Too early to judge a man who has not even assumed office. While I admit i support neither Jona or Buhari, the fact is Buhari won. So it's up to all of us to support him to be successful. His success will benefit Nigerians as a collective.

True, but it is a fact that the man also made some desperate promises that are simply not feasible. In politics, we have oppositions, and the type of opposition in Nigerian politics, as exemplified by APC, is that of blackmail and disruption. It is important to start stating the realities now than nurse unrealistic expectation.

These four years will be so hard on Buhari.
Politics / Five Issues That Buhari Cannot Solve As The President by Justcash(m): 2:35am On Apr 27, 2015
Buhari's supporters have often described him as being incorruptible, stringent, pro-developmental and forthright. However, historical antecedents and current political dynamics negates those attributes. Based on these observations, there are several issues that Buhari can never solve as the president of Nigeria. Five of them are listed and briefly explained below.

1: CORRUPTION: "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are". With people like Amaechi, Atiku, Obasanjo, Timipre Sylva, Tinubu etc surrounding Buhari as political henchmen, one cannot help but wonder how corruption can be eliminated without these men being incarcerated. Already, Buhari has grown fond of saying, "My Party will Decide", which implies that decision making in his tenure will be based on the decision of his party, which is led by Tinubu and Atiku (as possible BOT chairman). If you are dreaming of Buhari eliminating corruption as the president, PLEASE WAKE UP FROM YOUR DEEP SLUMBER.

2: TRIBALISM: Buhari has never hidden his bias against other ethnic group until his recent campaign for the presidency in 2015. As a matter that fact, one of the reasons why his puppets like Amaechi shielded him from open interviews and debates was because this intricate feature of the man could be revealed. He is tribalistic and he does not hide it. This is already being played out. Under previous Nigerian democratic governments, elected presidents tried to influence the reflection of federal character in top political positions in Nigeria. The several regions between the north and south were represented in the presidency, senate and house of reps. Buhari has just been elected the president, and under his watch the North is about to occupy all the pole positions in Nigeria. For the first time in many years, the North is about to occupy the national presidency, Senate Presidency and President of House of Reps. The South West, being allies, are being compensated with vice presidency and vice senate presidency. People like Amaechi were compensated with a south south slot in the vice presidency of the house of reps. Knowing the antecedents of Buhari, this is child's play compared to what is to come in the next four years.

3: PEACE: I find it funny when people tell me that Buhari's leadership will be peaceful. Considering the brutish and no-nonsense attitude of the man, he will step on many toes, especially in the South-South, and the outcome will be a massive disruption of economic activities in Nigeria. Pipelines will possibly go up in flames, except the war general agrees to listen to the ragtag NigerDelta warlords (laughable). MASSOB will step up their activities for secession, especially now that the SOUTH EAST has been effectively taken out of political relevance. I really do hope that Buhari is in control of BOKO HARAM because a combination of the three will completely disable his government. He may need to be more compromising than confrontational, which is very unlikely. If you are praying for peace, pray harder.

4: CONSTANT POWER SUPPLY: Yeah, agreed that it is not easy to change the power situation in Nigeria, why then was Jonathan expected to perform such a magic in 4-6 years? A combination of corruption, sabotage and ineptitude will make the attainment of constant power supply elusive under Buhari. He will spend more time probing the way that past governments spent billions in the sector than make any feasible change. Just like in his days as the head of PTF, massive corruption will be perpetrated under his watch and he will have no idea about them. Then, of course, sabotage will be the order of the day, as political opposition and industrial antagonists will strive to make CONTANT power supply impossible.

5: ECONOMIC GROWTH: Nigeria's economy is monotonous (dependent on oil) and the current dynamics and volatility in the global petroleum industry shows that the glorious days of outrageously high oil prices is over. This presents a great challenge for Buhari, as his economic promises are simply too extreme to be achieved under the current economic realities. He can decide to diversify Nigeria's economy, but that will take more than 4 years of belt-tightening policies and sustained economic investments, which Nigerians are not to patient to endure. There is nothing that Buhari can do to change Nigeria's economy overnight. For him to realize his economic promises, he will need to borrow, borrow and borrow, which I don't think that he will want to do. If the OPPOSITION, PDP, decides to play dirty like APC did by scoring cheap political points with unpopular economic policies, Buhari's government will be in for a very tough four years.

The day Buhari decides to play kingkong in the Niger Delta is the day that Nigeria will be made ungovernable for him. It will be pure stupidity on his part if he tries to stump on the ND. That is when the oyel that he is counting on will stay elusive till the day he decides to resign. He will wish for Boko Haram after facing the challenges that he will stimulate.

