segunbolawole: Good Day Hard working Nigerian Youths...
I've done a lot of search on schools that offers Agric Economics.
But I'd appreciate it if anyone that has knowledge about schools with good funding in master agriculture will share with me, I am sure I have not covered all schools in USA. Intended course of study is Agric/Applied/Resource Economics CGPA is 3.92 of 5.0 (B.Agric) Taking GRE soon
Thank you guys... Keenly waiting on this information I really don't know much about agric but I think you should try using Princeton review, it'll help narrow down your search to schools that matches your profile. |

Fowler12345: Hello everyone I'm new here. Please I want to ask is the standardized test important to get a US student Visa ? this is because the university that offered me admission gave me standardized test waivers alongside this, my alma mater gave me an English proficiency letter to tender on request. Yes it is for schools who asks for it, since your school didn't ask then you're good to go. The tests just have it's own Devine way of making you serious before the VO. |

calculator123: It seems you are a newbie in this thread. To answer your questions, yes you can share questions you don't understand I believe people with better understanding of can shed more light on it. You need to start reading from page 1 of this thread to understand why I am fully against sharing your WhatsApp study group link here. K |

SOPWriter: On the contrary, I think there's nothing that can be done on a WhatsApp group that cannot be achieved here.
An existing WhatsApp group (of which its members are tapped from this thread) will definitely affect the effective functionality of this thread. Moreover, did you see how much level it is impacting it already? People dropping their contacts instead of the useful information that used to be posted.
WhatsApp group is only for opportune few, and not a lasting solution to any sort of demand.
Modified: @juliouze, I noticed you brought down your most recent post. Please, understand that I am not totally against you, but I see the need for us to consider our antecedents efforts and subsequent peeps that might need the preceding rendered solutions of you and me.
Together we can, Bro! I understand bro and considering you're a senior man here, that's why i brought it down so I won't be proving my point to an erudite like yourself lol. One love bro. |

TJ0987: But if it wasn't for this same platform, would you have found your so called "study buddies"? Let's learn to act unselfish once in a while, let love lead. The valuable resources you have gained on this platform are as a result of the sacrifices of some people. Aunty read up properly before you write What is the relationship between selfishness and what we're talking about here? |

user4321: Why I'm against whatsapp groups. Whatever we share here is public, and will remain public to help whoever needs it in many years to come. Whatever you do on the whatsapp group stays there, it doesn't help anybody outside, and when the group loses any value (after admission cycle), every deserts the group, and all the valuable info is lost in Limbo. I benefitted immensely from this thread, because danjaninja, scholastica09 et al made their contributions public, and It was here for all to see. "If each one can reach one, then each one can teach one" A little altruism didn't kill anybody. Lets emulate the spirit of open source and free sharing like the west has done. That is why the world has moved forward; from github to stackoverflow to linux OS, sharing wisdom freely has made the world an easier place to navigate. Well said but I have a question as well. Can you study as a group on this platform? Where you gather questions you don't understand and ask people who know better than you do to help. That is all we do there sir and it's been helpful. |

So I was thinking, for those of us having our exams soon (mine is next month) , I'll be creating a whatsapp group where we can all share ideas and relate possible tough questions which I'm sure it'll help us prepare better, I had a friend who testified to the goodness of such idea. If you're in kindly reply this message with your contact and I'll add you up asap. |

