Politics › Re: 2015: Buhari, Atiku Clash Over Procedure For Presidential Primaries by jpphilips(m): 3:19pm On Sep 29, 2014
lanrexdo: I knew that there was going to be a clash over the presidency especially that Atiku. He has nothing meaningful to offer. You cant just come from no where and claim the Ticket. The reason the merger of CPC and ACN was successful was because acn had no presidential aspirant and cpc under GMB want to add to his own vote.. So you can't just come from no where and steal GMB's dream. I guess at the end of the day, Mr Atiku will port to another party because that is what he does. He wants the presidential ticket by fire by force. It should have been GMB that should have announced first for his presidential ambition not Atiku. They want to have unlimited power, fame and wealth. That is the highest they can ever attain when you become the president of country. They have both tasted power and know how it feels. they want to continue the large life of lawlessness. That is all i feel about this so call people who wants to be Nigeria Top Boss. The only person i have seen who has a dream for this country is GMB. The rest are just bunch of senseless people who wants nothing but power and loot our already damaged economy dry.
You seem not to get, I think GMB feels his terms in the merger is somehow truncated while he nurses a little fear that Atiku has the financial muscle to bribe elected delegates, he has done it with PDP and can do it again
Politics › Re: When I Listen To Some Statements … I Feel Sad For Nigeria – Jonathan by jpphilips(m):
Mr Jonathan, your statements are embarrassing for most Nigerians, since the inception of your administration, the level of unguarded utterances tolerated from different hopeless quarters including militants is unprecedented.
Since your ruler ship, the Oval office has lost its Panache, your wife has reduced the toga and flair of your image to market women vs kunu seller discourse.

I am personally ashamed that in the committee of nations after watching David Cameron and Obama speak, I hide my face in utter disgust and disappointment when you mount the podium.

You said you are educated but there is nothing education changed in your primitive outlook and panache, they said you are dumb! I really don't want to believe that since you have made it this far,but something about you makes your presidency unappealing.

Your administration reeks of people who lie from various compasses of their mouth while insulting the collective intelligence of erudite Nigerians.
For some reasons some nitwits want you to continue till you outlive your usefulness, I have only but one vote as such I have no single power to unseat you neither do I have the financial muscle to battle in the polls with you, in the faith of the opinion of your fellow disgruntled majority.

I implore you to ride on till 2090, because you are a true blessing to a majority of barbarians who know no shame and what a true president should look and sound like,

I mean you no insult but that is exactly how I perceive you and your administration, while exercising my unalloyed constitution protected freedom of expression.

hercules07: Nigerians think like something else, we are of little strategic interest to the US, New York's GDP is 3 times our own, when you are of little use to the US, they will go moral on your behind when selling things to you, the funny thing is, the US can be a destabilising force in almost all parts of the world, but, they have always had good intentions for Nigeria.
This is the part I have been expecting, now you understand why I am so pissed with disgruntled Nigerians, bunch of ungrateful lots, in the UN national assembly, President Jonathan was so emotional begging for help but could not say a simple thank you!! to the people who sent emergency workers to fight Ebola while his doctors were on strike.
That is the stuff an average Nigerian is made of, typical egocentric, uninformed, deluded ,dumbtard.

There is no year the US doesn't contribute significantly one way or another in growing our institutions, the least challenge we have they help, but this descendants of monkeys think it is their birth right.

Cholera could have wiped a majority of the Niger deltans, who came to their aid? polio and meningitis nearly sent northern Nigeria to extinction, who intervened? USAID is the reason most of these ungrateful dumb tards have not died of Aids yet they cant show appreciation.

Tell me, when they said they will not give you Zmapp because they are not sure it is safe, is it wrong? do you guys even have sense? you want them to give you an experimental drug when it goes sour, you turn around to accuse them of exporting poison to you.
Even in the face of the whole furore, they sent you doctors who designed your quarantine system, the reason some uninfected Nigerians who went there were not infected, they educated you on contact tracing and voila!! Ebola is gone, who did you think did all these things?

