zicoraads: I met this guy while I was serving. We became pretty close because we had a lot of things in common. And we were staying in the same room and finished from the same school. He told me about a business he started while in school, but due to some family issues, had to make use of the money earned and all. It sounded good, because before now, I had heard about people buying yams from Niger and Benue states and selling them off in places like the South South region at huge profits.
The fact that I was familiar with how costly and cheap yams are in these places made it seem like a very good ides to follow.
Long story short: I collected 200k from my sister and put in 300k of mine. Traveled to Niger and bought yams from a village along Lapai road. We traveled with the truck and met a guy in Effurun, whom he said was the person he always sold it to. Spent about a week in Delta state and sold everything, with the profits coming being about 200k, after expenses and whatnot. Got 300k and added to everything we had and came back to Niger to buy more.
Couldn't follow them back due to other factors that were beyond my control. Lost about 1.3 million altogether on his way back. He said he was robbed. But up till now, the news and the numbness of it never made me ask follow-up questions to the bloody pictures I saw.
I didn't quite recover from that for a long time. Kindly reply pm sir, maybe with whatsapp number. |

That was quiet painful but lesson learnt Eyaa, always give attention to security. Next time use the services of locals in that regard. |

The rate of suicide in this present government is alarming. We must get this right next year. So much frustration, hunger and poverty in the land and Buhari still came forward yesterday to announce that the economy is faring fine in his tenure, what an insult to our intelligence Jonathan was a better evil but hatred couldn’t let Nigerians see that Next year would be another opportunity to test our resolve to survive, we better use it well and VOTE ATIKU

From what I read on the NZ immigration site and quora, the work experience is for Trade qualification and not for Bachelor and masters degree holders. Anyone?

joo2018: Interesting discussion earlier between @ramj and @iamkunski. I decided to do a little bit of research before contributing.
To recap: @ramj wrote that "be informed that any work experience before min requirement for NOC is invalid...any work experience before the NOC's minimum educational requirement does not counts"
@iamkunski accepted that experience gotten during full time study does not count but quoted from here: "Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description." On this basis, he advised @JustCare who asked: "After my secondary school, I taught in a school for 2 years. Right now I'm about to be called for NYSC. Can I apply with that two years experience while also tendering my BSc as my highest educational qualifiecat?"
Points to note: 1. 3 NOC main groupings for FSW are: Skill Type 0 (zero): management jobs, Skill Level A: professional jobs that usually call for a degree from a university and Skill Level A: professional jobs that usually call for a degree from a university (here).
2.The regulation itself (here): "(3) For the purposes of subsection (1), a skilled worker is considered to have experience in an occupation, regardless of whether they meet the employment requirements of the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, if they performed
(a) the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification; and
(b) at least a substantial number of the main duties of the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, including all the essential duties.
3. Experience of a fellow Nler @DaddyTheFather (here) who was given an ADR to provide basis of being able to work in NOC 1111 (audit) as he has an engineering degree.
My thinking: 1. The Act clarifies the basis upon which work experience should be assessed even If the minimum requirements are not met. It seems reasonable that that if subsections (a) and (b) above are met, then the work experience will be accepted by CIC. 2. It is also reasonable to believe that an application will be given greater scrutiny and may be delayed when an applicant's credentials are vastly different from the employment requirements of the NOC. 3. A Secondary/High School certificate is vastly different from a Diploma, a Degree or a PG Degree and so it might be difficult to present a Secondary School certificate as the basis for an NOC A or B.
My 2cents to @JustCare: Don't try it. You will be required to put in your EE profile the date you became qualified to work in the job. I highly doubt it will fly if you put Secondary School certificate as your qualification for a teaching job. Teaching jobs are NOCs A and B. Finish your NYSC first to get the minimum 1yr working experience required. During your service, you can plan what to do to increase your points and make your Canada dream a reality. Thanks for this |

iamkunski: Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description.
The above is an excerpt from CIC's website about assessing work experience against the minimum requirement. People have always been getting it wrong, the parts that concern you in NOC classification are : Illustrative Examples, Exclusions and Main duties. You are NOT REQUIRED to meet the employement require stated in the NOC classification. So what exactly should guide one's choice of NOC. BSc, skills, work experience, duties during NYSC? Sorry if I bore you with my questions. I just want to know what counts at this stage considering numerous things one has being into in the past or currently at. |

iamkunski: This is not true. Please I'm throwing this question to you and to the house based on this your post. After my secondary school, I taught in a school for 2 years. Right now I'm about to be called for NYSC. Can I apply with that two years experience while also tendering my BSc as my highest educational qualifiecat? Would this experience match for NOC teaching skill I will choose, is it necessary to match with what you're choosing on the NOC? From my research through the timeline I aslo discovered that any work experience acquired while studying full time in the university doesn't count, any change so far? I can see people are going more to Ottawa lately, are there provinces that are accepting more than others? |

A topic worth debating Creating an enabling environment or having our own airline all boiis down to proper managerial skills. This is the psycho-industrial factor we are lacking from the grassroots to the top government echelon. Take for example, the internet farmers of nairaland. A lot of people have wasted money and gone astray because of the half-baked information some people dish out here without hands-on experience. Internet and paper plans and feasibility studies are all different from real life situations packed with experiences. So the point here is that Nigeria has always fixed square pegs in round holes. Now we have got the money, space and time but lack the willpower to go for the best of brains in the aviation industry to manage this venture, simply because some ogas at the top has been scheming to be at the helm of the whole thing from the beginning, mind you these ogas has little or no experience to function in this capacity. I don't see while a county with over 200 million people, smart people all over the world and resources can't start and maintain a common airline when countries like small Qatar et al are living huge on aviation despite their excess oil money. It's not rocket science, the managerial skills is just missing. These skills will keep missing if we don't do away with favoritism and nepotism. That's the barn of our existence as a nation. Nigeria should go into the market and pick the right persons, I can help them If they don't mind Until the government do this we will all keep moving in a circle in all sectors. We will remain this way and nothing will ever work because the ogas have refused harmony between their ID EGO & SUPEREGO (sorry for the jargons) |

Patterns asd designs of outstanding automobiles can be found in public repositories then modified to make a new stuff and patent. Cool Ambode should keep working and make sure he picks the governorship form from any party at all. We Lagosians ain't stupid. This guy has achieved in four years what Fashola couldn't achieve in 8 years. Tinubu may have his tricks but he still relies on the vote of the masses. The fate of 40 million Lagosians can't be sealed by a group of corrupt "mandate group" who we barely know their names. That's absurd, this is not growth and very unhealthy to democracy. There's nothing honorable about being a coward, if he's begged Tinubu, chased him from from one state to another, one occasion to another, sheded tears like a nursery one baby and yet Tinubu has refused to have a change of mind then I urge him to take a manly step, put up a fight like never before. His children would be happy for him, sane Lagosians would be happy for him and his name will go down in the annals of history for it When a warrior was born in a particular territory, another was born at the other side. |
