jmoore: Current inflation in Nigeria has nothing to do with much money in circulation.
Nigeria is experiencing cost push inflation which is caused by naira devaluation and subsidy removal by Tinubu.
CBN under Cardoso is a disaster. You keep increasing interest rates to combat inflation but inflation keeps increasing.
How will increase in interest rate make petrol price to drop to 400 naira per liter or make 1 dollar to be sold at 700 naira?
Cardoso is not the problem. He inherited huge problems. The naira was artificially propped up under the last administration - the present one simply removed the levees and the dams broke. How do you explain all those billions being owed to foreign companies while lying to the world we had money in foreign reserves? Cardoso simply paid those money, squeezing dollar of out of the economy in the process. It was this or risk losing those companies and kissing FDI bye bye. But the man on the street thinks "floating" is why the naira crashed.
LocalFARMERS: Vegetable Pie is a rare snack. Since meat pie is not healthy for some group of persons who are vegetarians. Vegetable Pie is a good is a Pie that is good for both vegetarians and none vegetarians.
Lionnation: so what is the reason for voting known bad character that sure was going to hurt not just you but everyone else
"Known bad character" is subjective. There are people who reasoned that "all politicians are bad characters anyway. I will vote for Tinubu because he did good work in Lagos. Bla. Bla. Bla." People who genuinely believed he could run Nigeria well.
Lionnation: the issue is not about campaign for any party is about knowing what will hurt your future and you go ahead and do it just to spite your neighbor
Voted APC = fact That he voted to spite you = non-fact
Mercenary123: . Look at this eediioott that was all over this forum campaigning for APC and maligning igbos for opposing the calamitous tinubu
You never see anything self, very soon na only in the night you go dey see food chop
So if someone campaigned for a ruling party, he can't complain about the harsh economy or criticize the government? The way some Nigerians reason though.
AsgardKing: The reason why Asuw ill not win that election is because of Obaseki. Th3 two are irreversible the same as there is more sentiment connection of Asue to Obaseki than the campaign achieved. I pitied the PDP Campaign who at many times tried to distance themselves away from Obaseki but we're forced back to adopt him and his political failures again out of no choice. The election is looking to me like a referendum on Obaseki, a phenomenon that the Asue campaign stray could not address. Tried as much to make him appear like a standalone candidate, the Campaign was on a journey to nowhere at all times it seemed.
Without a doubt, it does appear that the APC is poised to win the upcoming Edo State elections. It is left to be seen how the PDP which has consistently lost membership (up to yesterday) through this campaign period will recover. I think that the PDP played a counter productive game by labeling the Senator candidiate of the APC an illiterate. That, obviously spurred him to more work around local.communities. These trickles of support from fringe communities will more than likely be more effective to give him a win than this faction of Obidients tcoming up to support the PDP candidate.
Asue Ighodalo remains a good guy but the PDP but the unpopular and poor sense of politics of Obaseki will more than anything ruin his chances at victory. I think that Obaseki has made too many enemies for Asue to recover from. In 48 hours, we will likely see a revolt against Obaseki and the extremely poor people management style of his, which keeps people away from him.
I really wanted Asue to win. The other guy just doesn't seem it. Sad about Obaseki's politics. I think Asue will still win though. Ordinary voters still matter, in spite of the loudness of party types and the financial clout of APC.
Exousiang01: I like that you used to word starting stock Again let me ask if you are aware that DRL has been refining AGO, Aviation oil etc, what do you think he has been using? You think they have not been using the stock they imported? NNPC needs to up their game because DRL is still gonna still have to continue importing crude because 380k pbd will not cut it at all
Not sure what your point is now. Of course, DRL has been using imported crude!
tefund: NNPC as a company doesn't produce up to 350k per day of crude ,the bulk of our crude is produced by IOC and a good percentage of NNPC crude is already tied to foreign loan ...
Well, they've made a commitment to supply 350 bpd. Let's see how it goes.
Exousiang01: A refinery is not an industry that will be getting raw materials in smal quantity. DRL requires a feedstock of 6m barrels to produce. Supplying him 380k bpd only means he wont even have anything in his feedstock which means DRL will still need to import crude. You are talking 380k What he needs is 6m Starting from oct 1st they wanna be dropping 380k bpd, even pepper seller dont restock daily.