Prettygud: I have a magoosh account to share, if you are interested, contact me.
Also I wrote my GRE today.. Twas not as I expected. As a first time taker, I thought it was just some baby exam. I start prep August, so my prep was just approximately 2 months.
The bad luck started following me from 6am today when I woke up, I stood straight to stress, not knowing the fan was not really far up, I ended up cutting my right hand finger nails into two, blood everywhere. This happened because it's not my house, I didn't know the fan was low. I went to a near by chemist to treat my self. This weakened my confidence as I could nearly hold a pen. (don't stretch if u aren't familiar with the room on the day of ur test ..) Anyways I got to the centre in abuja 8:40am, the whole check in process was carried out and we started. I have long Bern praying for 3 quants but after the incident I pray for 3 verbal( which I wasn't good at). I wrote the test with the pain. Typing wasn't easy. But I know I did well in the AWA, my topics were sweet, straight forward, already worked on similar topics from the ETS pool of essays. I should write about 700 words for each, could have written more if I could be faster.
The first verbal was difficult, then I hard I tough quants, then break, another equally tough verbal, now I knew the first should be the experimental as I didn't really do well. The next quants was lot tougher than most practice test I have taken. What surprise me was that my last verbal was equally tough as the previous ones, I assumed I did well in the previous verbal, probably that's Why I got another difficult one. Little did I know that I was joking with myself, all fantasy.
I will be having a rewrite by early December, by then I should have solved the mystery of verbal. And please I will appreciate tips on verbal because I employed all that I knew during the test.
I clicked reports score and there was my 55k staring at me on the screen.. If u register GRE for a cheap price and u are genuine, please send me ur contact.
V152Q164(316) ..
I beg coming test takers, forget the learning of big words, the GRE dosent have big words like that, its straight forward.. Learn few words, the common ones, forget advance words and Co.. U can use magoosh flashcard for.. My problem in verbal from practice yes has always been RCs which I sometime get 3 or 4 of 10, but TC and SE are good.
Stick to one material, the most important of all is the ETS materials, all the questions that fly around are not GRE like, some are extremely tougher without clues but GRE TC and SE gives u enough clues, just learn to find it in RCs too, that's my own issue for now..
For quants, ETS is also still the best.. Then u can use magoosh or Manhattan. Princeton practice test is a very close predictor of your real score.
Finally, I want to share my magoosh account for token with just 2 people, u can always have as many practice test and likely questions as u want. Magoosh Practice test for me is difficult than the real GRE. Hey bro I sent you an email |

Sammy1210: LONG POST ALERT hello guys, this post is long overdue. So i was denied a visa to the US sometime last year for studies. I can't really remember the details of the interview but it went well till the part about sponsorship (a relative was sponsoring me and the VO's countenance changed immediately she noticed it). Anyway, i deferred my admission to the fall 2019 semester and also applied to another school in a different country because i wasn't about to give up this dream of getting a good education. I got admitted into the other school and applied for a study permit to Canada while also applying for my USA F1 visa again. My dad took opened an account for my educational purpose to satisfying financial requirements this time so i wouldn't get to use a relative as a sponsor. Fast forward to the night of the US interview and i got a denial letter regarding my study permit application. I was really confused and unsettled. I was so scared. All i thought of was how I would potentially be denied from two countries in the space of 24 hours(lol). My interview at the US embassy the next day goes as follows: VO: good morning, where are you going to? Me: I am going to bleep university for my Masters degree in Construction engineering. VO: When did you finish your first degree? Me: I graduated in 2014 with a second class upper degree and proceeded for my national youth service at the ministry of works and housing calabar where i was opportuned to work with experienced engineers, and after that proceeded to work at a start up for a year before taking up my new role at BLUHT where I currently work as a construction engineer. VO: Impressive, why do you want to get a masters degree. Me: As a matter of fact, I currently work with my dad and the company is an engineering consulting firm but I'd like to incorporate construction into the company, hence the need for this degree, as I would be leading the company to another phase upon my dad's retirement. So i feel the international exposure and quality education would do me a world of good. VO: Are you the first son? Me: (trying to crack a joke) you are partially correct and wrong as i am the only son. VO: na, i am correct and you are a bit wrong (obviously laughing at this point). Me: Okay, let's agree that we're both correct and partially wrong. VO: [laughs a bit] and says 'okay, let me have a look at your financials'. Thats the last thing i need to check. Me: I handed him my dad's bank statement and pointed out to him that that account was made solely for the purpose of my education.(which it actually was) Vo glance through it for a few seconds, picks up my passport at this point and sticks a paper on it, with the amount on my i20 written on the paper. Next thing, he throws the passport into a tray(I'm staring in disbelief at this point). VO: I'll be confirming your statement, if it is found to be false, you'll be banned permanently from the US, do you want to proceed? Me: of course yes(in my mind i'm screaming!!!!) VO picks up two white papers and says the golden words to me....I'm shaking at this point and can feel serious cold. I quickly collect the papers and zoom off before anybody called me back. I paid the cab guy taking me home an extra 1000 Naira. lol. it really was a miracle. I got my visa within 4days. From a denial to Canada a day before the interview to approved to the US the very next day. I actually cried fam! So I'm typing this now from my townhouse apartment in the US and saying to you guys, please don't give up. I spent a lot of money from visa fees to application fees and now I can say every penny was worth it! I'm finally getting the education I craved for and the experience has been awesome. pls, pls, pls.....keep pushing!!! Thank you to everyone who contributed and still does on this thread. I am truly grateful. For those applying for the Spring semester, i wish you good luck! Congratulations man, this is really great. |
