Fact is that the "gains" they made from the subsidy removal have been mostly wiped out by inflation. We suffered for nothing. If Tinubu was as smart as they say, he should have anticipated this and thread more carefully. The only way forward for them is to remove some more subsidy, that is, increase pump price. But nobody will accept that. So I suggest they ride the storm as best as they can (shouldn't be long now), give every support to Dangote to come on stream, and hope that helps achieves acceptable pricing.
If fuel was that highly inflammable do you know how many houses will be set on fire every single day??🔥
Fuel is that highly inflammable. I'm surprised you don't know. The type of accidents we're talking about used to be quite common when fuel scarcity was more common than it is now. There's a particular case I will never forget involving a full passenger bus on its way from Benin City to Lagos; everyone burnt to death except the driver who managed to get out. I'm sure if you go into newspaper archives, you will see a lot of cases.
Anyway, people will do what they want. Like someone said, it's difficult not to carry fuel given the issue of generator. But I think the FRSC is talking about highways journeys, not intracity.
Still too high. They simply can't afford "50%". Only solution is to put them on Band B. Or, better still, stop electricity apartheid by abolishing Band A and implementing a sensible increase for everyone.
opamoses1: It's interesting to see the porposed brown line running into Redeem and Mowe which are both in Ogun state. Then the red line connects to the NRC rail at Agbado (Ogun state) and goes all the way to Abeokuta.
Well, there'll be one to Mile 12. Support that one fes. I'm sure a future administration can be persuaded to extend it to Ikorodu. Or maybe when you become governor.
TheGift: It is more realistic for federal road safety to educate people on how to transport petroleum products safely. And also maybe provide for a maximum allowable amount.
Not in a country where most homes and offices depend on generators. Or where travellers are not sure if or where they would find fuel during their journey.
One homie made more than 30m during covid-19, I said go start something but nah! He wanted to build a house, not just a house but a standard one, he's not been able to complete the house till today and he's broke.
The problem with the people doing this is they fail to understand that we are in a different generation, the Baby boomers were the people who brought this mentality, it won't work for you Gen Z or Gen Y, your first big Savings should be used to start a business and the second savings to get a car (owing a car is good for your brand, business is all about brand now, House should come last.
money121: D0nt be broke because you are building a home.
"You've managed to save 10 million, your first big savings, but the only thing you can think of doing is starting to build a duplex in your village? Tomorrow, you'll come out and say that your village people are after your business. Don't use your first savings or business money to build in your village. The house you build in your village is a waste of money; it won't return any income. Instead, it will set your business in town back. Building a house is not like buying a car. The money used to buy a car may not affect your business because it's a one-time expense. However, the money used in building a house can close your business because you'll keep spending until the house is finished.
So.my advice to you is to not use your first money to build a house in the village. If you must do so, learn how to build according to your earnings, like the example I posted.
nikky5: Recently, I have heard a few of our fathers of faith in Nigeria preach that tithe defaulters will not make it to heaven when they die.
I will need further clarification on this because I have stopped paying my tithes for about three years now. I also believe in tithing as an old testament law. Well, I may be wrong in some ways. Can anyone throw more light on this please. I am a born again Christian.
Thanks.
Yes, they will. At least, it's a strong possibility. In the minds of tithe promoters, I mean.
Islie: By Dotun Omisakin, Lagos The Lagos state government has set up a medical team to review the circumstances surrounding the death of Akwa Ibom State…
stagger: I once tried out planting foundation maize, DK maize variety and the one known as SC (you should know who produces the last two). The yield from foundation maize beat the other two hands down after being subjected to a most adverse rainfall pattern that year, with loads of pest invasion amid NPK and urea fertilization. That was the year I swore to stick with OPV and foundation maize and ran away from these exotic brands.
Interesting. Very interesting. I hope someone will do a proper study on this, with other variables noted and controlled for, to see how far it holds.
Glimpsetv: Two men have been caught attempting to perform a money ritual using sand taken from three different bank locations.
Confessing to the accusation, they revealed that they planned to collect sand from three banks—Access Bank, Wema Bank, and UBA—for the ritual. Speaking in the Yoruba dialect, they explained how they intended to carry out the ritual.
The question is, can sand collected from banks actually be used for such purposes?
I'll miss Bichi. Dude doggedly smoked out that midget Emefiele who took the CBN as his personal and family business empire and robbed his country blind. It's now left for the prosecutors and the courts to do the right thing.
dumahi: How many universities now owned by one state and yet no notable impact. For example, even if they build a million medical universities, Tinubu will still fly overseas if he gets a headache.
oz4real83: Most sellers are just too greedy, they can fix any price they want and it is either you buy or leave it. The most painful part is that if you leave one place and go to another, the same treatment you will get, it is a union agreement . I'm even planning to buy some by September to rear for the Christmas and New Year celebrations, I have many people to give chicken to as gift, with the price these greedy sellers are doing now, it will be war in december
Bolded is a mistake. I suggest you talk to a poultry farmer to hear what's up about corn, fuel and other input. Farmers hate these increases, as they reduce patronage. The uniform price is because each market is usually supplied by the same truck and prices are agreed to avoid undercutting so everyone can remain in business. It's not some chicken seller conspiracy.
