Me: Apart from the fact that I was offered a GA that covers tuition waiver and monthly stipends, their mathematics and statistics offers a good research and curriculum that is in line with my career pursuit which is a pathway to achieving my career goal as a data analyst.

Then he looked at my I-20 to confirm the GA

VO: What will you be doing as a Graduate Assistant?
Me: I will be assisting the lecturer in the preparation of course materials, marking and grading of assignments and tests.

VO: who will pay the deficit?
Me: My uncle

VO: What does he do?
Me: He is successful business man

VO: Can I see a statement?
Me: Sure (I passed it)

VO: What is your first degree?
Me: Bsc Mathematics

VO: Are you married?
Me: No sir

VO: Any kids
Me: No

VO: What is your plan after studies?
Me: My plan is to return to Nigeria to resume a higher position as a Senior Research and data analyst at bleep company.

VO: I will be approving your Visa
Me: Thank you.

It's well. You should try again, but confirm that everything's in order, especially your DS 160. It seems they are more convinced when the sponsor is a direct blood relation (I may be wrong though).

In my interview I once told the VO that I will be co-sponsored by my Dad and my uncle and her body language to my response was negative.She made a humm sound and shook her head with dis-approval.She then ask what my sponsor do.
I didn't know what she meant with negative approval initially until I took time to reflect she probably meant the family may be struggling financially if just one person can't accept the financial burden.My views though! She may think otherwise.VO's decisions are subjective.

Just so you know, am having a hard time believing your "a promise of GA" statement. A VO would likely not believe it too and this might cast that tiny bit of doubt on your sponsor financial capacity to sponsor you. This tiny bit of doubt might lead to denial.

Questions like "why weren't you given the GA instead of being promised"? "What if the GA doesn't come, what would you do then"? will play in the mind of the VO.
You don't want to be seen as a potential "out of status" material if the GA doesn't come as planned

I'll suggest you don't mention that promise except you have adequate documentation to back up your claim.

You having multiple sponsors already cast some doubt on their sponsorship capacity

THESE MAKE STUDYING THIS COURSE IN THE U.S AHEAD OF ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, I WOULD BE EXPOSED TO MORE ADVANCE SKILLS IN DATA analysis AND I WOULD BE HAVING AN INTERNSHIP DURING MY PROGRAM, WHICH WOULD ALSO GIVE ME OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE SOME HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE. (no need for these )

• How will you meet these expenses?
==>I've been promised a ga upon my arrival once the vacancy is open and my mother and uncle will foot the bill till I get the GA (this is a no no… do not say you have been promised a GA position to fund your expenses in US, cos if no GA position what happens?)


There were also a lot of repetitions in the transcript and as such made it hard to follow and read.
But I think you should go through it again, streamline it down, using the pieces of advise given by others on this thread.

I skimmed through a bit and your answers seem to be repetitive. You could easily summarize them, it will save you a lot of time and explanation.In addition, your sponsorship answers need more work. Just consider the part I highlighted in your transcript. Don't forget to read approved and disapproved transcripts and learn from them.

Register and save the print out coupon page for your Sevis fee.
You will need your Sevis ID and school code from your I20

Send the coupon payment page to anyone in the US to pay for your Sevis ($200)

Step 3
Register and fill the DS-160 form

Signup for Visa appointment

Them pick a date..
Print out your confirmation page.

Tried to put it in the best way you can understand.

Even some fresh applicants are seeing far dates like aug 10 when i am seeing new dates. I am seeing june 14 even after saying i have been denied in the last 12 months

I have downloaded it but whenever I try to launch it,it opens in my Internet explorer which doesn't work well compared to my Mozilla. I thought Powerprep II is offline like the TOEFL sampler software. How do I make the software open on my Mozilla? Also, I need folks to clarify the difference between Powerprep II and Powerprep plus. My exam is on August 6th and I'm just confused about the whole stuff. I feel my preparation is adequate and I'm doing pretty well in other full test I've taken with Barron and Kaplan as well as diagnostic Tests from Princeton Review and Manhattan 5lb books. I have exhausted the Manhattan 5lb book, Official Guides (Verbal & Quants) and Princeton Review. I have watched all the Magoosh videos I downloaded from this forum. I always try to simulate the exam condition by constantly timing myself in all the practice exercises. I use 1.75 mins and 1.5 minutes for Quants and Verbal questions respectively. It has gretaly helped me and time is hardly an issue for me when I take full timed tests.

Please, I just need the clarification and working links to ets Powerprep II and Powerprep Plus if possible. I also need suggestions on other free online full test sites.

There's a Google Drive link for TOEFL materials within the thread. You would need to go through it at least from May last year, because I've tried checking but haven't seen the complete material.

I'll advise you go back through this thread to about this time last year or two years ago, and you'll be glad you did. You'll find the materials you need.
