 100%. Sometimes to get the best, strictness in workplace is best option. A free handed management mostly leads to lackadaisical attitude on the part of the employees.
So because she doesn't allow TV watching means she's evil, right?
Then corporate institutions that frown against play at work and other distractions are evil.

Workers will always find a way to make what they dislike in the employer seem so evil.

If funke is paying you for the script, give her what she wants.

In summary, they're young, vibrant men. But what have they decided to choose? This!

The future of Nigerian youths is in serious jeopardy.

Hmm.
So students should wait for how long exactly?

Funny how the lives of so many students are being kept on hold. I understand this man's concern(ion know how genuine).

But I still don't understand what you are trying to protect when virtually almost all the main sectors are fully operational despite the risks.

His suggestions tho seeming logical, isn't consistent with what's happening.

So the students should wait, until what? A cure is found?
I still hold the 'open everywhere, but everyone be cautious' stance has the best option rn.

Same thing with NYSC.
Education › How /What Have You Benefitted Since Joining Nairaland? by joviegghead(op):
This should be interesting. My own gains are quite voluminous to write but I'll try. I'm coming. Feel free to share.
BENEFITS:
1. ADMISSION: Gaining admission can be quite hectic. It's even worse when serious pressure is on you due to failing after 4 attempts. Damn! That was my case.
I needed direction, advice, anything that would help me land my dream admission.
Nairaland did! Now I'm a graduate. Without Nairaland and all the mind-rubbing, I doubt I'll be where I am.

2. FUN: The stress in this country has always taken a toll on everyone. I don't think there's any site that provides a sort of get-away feeling like Nairaland. Sometimes I just come to read comments with the guarantee I'll laugh till my belly hurts. The arguments, savagery..... It can only be Nairaland!

3. INFORMATION: Having a diverse range of information has made me fully rounded in terms several topics in life.
The pieces of advice of opinions of millions of people gives me the opportunity to pick the brains if the best of Nigerians, to pick the of the best alternatives.
As in! I'm just short of words.

Mods, push to fp. Let's see how NL can improve too.
