This is unfair. It should make the Frontpage! I am very disappointed with Fashola. |
WisdomFlakes:What has the age of a party run by adults got to do with the propensity to rig? Who told you that a 3 years old party that has the power of incumbency cannot control the rigging machinery of the state that they have controlled for 4 years? The audio evidence clearly pointed out the panicky mode of the PDP RIGGING opponents of APC RIGGING OFFICIALS. I REPEAT, those that feign ignorance about this fact are extremely dishonest. |
The audio presented an evidence that showed that APC AND PDP were in a serious race to rig the elections. 1. At some point, the military men that were given money at the government house by Fayemi actually disarmed the security men that were hired by PDP 2. FAYOSE called this meeting as an emergency to counter the rigging machinery of APC. He was losing to the established rigging prowess of Fayemi, so he had to call in OBANIKORO 3. The General had compromised. He had already been bought over by Fayemi, which is why FAYOSE used the influence of OBANIKORO to call him to order 4. APC goons brandished weapons and threatened PDP goons, which ensured that APC had an upper hand, which FAYOSE complained against in panic It was a race to rig past opponents in order to win. THOSE FEIGNING IGNORANCE ABOUT THESE POINTS ARE UTTERLY DISHONEST |
From the information in the audio evidence, it was a two way thing! PDP WAS STRUGGLING TO COUNTER THE ESTABLISHED RIGGING MACHINERY OF THE APC. Infact, the APC had the military men on their side. These military men disarmed the policemen that were working for the PDP. That was the reason why OBANIKORO, who was obviously the mediator, was called in to use his influence. NIGERIAN politics is all about RIGGING. If PDP refuses to rig, APC will rig to win. THOSE THAT FEIGN IGNORANCE ABOUT APC's PENCHANCE FOR RIGGING ELECTIONS ARE DISHONEST. |
There is no missing $20 billion! If $20 billion leaves an economy the way you guys are implying, that economy will SHAKE! If you are talking of 20 billion Naira, then I'll agree. But 20 billion USD? Hah! una no go kill person o! Which kain nonsense una dey talk? Where will someone that stole $20 billion dollars hide it without being exposed? Inside bedroom? SMH! |
Let's move from the Stone Age to the New Age

Adegbodolu1:Good. Just make sure that while you are in power, activate the groundnut pyramid and cocoa farming because you no go see that plenty Oyel money wey dey make you scramble for presidency. Congrats in advance. |
@OP; It will be difficult. You can only exercise your right to choose if he decides to be more like GEJ than OBJ. You and I can tell who he will prefer to be like. NIGERIAN leaders gat too much of power. The highest that will happen is riots and protests that will die down in few weeks. To many NIGERIANS, humility and civility is weakness, that is why GEJ IS SEEN TO BE WEAK. |
She took to Twitter to mock the Nigerian Military. If she was so concerned, she should have used a more appropriate channel to get a more detailed feedback, especially as she is a privileged Nigerian. Our men are dying in tge battle front, politicians are playing politics with their lives. This Oby of a woman just got me really pissed. God bless the Nigerian Army

State government revokes MoU with Igbinedion University Adibe Emenyonu in Benin City Apparently due to the report by the Independent Television (ITV) on the beating of a Catholic Priest by aides to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, which was considered unprofessional, the Edo State Government on Tuesday withdrew the accreditation of the correspondent and cameraman of the station attached to the Government House. In a letter to the General Manager, Independent Television (ITV), Benin City, owned by Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Kassim Afegbua, said: “You will recall our earlier discussion with you on the series of fabricated and adversarial reportage of issues in the state which has continued to misinform, misrepresent and confuse the people of the state. “As you know, these deliberate false reports which have become your editorial policy offend the ethics of broadcast journalism and the code of conduct spelt out by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC). “In view of the above, we are withdrawing the accreditation of your correspondent earlier attached to Government House with immediate effect.” Also, the state government on Tuesday, terminated its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Igbinedion University, Okada. Though sources close to the state government said the termination of the MoU was as result of the refusal of the institution to honour the terms of the agreement which amounted to N350 million, THISDAY gathered that it might not be unconnected with the disagreement. A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation Mr. Louis Odion made available to