No matter what you do, don't waste your precious life for any politician. It is a big waste!

If they tell you to go and protest, ask them to bring their Children to lead the protest!

If they ask you to die for them, ask them to bring their children home to die too.

Fact 1: Many of the forumites chanting war songs online are in diaspora! They are abroad!

Fact 2: Many of these politicians have flown their families abroad to avoid the skirmishes that they are brewing!

Fact 3: Many of the politicians surround themselves with bodyguards that are armed to the teeth!

Fact 4: If you die, you will be forgotten and Nigeria will move on.

Fact 5: These politicians are only after their personal ambitions. If you die for them, you died for their political aims!

Be wise. Stay alive. Vote, don't fight!

..do you know what the greeks are facing now. I hope you know how low our reserves have fallen. The reserves is now being used to shore up our currency.

And by stabilize what exactly will the oil price be for you assume it has stabilized? 60 dollars, 90 dollars, 110 dollars? I hope you know Nigeria needs the oil price to be about 120 dollars for us to balance our budget. The cost of shale oil per barrel is falling rapidly so I don't see the price of oil going above 80 dollars anytime soon.

Simply because you are still being paid salaries today does not mean our current model is sustainable.

I wanted to give you a market analysis on the issue in question, but your statement in bold made me to change my mind. You are wrong about the falling cost of shale oil "production" (I assume that is what you mean). If you mean price of oil per barrel from shale production, then you simply don't understand the permutations that you are making there. You may need to clarify and justify that statement before I give you a proper analysis. Information is too expensive to be wasted.

The future is everything but bleak. You cannot pronounce the future bleak because the currency is losing value and oil prices are dropping at the moment.

By the middle of this year, oil prices will stabilize and the economy will be back on track. What we need in future is economic diversification, without which the future will still not be bleak.

Politics / Reasons Why Some Nigerians Are Crying Loud For GEJ To Go by Justcash(m): 5:35am On Feb 13, 2015
1] Majority of the Oil Blocks license in Nigeria will be expiring in few months and many of them are scared that President Jonathan might not renew their license. They want to him out by all means to retain the Oil blocks license.

2] They were hurt them President Jonathan ended their subsidy fraud. Govt reduced the payment from N1.4Trillion in 2011 to less than N400Billion in 2013 and yet there is no scarcity of Fuel in the last 3 years.

3] Jonathan sold off NEPA and ended their fraudulent NEPA contracts. Now local and International companies are building their power plants to stabilize Power. They will not use any NEPA staff to put SALT on our Power plants again to put everyone in darkness.

4] Jonathan removed 57,000 ghost workers and 43,756 Ghost Pensioners from civil service and reduce their wealth. These rogues are using their wealth to pay newspapers, Online media blogs to be lying and sharing propaganda against the President. The Ignorants joined them to shout CHANGE. Are they changing to re-employ the removed Ghost workers or the Pensioners. Be warned about the CHANGE they want you to Vote For.

5] The President handed NPA verification to a third party and eliminated port frauds. They do not benefit anymore, by dubiously seizing People goods and turning round to buy them in Auction. It is now 24 hours operation and surveillance giving no room for their agents to steal or frustrate Importers. They want their evil reign to return. That is their CHANGE.

6] The cabals were hurt when Jonathan blocked their monopoly of fertilizer distribution and now supply straight to real farmers at a discounted prices. Farmers do not go through Ward chairmen, Party Excos, Politicians or any ‘Timber and Caliber’ to get Fertilizer.

7] They want Jonathan out by all means, he blocked their hoarding of petroleum product and stopped Nigerians from sleeping at filling stations and many roasted alive in any event of fire outbreak in filling stations. Their black market business has been destroyed by Jonathan’s proper management of the supply of these Products and because of this, they ruled that he has failed.

Jonathan did not fail Honest Nigerians, but he failed the Oil Profiteers and thieves.

8] Jonathan’s re-introduction of One-man-one-vote did not go down well with them. With Soldiers, Police, Secret Police, Civil Defense at Polling Units, Ballot box snatching and stuffing is now a thing of the past. They made you to believe that Jonathan has failed because Polling units are no more in people’s sitting room. You seem to forget that the President's Party won only in 1 of the 4 governorship elections conducted when he started his tenure in 2011.

Imo – APGA, Anambra – APGA, Edo – APC, Osun – APC, Ekiti – PDP. This will NEVER happen during OBJ government.

9] They want Jonathan out of office because they are aware that the 2016 Census will correct the Population lies imposed on Nigerians for over 60 years. They are MAD that Jonathan will conduct an electronic census, where only Human beings will be counted and there is a zero chance of one person being counted twice. THIS IS THE CHANGE YOU ARE HEARING.

