SportsPlayers With The Most Man-of-the-match Award In 2019/2020 Season. by joviegghead(op): 12:02pm On Jul 25, 2020
It began almost a year ago 2019-20 season is finally nearing its conclusion.

The final La Liga matches of the campaign were played last weekend and it won’t be much longer before the Premier League and Serie A are also wrapped up.

The Bundesliga season ended last month, while Ligue 1 was cancelled in April due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was announced by France Football this week that the 2020 Ballon d’Or has been cancelled, which was obviously bad news for all the players in contention to win the prestigious individual accolade, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski.

But which of these players - and, indeed, every other footballer from Europe’s top five leagues - has won the most Man of the Match awards this season?

Using WhoScored.com’s data, let’s take a look at the top 25.

Note: Players with the same number of Man of the Match awards have been ranked by their WhoScored ratings for the season.

25. Raul Garcia | Athletic Bilbao (6 MOTM awards)

La Liga’s fifth-highest scorer this season with 15 goals, Raul Garcia has helped Athletic Bilbao seal a comfortable mid-table finish.

24. Richarlison | Everton (6 MOTM awards)

How much longer can Everton keep hold of Richarlison? The Brazilian has scored 13 goals and provided three assists for the Toffees this season.

23. Gerard Moreno | Villarreal (6 MOTM awards)

Only Messi and Benzema scored more La Liga goals than Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno (18) this season.

22. Mohamed Salah | Liverpool (6 MOTM awards)

Mohamed Salah probably won’t end the season with yet another Premier League Golden Boot award but Liverpool’s Egyptian king has still been worth his weight in gold for the Reds this term.

21. Adama Traore | Wolves (6 MOTM awards)

The 24-year-old has improved massively this season and Wolves may have a job on their hands keeping hold of the lightning-quick winger.

20. Angel Di Maria | PSG (6 MOTM awards)

Angel Di Maria is 32 now but he’s still one of the world’s most effective midfielders. In 26 league appearances this season, the Argentine scored eight goals and set up 14 more.

19. Kylian Mbappe | PSG (6 MOTM awards)

In just 20 appearances, the exceptional Kylian Mbappe scored 18 goals and registered five assists.

18.  Hassane Kamara | Reims (7 MOTM awards)

Seven Man of the Match awards for the Reims left-back, who scored two goals during the 2019-20 season, is a hugely impressive return.

17. Marcus Rashford | Manchester United (7 MOTM awards)

Marcus Rashford just gets better and better. The young Manchester United forward has scored 17 goals and registered seven assists in 29 appearances.

16. Sadio Mane | Liverpool (7 MOTM awards)

No Liverpool player has received more Man of the Match awards than the brilliant Sadio Mane this season.

15. Serge Gnabry | Bayern Munich (7 MOTM awards)

The Bayern Munich ace has cemented his status as one of Europe’s top wingers this season, scoring 12 goals and setting up 10 more in the Bundesliga alone.

14. Jadon Sancho | Borussia Dortmund (7 MOTM awards)

Seventeen goals and 16 assists is an astonishing return from the 20-year-old who looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

13. Josip Ilicic | Atalanta (7 MOTM awards)

Atalanta are enjoying an excellent season - they currently sit second in the Serie A table - and Josip Ilicic, who has netted 15 goals this term, has been one of their star performers.

12. Robert Lewandowski | Bayern Munich (7 MOTM awards)

In truth, it’s a little surprising to see Lewandowski this low down the list. Bayern’s star man has scored a remarkable 34 goals in 31 games this season. Surely he deserved more than seven Man of the Match awards?

11. Rodrigo de Paul | Udinese (8 MOTM awards)

Udinese haven’t enjoyed a great season but Rodrigo de Paul’s performances have saved them from a relegation battle.

10. Nabil Fekir | Real Betis (8 MOTM awards)

In 10th place, it’s Nabil Fekir, the French attacking midfielder who has rediscovered his form and confidence at Real Betis this season.

9. Ciro Immobile | Lazio (8 MOTM awards)

Ciro Immobile is currently battling it out with Ronaldo for Serie A’s top scorer award. The Lazio forward has netted 30 goals this season - the same tally as the Portuguese legend.

8. Dimitri Payet | Marseille (8 MOTM awards)

Dimitri Payet is 33 years old now but still bossing it with Marseille in Ligue 1. The playmaker scored nine goals and provided four assists this season.

7. Kevin De Bruyne | Manchester City (9 MOTM awards)

Eleven goals, 19 assists… it’s been a brilliant season for Premier League Player of the Year contender Kevin De Bruyne.

6. Joselu | Alaves (10 MOTM awards)

Alaves survived the drop from La Liga by three points and Joselu, who scored 11 goals, deserves a large slice of credit for keeping his team in the Spanish top-flight.

5. Karim Benzema | Real Madrid (10 MOTM awards)

It’s been one of the best individual seasons of the 32-year-old’s illustrious career. Karim Benzema has scored 21 goals this season and provided a further eight assists. He thoroughly deserves his La Liga winners’ medal.