THISDAY, stated that part of the terms of the said MoU was that the school would pay a token as concessionary levy annually to state government for the use of the state owned Central Hospital and Stella Obasanjo Hospital for which medical students pay fees to the university. He said the revocation became necessary because upon assumption of office in 2008, Oshiomhole discovered that not only had the terms of MoU been mostly dishonoured despite being too generous to the university, no kobo had been paid to state government over the years. According to him, “Whereas the MoU in question enabled the Igbinedion University exclusive use of the facilities at the state-owned Central Hospital and Stella Obasanjo Hospital with our highly skilled personnel paid by Edo tax payers, the state-owned Ambrose Alli University was denied accreditation for medical course by the NUC and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for lack of a teaching hospital”. Recalling the historical background of the MoU, Odion stated that the agreement in question was entered into on September 1, 2006, under the Lucky Igbinedion Administration to enable the institution enjoy the use of the Benin Central Hospital and Stella Obasanjo Hospital for the practicals of her medical students. “It was part of the condition precedent demanded by National Universities Commission and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria to grant the Igbinedion University accreditation to train medical students in clinical specialities,” Odion noted. Consequent upon this circumstance, he said the Ambrose Alli University became an orphan who had to depend on the generosity of University of Benin Teaching Hospital at first, of the University of Jos Teaching Hospital and finally the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for the sustenance of its own medical course. Odion posited that consistent with the governor’s avowed commitment to the principle of probity and accountability, the state Ministry of Health in 2013 invited management of Igbinedion University to settle the outstanding liabilities as well as convey to the institution’s authority, a notification for an upward review of the annual fee to reflect current economic realities which amounted to N350 million as at 2013 at N50 million per annum which was duly conveyed to the university in writing. However, he said the university wrote back and offered to pay a ridiculous N50,000 monthly for the use the facilities, adding that all concerted efforts made since by government to make the university management to pay the debt that had accumulated over the years and also agree to the upward review of the annual charge have proved abortive. Odion therefore declared: “In that circumstance, the governor is left with no other option that to terminate the MoU in the public interest.” The Ministry of Health has equally been directed to inform the NUC and MDCN that the Central Hospital and Stella Obasanjo Hospital will no longer be made available for the use of the medical students of Igbinedion University.” But in his reaction, the Vice Chancellor, Igbinedion University, Okada, Prof. Ehosa Osaghae, said the university was yet to be informed about government’s decision. Osaghae who spoke in a telephone interview said the university has honored terms in the MoU and wondered why the state government would rush to the press instead of writing to the university, adding “I am yet to be fully informed about the decision." |
I'm just wondering, why didn't BUHARI deem it fit to bring his wife along during his campaign in the South East and South South? Why is it now that he is in the South West that he feels more comfortable to bring her along? Is he uncomfortable with the South East and South South? Is it a sign of how things will be if he wins? |
Ado Ekiti—Minister of State for Works, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye has described the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari as an unrepentant enemy of the Yoruba in the South West Nigeria. For Buhari and his party,APC to be looking for the votes of the people of Yoruba that he must tender a public apology to the people of the zone. In a statement which was personally signed by him and made available to the newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Adeyeye who reviewed all the programmes and policies of the APC presidential candidate while he was the Head of State and also the chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund, PTF, said Buhari was number one enemy of the Yoruba. “Buhari must be rejected by all true sons and daughters of Oduduwa.” Adeyeye further noted the incalculable damage the former Head of State did to Lagos State and the entire Yorubaland with the cancellation of the Lagos Metroline Project and how he bastardized the educational policy of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s Free Education Programme, He challenged Buhari to mention one single project that he did in the Southwest when he was Head of State and Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund, PTF. Adeyeye said: “Buhari did not only cancel the Metroline Project, he went ahead to pay what was enough to complete the project as compensation to the French Company that handled the project. “The idea of developing rapid transit in Lagos dated from the 1980s with the Lagos Metroline network conceived by the Alhaji Lateef Jakande during the Second Republic.” Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/buhari-must-apologise-yoruba-adeyeye/ |