10] They want Jonathan out of office by all means because, in 2016, Jonathan will stop the situation where a Child from Oyo state will be expected to score 129Marks to enter Federal Govt Colleges (Unity schools), while another child from Kebbi is expected to score only 2 Marks to enter the same school. A young man from Osun state is expected to score 190 In Jamb in order to have opportunity of attending a University, while his friends from Sokoto is sure of admission, even if he scores zero. It is a SHAME that young people that Jonathan is fighting for are now brainwashed, fed with lies and and some of them are attacking the man that is fighting for them and their generations to come.

USE YOUR HEAD AND THINK!

11] Nigeria grows its food now, trains are running, our Airports are of international standard, Our roads are safer and motorable, University funding doubled and more Universities built to admit more Jambites. Our street children in the North (Almajiri) are given opportunity to learn and live in comfortable school Hostels. They eat good food, not left-overs. 13 local Motor assembling and Manufacturing companies has relocated to Nigeria. 9 Local and International Power companies are building their power plants since last year to improve electricity needs.

ONE WILL ASK, WHAT CHANGE ARE THESE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT?

Jonathan has shown Nigerians what real democracy is supposed to be. He is not killing or jailing his opponents, including those that insult him over the Media. This is not to be seen as a weakness, but his respect for law and life. He never sent anyone to prison for a mere allegation of corruption without proof. He allowed them fair and independent hearing by those charged with this responsibility.

Politics / Re: APC Will Slash Tariffs On Imported Cars -osinbajo by Justcash(m): 1:29pm On Feb 12, 2015
deemdeem:

I may not deal in cars but i buy cars and use them as I deem fit. Don't get me wrong. I desire that we should start producing and using strictly the cars we produce here. Of cos the benefits outweighs the benefits of just consuming what others produce. However it's wrong to say that there are no benefits at all.
Imported vehicles also bring jobs but definitely not as much as if we start doing and consuming it ourself.
This doesn't change my stance though about this good policy coming at a very wrong time. The basics needs to be sorted out first.
The bitter truth is if we produce and sell to ourselves at extremely high rate, who are the Nigerians that will buy it? If Nigerians don't buy, won't these companies fold up, if they do what happens to the jobs created?
Govt should focus on the root which is the indices that makes producing very high first chief among power which invariably reflects in final cost hopefully at the reach of so many before increasing tariffs of
imported vehicles.

What you are proposing is only feasible if local production has not commenced. I agree that infrastructural provision is paramount, I'm only saying that it can be gradually introduced to bring down the cost of production instead of tampering with the tariffs and killing local production. Government should strive to build on the jobs provided to generate more jobs instead of killing them.

As par buying the cars, Nigerians will get used to it, especially if more jobs are provided through replicating local manufacturing in other industries. Investments create jobs. Jobs create income. Income stimulates domestic consumption. Some countries are doing this e.g. Malaysia

And who told u that importation of cars doesn't create jobs. Starting from the buyer, clearing and forwarding agents, transporters, auto mechanics down to the scrap metal man that deals with the remnants. Don't be deceived, there is currently thousands if not millions benefitting from the status quo.
The truth is as long as prices of Nigerian made prices are at the high side, it will never be attractive to the vast majority. I don't blame the producers either, their cost of production is also high. If Nigerians don't buy, won't the company fold up? This should be our govt primary concern. help the companies in reducing their overhead therby reducing the cost of these vehicles therby becoming attractive to vast majority of Nigerians and not only govt.
Even with the increase in tariff, tokunboh cars are still cheaper, attractive and even safer so what really should be the primary catch to the Nigerian consumer?
again I state, the policy is good but the timing is wrong.

I deal on cars. Importation of cars does not have a spiraling effect on job creation as much as domestic manufacturing of cars. When you start to manufacture cars instead of importing them, it is like backward integration in job creation. Right from the point of production, jobs are being created. This includes supplies of foreign made components, technical aspect of production, marketing, sales, servicing and general administration. Then ofcourse, spiraling effects on outsourced services, medical personnel among others. Let's not forget that these cars can be exported. The process of exportation comes with its own spiraling effect on job creation. More still, organized servicing outfits will emerge all over the country to provide car servicing aids. Jobs are created by these servicing firms too.

When you import cars, you shed the production burden, and foreign labour replaces local labour. The impact on job creation is minimal when compared with local production. Because anybody can import cars, qualified Nigerians that can work in the auto manufacturing industry are left jobless. The best they can do is to rely on their entrepreneurial abilities to become mechanics.

The unemployment rate in Nigeria is high. It is foolhardy to rely on importation when products can be made at home for job creation. As long as the capacity has been established, it is important to create a means for these manufacturers to compete effectively with their global peers, even if it means being extremely protectionist.