4. Luis Alberto | Lazio (10 MOTM awards)

One of five players to bag an impressive nine Man of the Match awards this season, Lazio’s Luis Alberto has scored six goals and registered 15 assists this season.

3. Timo Werner | RB Leipzig (10 MOTM awards)

The Chelsea-bound striker scored 28 goals and 33 games this season and set up eight more goals for his teammates.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo | Juventus (10 MOTM awards)

Age is just a number to the ageless Cristiano Ronaldo, who has bagged 30 goals in as many Serie A games this season.

1. Lionel Messi | Barcelona (22 MOTM awards)

But in first place, with an insane 22 Man of the Match awards - 12 more than Ronaldo, Werner, Benzema and Joselu - it is, of course, Lionel Messi.

The Argentine contributed a magnificent 25 goals and 21 assists in 32 games this season. Where on earth would Barcelona be without him. If anyone even attempts to suggest that Messi has been poor this season, remind them that he picked up more than double the number of Man of the Match awards compared to any other player in Europe.

EducationRe: What Is The Most Embarrassing Day Of Your Life In School? by joviegghead:
Hmm.
I've got like 4 experiences. . Lemme nor stress myself. I'll drop the least embarrassing.

So I had a class to attend(a joint departmental lecture). Got to the class saw a free seat. As I was placing my butt, one gal just placed a bag there. She said someone was sitting there. I asked where is the person, she said the person is coming. I knew it as a lie. So I angrily flung the bag her and sat(yeah, I'm that proud). She was shocked and angry. Few minutes later her friend whom she saved the seat for came. They were just ranting, forming American and British accent, I no answer. The drama was just hot. I just told them they could go to the lagoon and jump in it and drown. People were shocked. I mean, the girls were hot.

2 weeks later.

I went to see my lecturer. I saw these same girls sitting on chairs at the top of the stairs. I Ignored them with pride(after all, I had shown them I wasn't a push over). As I was moving down the stairs, I don't know what I thinking. I slipped from the top of the stairs and slid to the bottom. My 2 legs were split and I was in a physical awkward position. I looked up the stairs. Omo, the girls were on the floor laughing to death.

Some people around saw me too. Some sympathetic, some laughing. I don't know if was the way I slipped and slid down the stairs or the way my legs were set awkwardly.
My other 3 experiences happen that same semester. That was my worst semester, even academically.

I expect some people to start their holier-than-thou criticism of the guy now.

The way some people can project unattainable fantasy without building basic block for ideal reality is just amazing. On what will your revolution stand on? Ethnicity, religion, partisanship, sentiments? And you think it will stand. Every successful revolution starts with mass awareness which precedes mass action. The writer has done more revolution than your critique. People must start talking in unison before revolution can be successful, let all Nigerians speak with one voice against maladministration which can galvanise mass action
Why waste your your strength searching the dictionary just to spew all this thrash.
That's what happens when you read with a combatant mind. I guess you missed the Can't happen part, right?
Calm down before replying. You'll go a long way if you do.

I'm not going to criticize the length of the message. That's another wahala.
Lemme ask: How will this lengthy message affect anything at all? I mean, what substantial benefits can be derived from the creation of it?
NOTHING!

Nigerians seriously need to start placing their priorities right and quit criticism with no effect. We change things. Our actions.

The only way a swift change will ever be witnessed is through a Revolution . Can't happen. So we'll have stick to the gradual evolution

Be civil when advising ladies/people...

Many so-called prostitutes could achieve even better than her but were not given such opportunity. Did you also read about where and where she had her education?

Nobody chosed prostitution/slaying as dream career, circumstances of life pushed many into it.
It's okay if you're cool with mediocrity or creating excuses.
I know ladies who even tho from humble background, rose above their circumstances. Guys Do that a lot. But, what's the general attitude towards achievement from the opposite gender(whether rich or not) ?

You're bringing up shit like prostitution shows your myopic mindset. I was even talking about that. Off point dude.
Even with limited opportunities, an ambitious mindset will take one far. It's all about attitude.

If you wanna create excuses , continue. But success is about going beyond your comfort zone to make things happen. This lady did just that.

Is just me or are you just dull at understanding things and seeing the underlying message of my comment.

Read my comments carefully . I know there are ladies who are achieving a lot. But is it a norm? The average Nigerian lady isn't to all that. They'll rather place marriage as the ultimate goal. We need ladies to change that mentality and strive for independence.

I am citing this lady as an example for others. The same way I am going to cite any other lady lauded publicly for her achievement.
CareerRe: Meet Rukaiya El-Rufai, The First PwC Female Northerner Partner by joviegghead: 9:00am On Jul 17, 2020
Cool
Just take a look at what this lady has achieve at the age of 37. At 24 she was breaking boundaries.

Sadly so many ladies are not ambitious enough or goal-oriented. They think life is about looking good and finding a good man.

