FamilyRe: Nigeria Records 11,600 Maternal Deaths In 3 Months.......( WOW ) by joymary7(f): 11:57am On Mar 25, 2013
many privates hospital share specialits doctors with the genereal hospitals. When there is an emergency they have to wait for the specialist to finish from the general hospital or another hospital and this delay leads to death in most cases. A woman went for antenatal on tuesday and they noticed there was sometin wrong wit her baby.. They had to tell her to come back on friday to see the speciist because he works else were. On wednesday the woman gave birth to a dead baby. My point is if the hospital had its own specialist, the baby's life might have been saved. What if it went the other way round and the mother died. May God save us in this country

Pregnancy really bring up a lot of tins ooo, d early stage of my pregnancy, i craved for pepper in indomie, the indomie i eat must be dried and red because of d plenty pepper. Then i also eat sand and eat my tailoring chalk. Lol looking back on those days maked me smile

One lousy fella, wakes up and hears or manufactures some papal bulls then comes online to sing "this is igbo culture, I heard my mom say this" etc and folks like seriously believe that?

No where in igboland is such a "sick imagination" pratised please.
The real deal is if a man co-habits with a woman without paying her dowry and marrying her properly in the traditional way and the woman dies unfortunately in his house, he has to pay her dowry properly before going ahead with the funeral rite.
it happened to my dad's younger brother, he got a woman pregnant but unfortunatly she died wit d pregnancy, my uncle has to marry her dead body b4 they cld bury her, this happened btwn mbano (my uncle) and mabise(the lady). So it happens oooooo
FamilyRe: Mothers To Be - Preeclampsia And Eclampsia Can Be A Killer by joymary7(f): 8:28pm On Feb 07, 2013
nuorlah: It is not as bad as you make it seem. When people go for antenatal care from the start of their pregnancy, it would be detected and managed effectively.
i started my antenatal from 3 months and mine wasnt detected atall until the 8 month, wit the help of my mum and other specialist i was able to manage it till my 9th month b4 d operation
FamilyRe: Mothers To Be - Preeclampsia And Eclampsia Can Be A Killer by joymary7(f): 5:18pm On Feb 07, 2013
agiboma: Certainly is different in developed countries where women have a much more favorable outcome. Medical treatment is more advanced and health care practitioners are more prone to look into pre e, whereas i found in Nigeria most midwife's are not really aware of it or the serious implications associated with it.
u re right.. During my time the hospital i registered wit never took intrest in the high bp i was having. I kept complaining about my swollen legs but they kept telling me to always raise the legs up. My mum is a nurse and was always check me and she was getting very worried and took me to the hospital were she worked and tht is were i was told i had protein +++. The following day my mum followed me to antenatal and tht was the day they saw i had pre eclampsia. The Lord alone was my strength because who knws wat might have happened if my mum wasnt a nurse.

[quote author=aysometin]I suffered from Preclampsia when I was pregnant with my son.

I had been having severe headaches for weeks but ignored it, then I had my regular midwife check and after she examined me, she sent me straight to the hospital. My baby was delivered by CS the same day, I remember the Doctors and Midwives telling me that if I had not come in that day, the story could have been different lipsrsealed

Pregnant ladies, please if you have any pains or experience anything different from the normal, just go straight to the hospital. We can never ever be too careful.

I remember we stayed in hospital for close to 10 days after the birth, baby was fine but my BP refused to go down.

Still thanking God for sparing my life[/quote
10 days in the hospital after birth?? I stay only 4 days and left on d 5th day even though my bp refused to come down too, i wasnt sick and i didnt even have headache during my time.. All i noticed was tht my legs were swelling up and it got my mum concerned, i carried d pregnancy to term but i wasnt allowed to deliver on my own, i gave birth tru CS too. God alone makes all tins possible, many pple have gone because of this pre eclampsia tin, i think d best way to reduce maternal death is to educate the world on this killer sickness

blank: My 2nd son is 4 months now and i am thinking of starting him on solids. I wanted to do the whole 6 months exclusive but he is physically draining me. He eats well during the day (not too much sha) but wakes up every 30 mins to 1 hr at night. He wakes up, sucks for 10mins and then goes back to sleep. I started him on formula just before he goes to bed. It helped a little by making him initially sleep for about 3 hrs and then the whole merry-go-round resumes.

I am exhausted by not getting enough sleep and always having to carry him out of his bed etc. I am not working optimally and sometimes i transfer the aggression to his elder brother cos that one is also another handful.

Help me someone b4 i lose it.
u re not alone dear, my son too did d same tin and i started him on cow and gate rice cereal but it still didnt help, i think he wld change wen d time comes, i dont believe it is about feeding

Na people like you dey find am easy to use their sibling's kids for ritual cheesy

I repeat, for those who are too doltish to understand: Once a man marries, his immediate, most important family remains his wife and kids.

Okija_juju: Are you your brothers wife?!

If you think because of all these sacrifices you made for your brother, it gives you the right to butt in on his marriage, then I see a good beating awaiting you in the future.. A marriage is sacred. A Union between a man and his wife.. You my dear are third party, it dosent matter wether you even gave your brother a kidney in the past!!

motherhood has made me friendless..... Since i gave birth i dont mix wit pple who have nt given birth b4, i mix up wit pple who can give me informations useful in take care of my son.... Motherhood has also made me dress in a wear i never tot of b4, i now sew my cloths wit zip in front to enhance easy breastfeeding in public, i just cant see a blouse or gown in a boutique and buy it because i luv it, i muat consider if it wld enhance easy breastfeeding. Reading novels is no more for me, i usually read a lot of novels b4, i even have a shelf full of novels but wit my 5 months old son i dont even get enough sleep not to talk of reading novels. Every 5am, my son wld wake up and make sure he wakes me up. Motherhood is a very sweet and intreasting stage of one's life...infact motherhood is the best part of my life. I dont fight or quarrel anymore because i dont want to die and leave me son behind for anybody to treat anyhow