With this video, I'll say Good Morning to those that called this man an agent of CHANGE for Nigeria. |
PassingShot:Okay, I wish your competent leaders luck. Lmao. |
abdulwastecx:I repeat, OBJ did not perform as well as GEJ has done in four years. I'm talking about socially, economically and politically. For example, there was also incessant loss of lives and properties during OBJ's regime, most of which were perpetrated by the security men that OBJ oversaw. OBJ levelled the Niger Delta. His boys killed, mutilated, raped and robbed at will. Then, crime rate was still high and insurgency by MEND AND NDVF existed. He couldnt stop them despite all the noise he made. OBJ WOULD HAVE WIPED THE NE OUT OF THE MAP OF NIGERIA WITHOUT STOPPING BOKOHARAM IF HE WAS IN GEJ'S SHOES. |
PassingShot:Your words in bold are false. The South South is already feeling politically cheated and that will be the foundation for a renewed agitation. THEY WILL BURN OIL RESOURCES INTO PIECES. The problem is not the North having power, it is the south south completing their own 8 years. To them, there seems to be a grand gangup going on against them, led by the North and SouthWest. That is a ticking time bomb that may explode. |
trillville:You didn't waste your time. You made your point clearly, but I don't agree with you. |
barcanista:Barcanista, you are not from the south south. It is quite glaring. |
Abagworo:How is this different from what I said? Is the effort not being sabotaged? |
Sloan:Try to be less insolent, trust me, you can still make your point that way. Is ROCHAS not IGBO? Is Ngige not IGBO? So what is it with you being stereotypical about Igbos on this issue? With GEJ, there is more good than PAST LEADERS OFFERED. Buhari included. |
Sloan:I called it political DYNAMCS. It goes beyond a consideration of voting percentage within the South East. See, it is not as simplistic as you are implying. It is currently possible for south easterners to significantly exert their influence in the North, West and South. That is the current reality. Politicians don't joke with that. |
LRNZH:That is your view. Obj did not perform better than GEJ in 8 years, and you did not have any real political right to determine your leaders during his tenure. So, even if you wanted him out, you were politically handicapped. No thanks to his mass disenfranchisement. The very man, GEJ, whose achievement you are trying to degrade, gave you that bragging right. That is just one achievement out of many. |
IGBOSON1:I'm talking about current political dynamics. Nigeria has evolved beyond the political era you are referring to. There has been a paradigm shift. In this era, ignoring the south east is political suicide. Infact, the SE has grown to exert influence in political spheres outside the SE. |
Rawani:Do your calculation properly, the South East stands a better chance in APC THAN PDP. We are just more inclined to progress than pursuit of leadership. As you rightly implied, the South East is the most self-sustaining region in Nigeria. Take leadership from the SE, it still stands strong and progressive. Same cannot be said about other regions. |
IGBOSON1:In terms of SOUTH EAST'S political advantage, we stand a greater chance of grabbing the presidency in APC than in PDP. That is the honest truth. But, it is actually not always about power. It is about progress. NIGERIAN politics is not complete without the South East bloc. The land is small, but the people are enormous and influential. Except the military takes over, it will be political suicide for any president to do what you just outlined above. Even if they succeed in doing that, it is Nigeria's loss. |
tit:Wait till he gets what he wants. Is it not politics again? Lmao |
LRNZH:BUT OBJ did not perform as much as GEJ in his first tenure, why were you happy to give him another four years? Funny dude. |
Rawani:I am from the SOUTH EAST. The SOUTH EAST "cannot" be relegated to the background in NIGERIAN political affairs, no matter how much you try. So, I am absolutely fine with whoever emerges. However, you echoed my exact view about the South South being in poo if they lose. |