God? yea, your Minister for health who is so dumb to tell you that no Nigerian has the virus just 2 days after sawyer's death, or the m0r0n Labran Maku who said Nigeria has Ebola vaccine waiting in stock, do you sincerely think or believe an Omo head like onyebuchi chukwu could come out with such ingenious plan to fight the scourge?

The US said they are not pleased with our human right records in the fight against Boko haram, is it too much to ask? on You tube alone there are loads of videos of Nigerian forces committing genocide in the North, why don't you people demand Jonathan to investigate it?
why do you need the US to sanction us before we do the right thing ie if we know the right thing?

Does it occur to you that those innocent who are killed could have been any of you typing crap? if SA can put together the Roivalk a sound equivalent of the AH 64, why will a country like Nigeria be begging for a Chinook? it is this dumb mentality that makes this country retrogressive, give us, give us, allow us, allow us, do you ever give people?

We sent over 50,000 troops to intervene in Liberia and Sierra leone over a 10yr period, did we really help them? when our dumbos were busy looting and r@ping women, that is the stuff Nigerians are made of, exporting vices to other people while waiting cap in hand for organized countries to help them.
what did our 3,000 troops achieve in Mali till date? stop and search!!, has the so called giant of Africa really helped anyone?
If Cameroon is in trouble we laugh, Ghana, we mock, Benin republic we smile, what foreign policy do we have to accommodate these peaceful neighbors of ours? ask Israel the price for having peaceful neighbors

An industrial/political synergy of Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Togo and Benin republic will give birth to a formidable hub in west Africa, but our dumb leaders think it is good to laugh at them when they are not doing fine, Ghana's re denominated economy nearly collapsed years back, did we even care?
Ebola is pushing Sierra leone, Guinea and Liberia to extinction, do we care? even if we cant send them man power, why cant we assist them with money?
By the way, Obama is busy fighting ISIS, I doubt if he has time to be joining issues, with a failed state of inept begging dumbos like Nigeria.
America is your God, Obama is your Jehovah, dumb tards!!

GuyFawkes: The whole story just doesn't add up, I don't believe the Nigerian govt intended to get any chinook helicopters, since when did it become a priority to acquire transport helicopters to fight insurgents within our borders?

The helicopter costs between $18-25m depending on the variant and modifications , the UK bought 14 chinooks for $1bn couple of years back so either used or new I doubt Nigeria would spend that much on transport helicopters when their assault rifles, fighter jets and attack helicopters are almost obsolete.
Israel does not use Chinook as their transport variant, they use Sarkosky, how will they sell what they don't have? Nigerians are too dumb to know when their Govt is lying.

millionaireman: In every country with Islamic terrorism, there are underlying political and economic causes. Locals fund the aggression before, and if ever, foreigners come to assist the aggressing terrorists. Boko Haram is like that. Stop globalizing terrorism. Or why are all countries in the world not attacked by Islamic terrorists? The Emirs and Islamic clerics under attack in northern Nigeria are those who openly condemn Boko Haram's violent method to achieve what most Muslims in Nigeria may pray for - Nigeria governed as an Islamic Sharia country. The US has been fighting Islamic terrorism all over the world all the time Boko Haram has been dealing serious blows on Nigeria. Boko Haram formed after far north's adoption of sharia criminal codes. The adoption was seen then by many as a form of protest aimed to stiffle Olusegun Obasanjo administration. However, you may wish to continue with your conspiracy theories about genesis and progress of Boko Haram. But truth is that Boko Haram was formed by Nigerians to enforce a government in Nigeria that can implement strict Islamic practices all over Nigeria. You may even wish to tell that Boko fighters are non Nigerians (as if you are addressing children), afterall, it is people like you that believe George Bush and other US right wingers conspired and unleashed 9/11 terror against theIr country, despite overwhelming evidences pointing to the perpetrators and acceptance by them.
For you to say Boko Haram is founded by Nigerians makes you an inconsequential in a serious discourse.