You can that the last crude DRL bought from Brazil was about 20m barrels
I think you're chasing a strawman. DRL receives at the rate of 650 bpd. NNPC wants to supply at the rate of 350 bpd, over 50%. Where is the problem? If they will supply it in bulk or supply it daily and gather it like pepper, I'm sure they can easily resolve that. The issue of starting stock has long been dealt with imports and all, so why are you bringing that up?
Sonnobax15: The same meal they have been serving Innoson motors since time immemorial, they have started to serve Dangote too..... But the only problem here is that Dangote has always been a part of the problem right from onset, cuz he has been feasting on the monopoly....
Oizee: Oh my God! Highly unfortunate, still glad I didn't collect.
Possibly good you didn't. This picture (a single case that nobody has verified) proves nothing though. I mean, something else could have caused this beside the vaccine he took. Besides, these things are assessed based on numbers. How many people took that vaccine? How many of them fell ill? Of a similar number who did NOT take the vaccine, what percentage more died of Covid? These are the numbers you run to determine if the vaccine was a net gain or not.
ScarletBrace: In this case it’s not the food, because those kids are very smart at other things if you care to check. I mean other things that the school of life will demand. Speaking English is not intelligence. The environment there is the main cause of concern. Not the food. You’re more likely to churn out better engineers from that locality than professors of semantics and huge vocabularies.
Those kids will do better in algebra and calculus than better-resourced kids? Naah. Food does influence brain development. Yes, food is not the only factor, but it's an important one.
Oil Rice, Kpokpogari, 3days Akpu and Soup etc, with little Assorted meals should definitely have Influence on a child's IQ.
But there are some Adults that grew up in Villages but grew up to become Doctors, Bankers, Professors, etc.
Former Gov James Ibori for instance grew up as a Village Boy in OGhara Community in Delta State but went on to Study economics in UNIBEN.
Genetics. Outliers. You always have them. The thing is people from that doctor's village have a lower AVERAGE IQ that people from communities where the food is better.
masseratti: Crappy talks from people who don't have any idea about Lagos at all...Surulere is bigger than Magodo and Gbagada join together time 3,in Surulere you have to Good ,the ,bad and the Ugly,Magodo and Gbagada estate, let's be specific when mentioning areas are different from ketu alapere which some part of Magodo if you no sabi is part of,same goes with Gbagada estate too,you have the Gbagada itself with shomolu, mende etc , Surulere is freaking big ,from yaba to Aguda coker is Surulere, plus iganmu,Eric Moore, games village, there are alot of estates in Surulere if you want peace and quiet,if you are a fun seeker..no where beats Surulere in Lagos ..and it's the center of Lagos .. Gbagada and Magodo will do you well if all you seek is to and fro to island and Ikeja, those two are closer to Ikeja and with 3rd mainland,it's just a 15 mins drive on the bridge..no hold up ooo .but Surulere to island depending on the time ,you might use 6 hours to get to island or same to get to Ikeja, also you might use just 20mins to get to island and to Ikeja, depending on the time of the day and the traffic you facing.
Izuchukwu70: Ethanol fuel is the cheapest grade in America. As cheap as it is people don't like it or even buy it like that because it burns rapidly. I don't like it I prefer the other grades which are more expensive but burn slowly.
I hope Dangote will also be making the other grade and Nigeria will give us that option too then.
nedekid: There is nothing useless in expressing concerns. It is for people to get enlightened. I wrote here sometime back of how I bought diesel, very clear, clean looking diesel, unlike the dirty coloured ones we were used to in naija. I bought a full tank around 11pm. The next morning, left by 4.30am and I had barely driven 20km when my injector light started flashing. On Lagos- ibadan Expressway I had to turn back. My tank was drained, it was very clean, that was when I saw the diesel was not the usual dirty type we buy in naija. I found out it was from Dangote refinary. It was months later we heard the controversy of high sulphur content when that gov official supporting importation accused Dangote of high sulphur fuel. Forget how much I spent, infact after changing nozzles it did not work, some started saying brainbox, some said to change the engine and injectors to manual one. I told them to stop. Bottomline, I had to import a vehicle specific obd cable from China to diagnose the issue. It was still injectors. It was fixed at great cost. Took over a month. Lots of money lost and business cancelled, all because I filled my tank with faulty diesel. I even had to order service parts from UK at great cost to fix the vehicle. On the positive side, Dangote is a country saver, but he has to endeavour to give quality fuel.