LRNZH:If we are to be factual and objective, you'll see that GEJ has actually performed better than past governments. You guys are fond of holding him responsible for the Boko Haram carnage, but those responsible for BOKO HARAM are acting out a well scripted plan to ensure that their interests prevail. If you think that Buhari will have a violence free leadership if he succeeds to win, then you need to seriously think again. OBJ, with all his gra gra could not handle the NIGER DELTA MILITANTS due to the nature of the conflict. BOKO HARAM will end when NIGERIANS decide to end it together and foster unity. GEJ, OBJ OR BUHARI CANNOT HANDLE AN INTERNAL AGGRESSION THAT IS BASED ON ETHNO-RELIGIOUS OR REGIONAL OBJECTIVES AND BACKED BY POLITICAL INTERESTS. When was power ever stable in Nigeria? It took decades to destroy it, it will not take overnight to repair. The privatization of the power sector is a good foundation to bring that sector back to life. Then, let me ask you, WHAT STOPPED OTHER LEADERS FROM PRIVATIZING THE POWER SECTOR IN THE PAST? When last did Nigeria refine oil? Do you think it will take overnight to start doing that? Let me educate you, the same interests against the repairs of the refineries are the ones fighting this government. The government, through Alison Madueke, attempted to repair those refineries, but sabotage emerged from everywhere. WHO ARE THOSE SABOTAGING THAT EFFORT? You guys are treating OBJ and ATIKU like saints now, WHY DIDN'T THEY REPAIR THE REFINERIES WHEN THEY WERE IN CONTROL? |
LRNZH:Can you please outline his successes and failures? Then, compare them to those of past leaders? |
Before GEJ took over power, the south south of Nigeria was effectively relegated to the background in the political sphere of Nigeria. The Minority Question was rife with consistent reference to the south south dominated by the Niger Delta. Relief came with the emergence of GEJ, and for the first time in the history of Nigeria, the south south exerted some influence on the political sphere of Nigeria. The election period is here, and GEJ, who is from Bayelsa, a state in the south south region is facing untold antagonism from politicians and NIGERIANS that are mostly from other regions, especially the CORE NORTH AND SOUTH WEST. Some politicians and people in the SOUTH SOUTH are also against the continuation of GEJ, a South southerner due to political interests and perceived inefficiency. The only region that seem to be in full support of the SOUTH SOUTH are the SOUTH EASTERN NIGERIANS, where few politicians are also aggrieved. What is the implication of south south losing out to the pressure that is currently mounting on them in 2015? Some of these implications are outlined below; 1) LOSS OF POLITICAL INFLUENCE Once again, the old order to WAZOBIA (IGBO, HAUSA and YORUBA) will gradually re-emerge. The South-South will, once again, be relegated to the background. 2) LOSS OF CONTROL OVER VITAL RESOURCES There is an upcoming review of ownership of oil blocs and licenses within the year. The current crop of owners, who are mostly from other regions in Nigeria, may have their licenses revoked if GEJ CONTINUES. If SOUTH SOUTH political interest wanes, these people will easily have their licenses renewed. Most importantly, the oil derivation, which is being canvassed for by NIGER DELTANS but is antagonized by the North, will enjoy full political backing. The SOUTH SOUTH will have little or no say about the control of their resources. 3) RE-EMERGENCE OF MILITANCY It will only be a matter of time before the cries of marginalization will re-echo, and the spirit of self-determination will be re-ignited. We know how it ends. Militant groups will spring up and the bombings in the region will return. 4) DEVELOPMENT OF A NEGATIVE PEDIGREE FOR SOUTH SOUTH LEADERSHIP The south south will be viewed as being incapable of leading Nigeria. This will be held as a basis for denying the region an opportunity to lead Nigeria for a very long time. Like before, this will silently reflect in the emergence of NIGERIANS from other regions as presidents before a south southerner can ever hold the presidential post again. 5) RE-EMERGENCE OF THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC NEGLECT OF THE SOUTH SOUTH GEJ's emergence brought transformation to some important states in the south south e.g. AKWA IBOM and RIVERS STATE. This is due to the enormous amount of financial resources that was channelled to that region in the past 6 years. This will surely be checked by leaders from the emerging regions and the magical transformation will slow down. I have lived long enough in Nigeria and in every part of the country. I have studied NIGERIAN politics, I obtained a degree in political science in Nigeria. As much as we strive to wish it away, Nigerian politics is strewn in regional, ethno-religious and selfish interests. Some regions in NIGERIA are just not comfortable with power in the hands of the south-south. I will leave you to figure out the regions. |
PDP has been around for 16 years while APC's been around for less than 3 so what are you talking about APC's established rigging? Are you normal at all?