The first Boko leader in Nigeria was Yusuf, who converted him?

whose ideology was he selling to his numerous followers at the time?

where did he get the funding for his mass mobilization campaign in 2004?

You don't think Obasanjo must have percieved the forces behind him before allowing his sharia to fly?

Guy, you are not worth my saliva.

Thank you. It's amusing there are still people who believe northerners are killing themselves! What Boko haram is doing is systematic religious cleansing. Most of the areas been attacked are predominantly christian dominated and that's what they set out to achieve. Their mission is two-facet; to Islamise Nigeria using the northeast as a starting point and in the process, make the entire country ungovernable for the sitting president. The few Muslims who were caught in the onslaughts were the ones seen as obstacles to the realisation of their objectives and that explain why majority of northern elders had been either pro-boko haram or sitting on the fence.
what about where shiite muslims are killed living the sunni muslims behind, what do you call that?
Do you think Boko Haram operate only in Nigeria?
you guys don't get it!

Boko haram in Cameroon and Chad have a new Alias.

what makes you think Boko Haram care about Jonathan's presidency? why did Jonathan not tell the UN that Boko Haram is making Nigeria ungovernable for him?
so you know more than Jonathan on security matters abi?

Jonathan will only tell that to Nigerians because he knows they are perpetually dumb, he cannot say that on the world stage the reason he skipped it in his address.

If he made that mistake, foreign media will tear him to shreds.

The sister organisation of Boko Haram in the AQIM in sudan, do they care if Al bashir is the president?
The elder brothers of Boko Haram in the AQAP do they care about president Assad and President Al maliki?
why will Boko Haram care about president Jonathan? given the opportunity they will kill him and Jonathan has told you that, if you like install Atiku or Buhari, they will kill them too.
Have you seen Atiku's convoy in Adamawa state? or when last did you hear buhari went to Borno state? were you dead when boko Haram made an attempt on Buhari's life?

it doesn't bother you that once the US declared war on Bokoharam, our military gained unprecedented grounds?

it doesn't equally bother you that the Nyanya bomber was identified and extradited 2 days after US advisors came for chibok girls?

does it not bother you that mamman nur the UN abuja building bomber was named immediately the FBI took over the investigation?

I believe the religious cleansing part because ISIS is doing same in Iraq,

but no intelligence report has mentioned why they choose any country or region except the migration out of Afghanistan by Al qaeda due to the US presence.

Nimoomosuli: My dear brother, part of the duties and responsibilities of any sensible government should be ensuring good hygiene among the populace and that should be by 'teaching' them or canvassing proper sanitation or good personal hygiene such as simple act like hand washing. Doing so will not only safe the government from the needs to regularly deal with pandemics such as Ebola but also the entire community would be healthy as many infectious diseases are known to transmit mostly through the hands. I think the issues of poor hygiene and improper sanitation in Nigeria, which is allowing infectious diseases and others like malaria to thrive should be of concern to us more than saying someone is getting 'inebriated' that government is teaching us hand washing by inviting lethal virus.

ocelot2006: I beg to differ. Yes some warlords handed over their weapons during the amnesty, but the programme itself lasted for a few months. What followed was the systematic destruction of militant supply points and safe houses and arrest/termination of these criminals. In Delta, the JF captured CAMP 9 and where able to secure a considerable length of the swamps. PHC was even way worse. Anyone who lived in PHC in September, 2007 will tell you that the very month was the turning point in the battle against the militants and cultists. The raid in September saw the use of the just acquired Mi 35 Hinds, special forces, and JTF against these groups. Even Ateke was almost killed in a raid on his hotel. What followed next was also the seizure of assets owned by militants.
You can tell that to your Lagos fans not me who use the NAF base often, during the crisis, you had Mi 35 Hinds parked in the NAF base and we never heard, neither did I visit anywhere it dropped a bomb? Of what use is it then?

mojeer678: You still don't get it?

