Congrats dear Vcole.
vcole:
WOW!!!!
I just got ITA. I had no idea there was gonna be a draw today. Gosh! this feels so surreal. I only entered the pool last friday. WOW!!!

For other doctors and health professionals, I would try to give details of my process so far and I hope it would help give an idea of timelines if you need it.

So, finally decided to start the process for EE in June, 2016.
Set up my physicians apply account($278) on 18th June and commenced the SVR ($157) for my medical degree.
I sent the necessary copies (all notarized) of documents required by MCC (certified identity confirmation, medical degree, passport bio-data page, consent release form and marriage certificate) via DHL and they acknowledged receipt and uploaded to my account on 29th June.

However, I got a message at this point that the copy of my marriage certificate was cut off on one margin and so my medical degree was given an incomplete status until i sent a full copy to them. I had to send by courier again and I was so not happy about paying that DHL fee twice.

My medical degree was changed to an accepted status after they received and approved the new copy of my marriage certificate on July 21st. They sent it to ECFMG same day and ECFMG sent the verification request to my school on July 22nd.

My school received the request by September 8th (about 7 weeks after it was sent via regular post) and I paid for the reply to be sent via courier on September 14th. It was delivered to ECFMG on September 21st.
ECFMG returned my verification: passed to MCC on Oct 7th. (it took about 11 working days as opposed to 20 as advised on their site).
I paid for my ECA ($102) same day and courier fee to Nigeria ($140).
I received an email on Oct 14th from MCC notifying me that my ECA was ready. (it was issued on OCt 11th. so it took 3 working days as opposed to 21 working days as advised on the site). I received my ECA via courier today.

I created my EE profile on Oct 14th with CRS of 482 (claiming 10 points for my spouse's degree and 18 points for his IELTS).

ITA received today. Now, time to prep all documents.

Congrats to everyone who received an ITA with this recent draw and all the best to everyone still awaiting an invite, it will surely happen soon.

Hi all,

The journey that started last year May has finally come to an end. We finally landed in Canada yesterday. Glory to God as we are now officially Permanent Residents of Canada. Nothing much was asked except if we have new family members and if we have any criminal record. Even POF was not asked.

Want to wish everyone with their applications still in process all the best. For those that are still awaiting ITA and PNP, God will perfect it and finally for those who are contemplating on starting this Canadian PR journey, please start as soon as you can, you have got nothing much to lose.

I will still be on the forum to answer any questions you may have but I won't be able to answer any job related questions as we are only doing short landing. We will be travelling back home in the next few weeks as we are not planning to move to Canada permanently until the next 2 years.
Congratulations Dear. My Journey will end in praise too in Jesus Name. Amen. Congratulations again

So I stumbled on this on the internet yesterday.

Cut-off scores will "likely drop below 400" to accommodate higher draw size.
Focus on 2 mins clip between 16:30-18:30 for clarification on above points.

Hi everyone. I'm really at a crossroads. ITA with WES evaluation is expiring in 2days. CRS has. Refused to come down. Do you guys think I should go ahead and submit my application? (attach d two ECA with a detailed LOE) ur suggestions will be welcome.
Hi iphie, I think you should decline the ITA so it isn't seen as misrepresentation. Your score is pretty high and im almost certain you will get another ITA soon.

Good Morning Fam,

Please while filling the federal form IMM 5669 for background declaration what proof i'm i required to show for NYSC? will the discharge certificate suffice? Should i state NYSC as the employer or the organisation where i served? Will i require a letter of reference from the organisation even though i don't intend to use the NYSC experience as part of the years of work experience i'm claiming points for. Please help

Thanks. I called the contact in my school's record office today. She said they did receive a paper mail, but the sent the verification by email. She claims that's how they have always done it. You think WES is not acknowledging their email and wants a paper reply instead?
My school sent the verification to WES via email. I checked the online portal for about two weeks after the email was sent but the status did not change to reflect that they have received the verification. We then sent it via courier and after about 3 working days of receiving the doc, my status change to ''documents received, evaluation in progress''. i think you should send it via courier. The school should put it in their branded envelope and stamp the envelope flap at the back(please check wes website for more details about this).

Hi guys,

I received my PPR today. I've been ecstatic. Hahahah honestly grateful to you, @zandora and @jesusdway. This platform has been a very useful resource.

Thank you so much. My EE journey has been quite nerve wracking.

I'm going to use DHL as advised to send my passport. But seeing as I'm currently in the US I'm guessing I'll have to send my passport to a visa application office here in the States. The letter doesn't state where to address the DHL though...

Any pointers?

In any case, I wish everybody on this journey the best of luck.

I pray it works out well for everyone.