For the full benefits of local production to felt, competing foreign products must be made more expensive through tariff. This will encourage foreign firms to embark on foreign direct investment and their expertise will be gradually transferred to NIGERIANS.

The auto policy is good just like the proposed full deregulation of petrol but the timing is wrong.
Some major infrastructural deficiencies needs to be sorted out first before the auto policy should be hailed.
These deficiencies primarily include but not limited to Power.
Innosun for instance highest overhead cost during production goes into power generation to his factories. He in return, place it on the final cost of his vehicles produced. I don't know of any of his vehicles that is less than 2.5 million (before fall of naira ooooo).
How many Nigerians will choose to go for an Innosun at such price when u can get a good tokunboh C Class Mercedes-Benz with lesser amount? In my opinion, 2005 benz is still superior to its 2015 Innosun counterpart.
Till date, govt still remain Innosun biggest customer. This shouldn't be. Innosun cars price needs to come down and this will only happen if cost of production is drastically reduced. That should be out govt greatest concern now and not increasing tariffs therby increasing and forcing on Nigerian throats very expensive vehicles which doesn't[/b] reflect true value for money.

The investment is already in place. It needs to be protected because it creates jobs, then deficient infrastructural facilities should be added to reduce the cost of production. That is a better strategy than the reduction of tariff. If you reduce tariff, you'll kill the production plants. It is better to ban the importation of cars to protect domestic jobs. With time, Nigerians will get used to the price and the spiraling job creation impact of supporting industries will be enormous. As expected, imported brands will seek for ways to manufacture locally for profit and government's protection.

OSINBANJO is not thinking properly.

Go to the streets of PH and Warri and see militant warlords wasting money while law abiding citizens wallow in abject poverty. I guess it's the majority groups that also asked him to neglect them?

The agitation has always been there. The question is, how effective has it been. The masses did not make GEJ the acting president. OBJ AND HIS CRONIES GUIDED HIM TO TAKE IT. For a lot of people the issue is simply performance in the context of resources available. What is Bayelsa like today with the Jonathan presidency?

Nigerian politics, right from independence, has never been about merit. If it was about merit, Buhari would not have been qualified to contest. It is about ethno-religious concerns, which is what the reality is as much as Nigerians like you will do everything to deny it.

Those of you screaming performance, especially those from Niger-Delta, will realize in the first two years of Buhari's regime that you have committed a big blunder, and there will be no way to reverse it because the Clique will tighten up their grips this time.

Change2015:
The election is where the people decide if the incumbents term in office is 'commendable' or not? The election is where people decide if they want to replace their leaders or not. Why is Jonathan wriggling out of facing the people's judgement, if he feels like you, that his performance has been 'commendable'? Simple question.

Mr Man, if you can't see the progress that GEJ has made, go and get medicated spectacles that are as thick as the bottom of a coke bottle. I don't have time to educate your biased mind.

Brother because others are doing what they don't understand does not mean we should all join dem, i urge u to pls reconsider ur decision, if we should abandon him because of propagandas and political blackmails, 2moro we might b regretting
We can try our best and leave d rest for God to handle

My brother, it is too late. I did not board my flight home and I don't intend to arrange any new one. I wish GEJ and the Nigerian minority groups lots of luck. I'm eagerly waiting to say Goodmorning to Niger-Deltans mostly.

Why do u feel ur vote for Gej is a waste brother?

It will be a big waste because the people, for whom I'd have voted to ensure that they complete their equitable political share in Nigeria, are mostly leaning towards Buhari for reasons that they can't explain. I'll better stay off than cry more than the bereaved.

JONATHAN has not performed badly, even though he can do better. Why are his own people itching to kick him out? Yet, in a matter of months, the same people will take to the streets protesting against marginalization. It is a shame.

I was an ardent agitator for the resolution of the minority question in Nigeria. Today, I have given up on that cause. I have finally made up my mind to never support any future agitation geared towards eliminating the marginalization of, especially, the southern minority groups in the economic and political existence of Nigeria.

If many Nigerians from the southern minority groups can feel that taking power from GEJ (a southern minority) represents change, irrespective of his commendable performance, why should I, an Igbo man, have to think otherwise? They have forgotten so fast that they were only able to taste political power through sheer luck.

I can bet with anything that they will never see this opportunity again for a very very long time. Those that expect that they will get a fair opportunity to choose their leaders in the future should wake up from their deep slumber.

I thank God that I'm alive to experience the current electoral dispensation.

I'll start by not traveling home to vote as I planned, because I don't want to waste my vote on GEJ