When you call something 'a conspiracy theory' or 'a conspiracy website', it shows your low mental level and 'extreme irrationality' of those who prefer to 'label' rather than analysing the issues confronting their worldview. If you chose to deride a 'freelance journalist' as 'highly biased' without providing the reasons for such conclusion, then you must be very confused.

If your definition of the 'real' journalists are those who like fawning over GEJ or Deziani or BRF or BAT or those rising oligarchs in the country or whoever is controlling the purses in any economic sector for your daily dosage of 'news', then I could only pity you. The media really only has but one purpose and that is to inform the public. The rest is just fluff. The ones crowding the available space have failed miserably at their job. They are owned by vested interests. And that's where independent journalists exist. They are not owned. They are not afraid of offending any establishment sensibilities which are often in conflict with reporting the truth. If a person is a freelance, does it mean that his reports are not to be taken at a face value?

Continue exposing your ignorance, it makes for some comedy in an otherwise a serious topic and you can continue with the abuses and insults. Indeed the more virulent the abuse, the more I realise that GenBuhari and I are right, since abuse is the resort of those who have no arguments.

Meanwhile, Why no Ebola pictures?

A serious question must be raised about this current outbreak - why no pictures of classic Ebola? If this outbreak is real, and this is Ebola at all, it is so radically altered from it's earlier type that it is effectively not the same bug at all. Clearly, what we are seeing with this outbreak is not normal Ebola.

Do a dated Google search of the Ebola outbreak. Set Google to only recall pictures from the last month or so. You will discover that there is not one photo of Ebola with this outbreak, with all photos of real Ebola being drop ins from past outbreaks. That is really enough to make me think that there either might not be an outbreak of Ebola, or that if there is, it is not the normal Ebola from the past. If people are dying (the latest number is 2400) it is not classic ebola doing this. At any rate, the death rates are taking an exponential curve now according to the WHO, if this is even real at all.

In light of the fact that there are no pictures from this outbreak, I would like people to consider something

Consider that even in Africa there are cell phone cameras and internet. Why no Ebola photos? In fact, Liberia and Sierra Leon are English speaking countries, so any photos posted would be listed as Ebola, in English which would make it easy to find them in English. Why are we seeing NADA? Even Al Jazeera's "Ebola, In Pictures" does not show JACK, if they really put it in pictures SOMETHING, ANYTHING should be there. Instead, there is NADA.

The fact that quarantines are now supposedly in place cannot account for the lack of photos, because a cell phone can send a picture out of a quarantine zone. Liberia is almost entirely wireless now, with almost 70 percent of Liberians having cell phones, and there are 4 cell phone companies there. Though only 7 percent of Liberians have internet, the rest can get on the web with cyber cafe's, and there would no doubt be a few in the quarantine zone, WHY NO EBOLA PICTURES THEN? If there was a disaster in progress you can bet SOMEONE, ANYONE, EVEN AN AMERICAN DOCTOR WHO WORKED THIS would have gotten a shot of Ebola out of there, with the classic symptoms. And Sierra Leon may not be as well off communication wise, but there are still more than 2 million cell phones there. Something stinks with this, reality on the ground is obviously not matching what the media is saying.

And there is another problem to address with all of this - and that is that the people in the Ebola zone do not believe there is an Ebola outbreak. One would think that if Ebola was real, that in Africa, where people still talk and rumors spread by word of mouth and almost 70 percent of the people have cell phones in Liberia that even one case of Ebola would cause such a ruckus that they would not need the WHO to tell them something is going on. The fact that the people there do not believe it is real stands as a serious red flag.

So the question is then, is this Ebola outbreak just a false flag setup for forced vaccinations?