To those of you wanting to post the copy of your degree certificate to WES, you could scan it and email it to me so I can post it for you as it'll be faster and way cheaper - that is if you want though (I'll do it for free obviously and send u a copy of the receipt). I'm doing this to show my appreciation to those who told me to be patient in my job search and not give up because I've now landed a nice bank job grin

Hi Iphie: I paid for WES 2 days ago with my GTB master card. I was debited 66,000. I hope this helps
JesusDWay:
Don't bother sending Law school transcripts, it wont fetch you any extra marks, your school transcript is sufficient. Meanwhile, it's your present work that matters more when you are applying, not majorly the course you studied. Even if you are a practising Lawyer, you should find the equivalent of what you do in Canada, its called NOC(National Occupation Classification), that's the work your application will be based on. Your level of qualification, IELTS Grade(you must not score less than 6 in any of the segment but know that you need far more than scoring 6 if you want to stand a good chance. You should aim at scoring the highest which is Band 9 abi it's 10), Age, no of years of work experience, etc, are what your assessment will be based on. Regarding payment for WES, you can look for the option of asking someone over there in Canada or US to pay for you with their credit card while you bargain with them the naira equivalent you'll pay them provided you can get anyone of such(that's for those who needs to use the naira)
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jugzy: 12:57pm On Jan 11, 2016
It is well with you Zandora. The Lord that has started the good works in you will be faithful to complete it. Its a teething phase and it will pass as God liveth. You are a source of inspiration to alot of us on this thread ; that we are proud of you is an understatement. Take a deep breath girlfriend, God has got your back.
zandora:
The chances of you being hired are almost impossible. Even me that's in Canada I'm getting almost frustrated. So far I've had 3 interviews, each involving various stages. For the first interview (with an insurance company) I got to the final interview stage with the hiring manager, she looked at the name of the bank on my resume and asked if the bank was in Canada, I said no and she was like 'oh I thought your work experience was in Canada' and in my mind I was like is this woman for real, didn't the person who interviewed me before I got to you communicate with you? Anyway, I knew then that I wasn't going to get it then, besides they were only looking for one person out of about 50 ppl that got to the final stage so my chances were pretty much slim in the first place.

For the second interview the company wanted 12 people so I was relieved. When I got to the reception I was asked for my name to confirm my interview slot, then after I told the guy he brought out this A4 foolscap sheet filled with names, my mouth almost opened because I saw about 20+ names for that day. After the interview the lady told be that they were going to interview all week and they started interviewing the previous week so I quickly mentally did the maths and estimated that with the names I saw they should interview almost 200 ppl. Then I knew I wasn't going to get it, what even pained me more was that I suffered to read and pass that their ridiculous online tests.

The third interview was with a US based bank with few corporate offices in Canada. Their HR emailed me first and said she was going to telephone me (from the U.S) for a 30 mins interview. This time I made sure I wasn't going to leave any stone unturned because the role was juicy and the salary was really good. I jacked all the behavioural situational questions I could find, I read about the company, the role every freaking thing you can imagine so I was confident. On the day of the interview the lady called as expected, gave me a brief overview of the company and role and then she said and I quote "now to my first question, what is risk?" In my mind I'm like ehn? what is risk? Is this a joke, like are you kidding me? I wasn't expecting that line of question at all especially since the role didn't have anything to do with risk whatsoever. I felt like crying, I just mumbled whatever could pass for what I thought financial risk might be. At the end she said I'll hear the decision in a few days and that only the top 2 - 3 candidates would move on to the next stage. I asked how many stages they were and she said up to 4 stages. Now I'm still waiting for a decision but I'm not putting my hopes on it.

I have 2 more interviews coming up within this week with 2 major banks. I'm getting frustrated here but I'm not going to give up because I believe that with God and patience by my side I'll land a job soon. Sorry if I was ranting, just wanted to share my experience and relieve a bit of burden from my heart cry.

P:S - When you get here and you're creating your CV, do not include your country. This is because most companies have a preference for Canadian experience over any other country experience. When you get shortlisted and they ask where your experience was from, only then do you tell them.

Hi guys,

Does one need to show ties to Ontario when submitting the required docs for the provincial nomination? I think someone mentioned this on the thread. I didnt see this requirement on their website though.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jugzy: 10:56pm On Dec 28, 2015
Hi Yinx007; it states on WES website that the academic document request form is optional; i stand to be corrected pls.
yinx007:
come 2016 IELTS is 52k, previous charge is 40k. as for Wes you don't need to send your Waec. just Sen CD your Bsc certificate photocopy, then go to your uni and have your bsc transcript sent to Wes. make sure you print the academic document request form. it's on WES website. you also need to apply to WES first and get your WES reference number. the number would be quoted on all your documents.
I also think there is a center in calabar. check British council website. Good luck
@Jesusisdway @zandora... pls shed more light on it for him if I haven't done enough justice

Thank you so much for the prompt response. Will commence with WES and IETLS. Will also update you as progress is made. Warm regards.

JesusDWay:
No, that's incorrect. Its a six months bank statement with the current balance being the equivalent of the required amount, not that the balance must be there six months ago. You should get in addition, covering letter from the bank stating that the account is yours and when you opened it
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jugzy: 4:35pm On Dec 20, 2015
Thank you Jesusdway. Another question for you pls, if you dont mind. If i get ITA today being Dec 20, does that mean my POF should ve been in my account untouched since June 20? I read somewhere on d thread about d amount being in one's account for 6 months. Its for a family of 4.

No you won't. You can go ahead and create your profile while you work towards getting the required amount for yourself or family size as the case may be. Its until after you get ITA that you will have to submit pof, which i believe for now you may not know when that will happen. One of the advantages of having your EE profile now is that an opportunity may show up for a provincial nomination that requires one to have an EE profile which if you don't have at that moment, you wont be able to take advantage of the opportunity[/quote]
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jugzy: 1:46pm On Dec 20, 2015
Hi Guys. I want to ask another question pls? Should i wait till i have the required POF before i submit my EE entry? For example: if i get into the pool today when(time duration) will i be requires to show POF?