Ladies seriously need to destroy the established narrative of ladies being low level achievers.

Fake life living hoes and social media zombies should look up to this lady.

This is a good development. I'm really impressed.

I just hope there are structural frameworks to ensure this remains an avenue to enrich the country and make our economy comparatively competitive within the global play field rather than a channel for theft and further corruption.

Good job. The president is working. Don't attack me.

Btw, with the formalization of mining, how can i get into the business? It's seems juicy.

The immaturity of the guy who created this thread is astounding. You want to block her because she's calling to check on you. Probably, To avoid bad blood between both of you after she turned you down.

I actually feel you're pained and just looking for a way to cowardly fight it by avoiding her. You have feelings for her but you're just vengeful and think blocking her is the best way to go about your predicament.

Fam, step up. Keep the line of communication free from bad vibes. She isn't your enemy. She clinging to her guy but checking up on you after hurting you shows the kind lady she is... Sensible...

And one more thing: Move the Bleep on. Life isn't static. You shouldn't be.

RomanceRe: Saw A Pic Of My Gf In Sleeping Cloths In A Posh Hotel Room by joviegghead:
The only thing you can do is assume and create hypotheses and theories. Because you don't know the truth.
But, look at the facts. And see if they fit your assumptions.
You claim it was an hotel room? What if it was an actual room. You said she said it was a guy's(someone you both know) room? So? How does that translate to cheating? Surprising, she even told you.

The thing that seems to make her guilty is her not wanting you to see initially as she grab her phone. What's she hiding? Maybe she was scared of having to explain she went to see a guy and causing a stir because you're the jealous type.

The point is so many theories can be spinned from what you've said(a one-sided story), but you've convinced yourself that she cheated on you. That's exactly the narrative you're trying to paint here. Why ask us for advise? Oga, if you don't trust her, then leave her. Dont kill yourself for one girl.

Advocatmsani:
You are still the master of your fate. In as much as 1st year's G.P is very paramount in achieving one's dream honour, it shouldn't weigh you down. Graduating with a first-class degree is easier with a good start- if it doesn't get into your head along the way. My best performance was at 100 level: 4.91. I couldn't achieve a better feat in any of the remaining years. I graduated magna-cum-laude (4.65) though. It gets harder as one progresses.

My advice for you however, is to do your best and get connections. Its not what you graduate with that matters anymore in this country. I am still unemployed!
Fam! That makes us 2! Lol.
EducationRe: Can I Still Graduate With A First Class With This My 100level Cgpa? by joviegghead:
Hmm. I feel the op is scared. Lol.
Let me share what helped me hit 1st Class:

1.It was my sole primary goal.

2. I studied hard in the beginning(100 level), always going to the library. With a 4.7 CGPA at the end of the year. But I discovered a better way of studying : Smart study. It isn't about always reading. It's about reading what matters, at the right time, at the pace, comfortably. Although, there were times I still had to Jack like a madman tho.

3. Have fun. Don't be anti-fun. I wasn't really the party type. But I had other things to keep my mind refresh and happy. Play your favorite sports, watch movies, go out. Just enjoy. If you don't, you'll kill you brain cells and that's even worse.

4. Sleep. Yes. This is extremely important. Really important. Your brain has to charge. Sleep.

5. Avoid bad energy. Many people water down and speak ill on the importance of good grades. What do you expect from people with losing mindset? People desire but can't have what the desire, so they criticize their desire to feel better. Sadly, over 70% of students fall under this category.

6. The Basics can be ignored sometimes, but they always remain indispensable. The Basics are: class attendance and attention, taking notes, assignments etc. At 200-400level, I stab classes like crazy and had an unserious outlook. But I knew when to take the basics seriously. You can't do without them.

My personal advice to the op :
First class is great, but it is only a reflection of memory power not your all-round intelligence. If you can, aim for a 2.1 but still get skills to help you hustle.

Before gaining admission, I learnt fashion designing. Now, I've learnt/I'm learning graphics, programming, forex, and Spanish.

Grades gives you a chance to be heard(for a dream job) , but skills get you the job/ make the money roll in.
SportsRe: Premier League Admits Errors In VAR Penalty Decisions by joviegghead: 9:51pm On Jul 10, 2020
Hmm.
Not surprised.
VAR has been guilty of committing errors right from its inception. The reason is simple. As long as it is put under the control of humans, the erroneous nature of human is reflected in the decisions of VAR.
In other words, subjectivity rather than absolute objectivity remains.

That's why Goal line Tech is 100% accurate. Absolute objectivity.
I'm one of those who believe VAR was a mistake. If it wasn't gonna eradicate errors completely, the game should have been left intact. Errors and mistakes are part of the things that makes the game buzz. Talking Points.
Remember, Maradona's hand of God. One of the Most celebrated goals in WC.
VAR just makes the game highly mechanized. Yet, favoritism and swindles exists. Madrid and LiVARpool benefitted a lot. Barça are suffering from its decisions.