I am seriously questioning if that is in fact the case. Millions of Liberian cell phone cams surely suggest it. All the Ebola photos that are associated with this outbreak show body bags and hospital wards with people who could be there for anything, there are no bleeding eyes and ears, no blistered arms, NOTHING showing at all from this outbreak, which if it was real should have been the most well documented and published of all. No other outbreak has matched this one in size, and no other outbreak happened with such a presence of the ability to document it. The lack of photographic proof in hard set terms is damning, it really does look like it could all be a ruse

And how can you have an outbreak THAT BIG have no confirmed cases outside of the hot zone? Quite frankly, the stories of American doctors getting cured are lies, because Ebola blows people away for months if not years because Ebola causes serious organ damage, and the doctors are already out and about, playing Tennis and Golf. They did not have Ebola.

mojeer678: New Ebola vaccine will be worthless

With 368 mutations already found, there will be no vaccine that will work. Any pushing of an ebola vaccine will be for something other than providing immunity for Ebola, and for anyone who is aware of the recent CDC bust of vaccine links to autism, that "other" is not likely to be good.
It may not even be Ebola at all, and is likely to instead be some sort of engineered hybrid.

Prior to this outbreak, Ebola had a very high genetic stability and remained unchanged through multiple outbreaks. In fact, Ebola has been so stable that it was considered remarkable for this. Why then, with this outbreak, are there so many mutations of this new type, when in past outbreaks NO mutations have been noted at all?

Additionally, this new outbreak has none of the characteristics of previous outbreaks.

There is something missing in this Ebola outbreak, and it is the bloody eyes and ears, and bleeding through the skin. This time all the bleeding is internal and nothing shows outwardly. All the bloody blistered skin photos on the web are from previous outbreaks, with this particular strain people look outwardly normal up until death and die from internal bleeding, vomiting up blood and having massive stools of black goo from internal bleeding. In this way, the new Ebola is mimicking Parvo in dogs, and I would at least tenuously bet that traditional Ebola has been merged in a lab with a different virus that is known for causing only internal bleeding, possibly parvo.

368 mutations in a previously stable virus screams BIO LAB

This is where things may go amiss. Previously, Ebola was a stable virus that could have had a predictable cure. The current strain is mutating so rapidly that if all the recorded cases were added up and divided by the number of mutations, each mutated strain would have only infected an average of 20 people. That is a phenomenal mutation rate, which will render any vaccine attempt useless.

And how could it have happened other than willful intent? The answer is obvious - a lab created this new strain, that lab did not have endless people to kill to prove their virus stable and they just let it go in live tests, out in the wild. And because it was not stable, they now have a mutating monster on the loose. That is the best explanation there could possibly be for why Ebola, which has remained stable as far back as records go, suddenly became a chameleon. This new bug is an unstable bioweapon, possibly more unstable than its creators intended.

Beware of history rewrites, which will provide plausible deniability for whoever did this.

Watch out for any news saying how Ebola mutates continuously without mentioning that prior to this outbreak Ebola was VERY STABLE, and question strongly WHY this new strain is so different from past strains, from outward symptoms, to incubation times, to mutation rates, it is all far too different for this to have happened naturally in a formerly stable virus. Someone did this and the question WHO DID THIS should be kept front and center until we get the answer. We know an American biowarfare firm was in this area "testing Ebola detection kits", I suggest people start with that.

There are very few pictures of people infected with this new strain, and none show the normal bleeding. Why?

Take a look at a google image search with all photos dated a year or more old, and compare them to a google image search of pictures dated to within the time frame of THIS OUTBREAK AND NOTICE THAT EVERYTHING OUT THERE FOR THIS OUTBREAK THAT IS RECOGNIZABLE AS EBOLA IS JUST A REPEAT OF OLD EBOLA PICTURES with anything new just showing people without any blisters.

