davereal: Well said. The major problem is the Veto Powers and if allowed to prosecute crimes of concern to the international community as you postulated, interests will always overshadow reasons and the world would have been drawn back to 19th century. The solution to me, is for UN General Assembly to checkmate the SC or rather pressure her to refer cases like Syria, and individuals like Tony Blair and Bush to the ICC. There is a reason why the Bushes, putins and Obamas of the world are not mere world powers but super powers right? |

The devaluation of your naira has seriously affected the pricing.How much in dollars does your Travelled disburse per person that you think will affect your goods.,less than $1000 per person. Politics › Re: Osinbajo Appoints Amaechi,ogbeh,ngige To Beat Down Food Prices by jpphilips(m): 5:08pm On Feb 02, 2017 |
chyket: We don't red a Presidential task force to find out why food prices are high in a Country with an inflation rate of over 20%.The increase in petrol cost contributed significantly to the increase in prices because transportation cost is very significant in determining the price of the commodities in the market.The farmers also need to fix the prices at levels that the proceeds will be enough to purchase other commodities that they need for survival like shelter,clothing's,school fees etc.The most important step to take at this point is to tackle inflation aggressively and once it comes down,most prices will be reviewed downwards. How can you tackle inflation when the traders are greedy? give me some ideas, justify why palm oil should triple in price? Justify why prices of goods tripled when most importers get travelex for as low as 320naira to $1? justify why big companies that source for cheap forex from CBN still tripled their prices? You said they fixed prices to enable them buy other things? like seriously? who thinks like that if not a blood sucking African trader, you increase the price of Camry because range rover is expensive, this is the most bizarre thing i have ever heard. Tell me why our NLNG allocation for LPG is in Bonny where the traders abandoned it to create artificial scarcity to triple prices? Blame the Government with sense, did i hear increase in price of petrol? ok, it increased by 60%, add 60% mark up to all the commodities in the market and explain to me why people are crying. there is a reason why there is no successful Black nation in the world, Nigeria cant be an exception, Nigerian mentality is bleeped.
In sane countries, goods and services exposed to the economic change will be expensive but not the rest, only a Nigerian brain will mark up pepper or palm oil from his backyard to buy Range rover and someone thinks its ok!! mtchew!! |

They were once gotten from the military and thank God we have them back now.
AFV and tracker for where? When there's radio comms.
Compare the pictures below to the post.
That MRAP down doesn't look like it was stolen before. I'll say the military tried to maneuver after coming under an ambush attack. Boko have their AA guns, forget the ones the army sold to them, Shilka is tracked and the MRAP belongs to us according to the news. |

She took to her social media to share a viral Facebook message that pleads with Nigerians to help support the poor buy purchasing their call cards from road side vendors..
Yvonne caption it with her own personal experience, she wrote;
"I have bought airtime for almost a year now by dialing my phone because I thought the stress has been taken away. Honestly, this message just made me have a rethink. What stress could be more stressful than the fear of unemployment? I know the stress has been taken from a lot of us who hate to scratch cards to recharge but I believe this message will touch someone just as it did mines."

Politics › Re: Nigeria Will Not Quit ICC: Foreign Ministry by jpphilips(m): 12:33pm On Feb 02, 2017 |
davereal: Wow! This is good! The ICC was established on the principle of complementarity, i.e to assist national judicial systems. But in a situation where national courts are incapable and unwilling to prosecute crimes of concern to the international community (War crimes, Crimes against humanity, genocide and Crime of Aggression), the ICC can step in. African judicial systems have shawn this incapacity and unwillingness, therefore necessitating the incoming of the ICC. Western courts on the other hand, have been able to prosecute individuals found guilty of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and crimes of aggression. There is also the principle of jurisdiction and gravity. Most of the crimes outside Africa (e.g Syria) are not under the jurisdiction of the ICC as Syria is not a state party to the Rome Status. However, the Security Council can refer such case to the ICC just like they did with Sudan and Libya. But they remain adamant mostly because of veto powers interests in the Middle East. So the accusation of bias should be channeled to the SC and not the ICC. The argument therefore, that the ICC is a neocolonial tool in the hands of the Western Powers is irrational and pseudointellectual. African leaders are very despotic and prone to committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, therefore their hatred for the global Court. AU's position on the other hand is a safe face adventure to divert attention from the material to the immaterial. I disagree, the US has a SC veto but not a signatory to the Rome statute, SC is more powerful than the ICC and covers global jurisdiction, why would a country have the right to stay or leave the ICC when the SC can hand down any sanction they deem necessary to any country? The US said they have strong institutions reason they don't need the ICC, but what about weak institutions protected by the US by virtue of their SC veto example Bahrain? I think the way it should play out is this; the SC should have its own court where your summon should be decided by the super powers as it were. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Will Not Quit ICC: Foreign Ministry by jpphilips(m): 11:27am On Feb 02, 2017 |
dermmy: All these western institutions were created to enslave Africans, they are agents of neo-colonialism. It is foolish for African leaders to send our black brothers to the white men for prosecution. After centuries of slavery and decades of imperialism we still allow the whites to help us make our decision. I was annoyed when ECOWAS had to take permission from UN before they could send troops to the Gambia, can't we make our own decision without involving the white men that exploited our continent for centuries, raped our female ancestors aboard the slave ship, use them on their farms and grounded our civilization. So many white men have committed crimes against humanity but the ICC would over look it but when an African man does that they would start barking like a dog calling for his extradition to the hague, African leaders should wake up from their slumber and AU should stand up to her responsibility. God bless Alkebulan/Africa No regional block supersedes the Authority of the UNSC, unless you want to lose your country and your president in mysterious circumstances, if in doubt, ask Saddam Hussein |

Always confused with foreign policies, other nations can do as they like but we don't have the privilege, now AU our continental block is pushing for withdrawal so we can rely more on AU and ECOWAS courts absent western influence, the US and UK donating prisons for African leaders are no signatories, they can strike at any country in the world without consequences yet the dundee Onyema feels it was just about how we entered never sees the bigger picture, anyways, was he not the Mofo that supported Hillary clinton? was he not the Ode that advised the use of military force in Gambia in a recessive economy instead of supporting Senegal tactically, never mind that ECOWAS never came to our aid in the fight against Boko haram. bloody block head!! |

NLNG for the first time in history, delivered gas by themselves to lagos because the unscrupulous dead brain traders refused to pick their allocation to push up prices, Nigeria is a jungle where the black man is a cannibal looking for flesh to feed on. The forex Auction of September pushed the CBN to auction $4b apparently for christmas shopping and Sept school fees, the BDC operators took it straight to the black market till the DSS started hunting them like rats, tell me is this a country that wants change?
