@TheCongo 2 Please ignore the kindergarten part! I should be able to sort that out based on their rankings. Thank you jugzy: Wao! Thank you. This is a whole lot of information
What are your thoughts about Byron please? I read that the transit system isn't that great. One will need a car to run all errands. I also read that it is a good neighbourhood with good schools, and lots of young families. I however think that the rent in the Byron area is a bit on the high side, pls correct me if I'm wrong. May I also ask what your thoughts are on the Oakridge, west mount and Hyde park areas . Are there specific public kindergartens I should look out for in these areas? |

You know already about Richmond Street, I am impressed.
Anyway, I took my kids out today to get you some pics of Western University and its surroundings. To answer your question, yes you can share a room in an apartment within 1 km from the University. One way to go about it is to post a free ad on kijiji indicating that you are a WU student looking for a room starting September 2017. You will have to open an account with kijiji and it is free https://www.kijiji.ca/h-london/1700214
There is one building near the university that I would like to recommend you. The address of the building is 1235 Richmond Street. OMG, this building looks like a five stars hotel. (Please see picture below) A lot of Western University students rent into this building during the school year.
I went into the building to speak to the Front Desk lady. She told me that a student who wants to share a room in this building should expect to spend within $600 to $900 Canadian per month. There is a Free shuttle bus running from the building to the university every hour I think. The ride may take 5 to 15 minutes, depending on which part of Western University you going. The Spenser Building is located next to Western Road which is on the other side of the Western University. So, it would take you about 10 to 15 minutes with the shuttle bus.
Now, This building (1235 Richmond Street) has a website luxelondon.ca If you want to share an apartment, you can post an ad on the website under "find a roommate" http://www.luxelondon.ca/roommate-matching
For more information about the building call 519-913-3334 and ask to speak to Fernando or send a email to admin@luxelondon.ca
On a different note, there are a number of other buildings next to 1235 Richmond and they all seem to be nice. I didn't ask about the other ones given that the building 1235 seems to be standing out of the pack and it seems to be the place where I have seen many Western University Students.
If you want to call the www.clvgroup.com, don't ask them about the apartment on Wonderland Road South given that this will be too far from Western University. Instead, the clvgroup has a set of building on 939 Western Road, not to far from the University . It seems like a lot of Western University students rent there as well. I asked a resident if there is a free shuttle bus for Western University students but she told me she doesn't know of any. However, there is a City bus going from there to Western university.

Thanks a lot. God bless you. I will revert with further questions. Please don't get tired of me TheCongo2: For the most part, there are many good neighborhoods in London. London is very nice. If you want my personal opinion, I would recommend that you get in touch with this agency https://www.clvgroup.com/ and ask them if they have any apartment available on Wonderland Road South, London, Ontario. This agency own a lot of buildings around the city. When I first moved here, I rented from them one of the apartment at one of the buildings on Wonderland road south. Wow... that place was amazing.
There is only 1 police station in London, Ontario. The police station is located at the corner of Dundas and Adelaide Street. Please avoid that part of the city as it is drug infected and too many street hookers have also invaded the place. Most of the homeless shelters are located within that vicinity. |

Thanks a lot Kindly suggest the good neighbourhoods to live in TheCongo2: Getting an apartment in London was very easy for me. From my perception, there is greater supply than demand in London as oppose to greater demand than supply in places like Toronto. You can go on kijiji to check apartments in London and get in touch with landlords via pohone or email. https://www.kijiji.ca/b-apartments-condos/london/c37l1700214
As for the cost of preschool for children, Kindergarten is free. A child has to be 4 years old of age to start Kindergarten. Any child under 4 should be put in daycare. The cost of daycare may be around $50 per day. But, if you are a permanent resident, you can apply for financial assistance from the government. |

Thanks for the insights . Can you please suggest good and safe neighbourhoods where one can get apartments? This will help me narrow down my search when viewing property listings. How much does it cost to rent a two bedroom apartment in west or North London please? I gathered these areas are good. Planning to stay in a hotel for some days when I land to enable me search for accommodation in good areas with good school districts, was it difficult for you to get an apartment to rent as a newcomer in London? Can one rent a place prior to one's arrival? What is the cost of preschool for children under the age of 5; a rough estimate will do if you don't mind. TheCongo2: All I can say is that North America (Canada & USA) is the land of opportunities. Nothing can stop you to achieve what you want except yourself. I have seen people with degree in history switching to IT. So, you can do it. Just keep upgrading your skills each year by getting different certificate in IT and you will be fine. |

According to some people on Canada Visa forum, they said it is pre-PPR email. lavivaavril: Big congrats Jugzy, pls why do you think they requested for datapage, height and eye colour?
Thanks 40manlappy |

The size does not matter as long as it is legible and clear enough. I even compressed some of my docs as they exceeded the 4mb limit. They were clear enough so i don't think it should be a problem. oohunt: I have a quick question please.
Does the size of the uploaded documents matter? The scanner I used scanned at a resolution of 200dpi. The quality is not the best, it looks like a faxed document.
Should I go ahead and upload them like that? |

Question 7: In addition to what boldinc said I think you can also add letters from your clients if you have them. I read it somewhere on CIC website but I can't remember where. boldinc: 1. Yes, you should take out his work history and add to personal history. 2. You don't need to explain his source of funds. He can simply transfer to you and write an LOE. No need for gift deed since it's coming from your spouse. 3. You will not need his bank statement. 4. You could include all the statements you have access to, but the most important is the account that would have the POF he transfers to. 5. No, you do not need to include your daughter's bank statement. 6. No they do not, except they are being sold and the cash deposited in your account. 7. CAC doc should suffice and a letter from the company singed by HR if you have any or a partner. |

Hello all,
Please I have the following questions:
1. When uploading docs for pof should I also upload other supporting documents like deed of gift, tenancy agreement, property documents tht show source of fund , LOE for pof, in the POF folder?
2. I also have some areas I want to write LOE for should I merge the LOE in a single document and give each aspect clear headings?
3. I was employed with a different NOC but I have since switched departments. I have been working in the department related to the NOC I am claiming points for, for about 6 years now. I got a reference letter detailing all the units I have worked with including the ones not related to my NOC. Is this okay pls?
4. I got my bank certificate yesterday. The bank did not include credit card balance/debt as requested by CIC. I don't have a credit card though but I was wondering if CIC will accept it. All other pieces of information requested by CIC were in the bank certificate. I also have my bank statement. Should I upload the bank certificate like that?
5. I read on the thread tht I can remove my spouses's work history and include it under personal history since I'm not claiming points for it. To do this successfully, I had to click NO when asked if he has a work history. Is this ok pls?
Please excuse my plenty questions. Kindly oblige me. |