Almost all of what we are seeing is body bags which show NOTHING, with all other pictures showing none of the classic symptoms. The picture to the left is a prime example, this man who reportedly is an Ebola victim is showing NOTHING that would indicate he ever had Ebola at all. So why is this so different? People in Africa could certainly publish pictures to the web, why then is all we are seeing is pictures of something that is obviously not normal ebola? Pictures dated to before this outbreak clearly show what ebola looks like, I challenge you to find any photo at all from this new outbreak that looks even remotely similar to traditional ebola.

The symptoms say it all:

Here are the symptoms from the current strain,
•Fever (greater than 38.6°C or 101.5°F)
•Severe headache
•Muscle pain
•Weakness
•Diarrhea
•Vomiting
•Abdominal (stomach) pain
•Lack of appetite

In other words, the current symptoms mimic the flu (except for the noted internal bleeding this outbreak has). Now for the classic ebola symptoms:
"After 3-4 days of non-specific symptoms and signs, patients typically experienced progressively severe sore throat, developed a maculopapular rash, had intractable abdominal pain, and began to bleed from multiple sites, principally the gastrointestinal tract. "

And the pictures of this current outbreak prove the classic ebola is not what we are dealing with this time around. The biggest thing in common is gastrointestinal bleeding.

Recovery times also indicate this new ebola is more like a souped up flu than ebola.

Usually, with ebola, recovery takes months and sometimes never happens completely because the liver, kidneys and other organs including the brain get damaged. Yet we see in the media pictures of ebola "survivors" that are up and about only two weeks after having it. This is not possible with real ebola, this outbreak really is more like a really bad flu than anything else.

The bottom line is that the symptoms are not consistent with classic ebola. Recovery times are too fast, and the current CDC list of symptoms does not match the old list except when the CDC combines the new list with the old list to muddy the water. Something is amiss with this, and the new vaccine can only be bogus with so many mutated variants. There is no way any vaccine can be real, we are dealing with a bioweapon this time around which makes that impossible, avoid any "vaccine" like you would the disease itself.

I will never aid your education if that is what you are looking for, it is only a fool who find it difficult to unlearn to relearn, while posting the craps Gen Buhari has been feeding you on the mutation of Ebola, an educated virologist has this to tell you;

[b]''Since viruses have such high mutation and reproductive rates, they can adapt to changing environments quite well. Indeed, since the only way they can reproduce is by infecting a cell they must be able to evolve faster the their hosts cells. If not, then the host cells would adapt/evolve to where a virus would no longer be able to infect. Cells change their surface receptors so viruses cannot attach; the viruses change their surface proteins so they can attach to the changed cell surface receptors. The viruses must always stay ahead of the evolution game. They are very, very good at this.

So, you can imagine that is nearly impossible to fully guess the number of flu strains in the world. We do have a decent handle, using genetic markers, on how many impact humans.

There are five genera of the influenza virus. Each genera has a few to numerous species. Influenza A has at least 10 different species. Species are identified by the types of proteins present on their surface, also called H and N. ''

You see my friend, to a block head like you, mutation of Ebola was strange, little wonder you think you have a conspiracy theory, to us who have common sense, we know it is normal for most viruses, now can you go pay some school fees and stop embarrassing yourself in public.

dotmanz: Men can be funny..

We want to settle with decent and beautiful girl,
At the same time, we want to be attributed with a well ambitious woman with all the degrees..
But does it actually occur to us what a lot of ladies holding a prestigious position in the society has been through?
Do we take our time to check possibilities of some rapid achievements that sets our women on that pace?
The same achievement that took a man over 6 years to achieve, a pretty lady would appear from no where and knock it silly in lightening speed.. Hahahaha..
My good friends, we really have a complicated situations at hand
If only one of those ladies we admire so desperately due to their position and achvmnets can give a sincere accounts of what they went through in terms of sexual abuses and molestation, and sometimes voluntary acts of immorality and blunder, we would know convincingly that they are of no good but cursed.

A lady confessed to have allowed a man abused her sexually just for promotion. Infact, she allowed him used objects on her just for the man to hear her *morn and scream out of her se*xual appealing pretty face of a goddess. She eventually got promoted, and that's the definition for our supposed ambitious women.

Come to the level of our University ladies, it is easier for them to pass any course than answering phone calls..
It is so bad that the ugly situation celebrates itself, it happens from time to time even at employment level, a man can afford to deny his company of a first class graduate than let a pretty but incompetent woman slip through his bosom.

This pose a huge disparity in considering the appropriate candidate for marriage. We have pretty, eloquent, matured but morally rottened, ambitious, 2.1 grade degree holders in our society.

On the other hand, we have ladies with little or average education, well reserved, not eloquent, perceived to be less ambitious, morally upright with fear of God in all they do..

The choice is ours. But only the men of wisdom know which is best for them.

Let's go back to the bases and retrace our steps..
It doesn't hide when men with experience speak

bukatyne: The problem is not marrying out of school or marrying young; we have Omotola a very typical example close to us (she married at 18)

The problem is forsaking your dreams (if you have) because of marriage or seeing marriage as a means to an end. She is saying you can be a mother, wife, grandma sef and still shake your world or do something fulfilling.

I think people miss it because they equate career & dreams into becoming a bank manager

Our dear Seun is an entrepreneur and I doubt he has a corporate office. He doesnot have to wear a suit daily to the office either.

we have people doing well in fashion, cobbling, dress making, production of stuffs, doing well in their various occupations etc.

@ Grandma in fifties, I doubt the marry in school part grin

My mum will be a grandma in her early fifties and she married out of school (But again, we both married early)
You obviously didn't read her post.

tpia1: humble beginnings dont really include trips and schooling in overseas imo. Not to mention well connected family.

Sacrifices? huh Maybe not having so much access to nigerian food overseas or or the other hand, enduring the harsh nigerian weather when not abroad.

All the aforementioned mean different things depending on social and economic status in nigeria.
Do you have a problem with English? cos if you do, I will be glad to type in pigeon

MsNas: Sorry if I sound harsh, but it is absolutely not my fault that anybody's family cannot afford to pay for their education. I made my point from my own perspective and I didn't expect a gazillion lines of whines trying to prove me wrong neither did I expected to be crucified for it.

If you cared to read my post well enough, I pointed out that some women have ambitions which does not end in simply living in a man's house and popping out them tatas while some want other things including that. So what's the issue here? What don't I get?

Be aware, that you as a man, have absolutely no business with whatever I chose to do with my life and future. If I like, I have ambition, if I like I don't. so stop going all self righteous on me please. Again, I apologize if my post comes off as harsh or rude, but I see no reason why you'll just go H.A.M on my post and write that long-ass whatever you call it. Laters
You went for a masters degree because you had a sponsor right? news flash!! most families like mine will give you the first degree, how you get the rest is your problem, so before you bemoan your friends for not aspiring beyond their first degrees, be pragmatic enough to wear their shoes.

So if you were to be from my family, you should be trekking the streets of Ikeja to transamadi looking for a trainee job with your physics degree, prolly get an under paying 60k job, then save till you have enough for MSc abi? by the time you pay your bills and feed, you may forget you took up the job for an MSc program, now that is the reality for most of your classmates if you dont know, and yes there are trainee physicists i pay less than that as interns who desire a work experience.

tpia1: all the women are from rich, not poor homes.

being nigerian doesnt always automatically mean someone comes from a poor background. Majority do, but most of the VIPs do not.
''Humble beginning'' in that cotext does not conote ''poverty'', it conotes a time when sacrifices were made, a time when the shock of reality overtaking dreams and aspirations was absorbed.
Akunyili was asked in an interview why she travels to Anambra with her hubby most weekends, she said she still cooks for her husband as a director of NAFDAC, s!!ly huh!!
