I don't want to leave for NY with any document missing so as not to be subjected to any uneccessary rudeness and abuse, you know how Naija consulate staff can be. If anyone with first-hand experience can let me know more about the requirement for a guarantor I'd appreciate it.

I heared its a new college becos i just got admitted to study 1year diploma course and am about applying for my visa. i would love to know more about the college their teaching standard, how the college is like in picture and so many more if you can share with us about the college. I read about NSK once and I remember it's a non-existence country, it's not real, it's only an Art's group that want to showcase and present their work all over the world and their camouflage passport is not a valid international travel document, it's sort of like a membership card.

IN 2007, I APPLIED FOR UK VISA AS A VISITOR WITH THE OLD PASSPORT(MRP), THEN I WAS IN A UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA, [b]THE VISA WAS REFUSED AND I FILLED AN APPEAL BUT IT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL ALSO.[/b]LATER I FELL SICK AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO FINISH IN THE UNIVERSITY SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN WORKING AND NOW I GAINED AN ADMISSION INTO A COLLEGE IN THE UK AND I HAVE PAID PART OF THE SCHOOL FEES REQUIRED, BUT MY FEAR ARE:
1. WILL THEY STILL HAVE MY INFO IN THEIR DATA BASE SINCE I HAVE SAME INFO ON MY NEW EPASSPORT?
2. SHOULD I FILL YES IN THE COLUMN THAT SAY HAVE YOU BEEN REJECTED VISA BEFORE?PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I NEEDD YOUR ADVISE. THANKS.

not really. the money can remain in the sponsor's account. this is clearly stated on the UKBA webite

I got to the the British council to apply for a student visa today and was shocked when i gathered that there have been series of refusals in the past few weeks owing to the UKBA inability to contact some schools for verification. I tried all the phone number of my schl written on top of my trnscript but none was functioning. An agent the advised that applicants should ge letter of attestation from their shcools that will contain the functional contacs, I just put forth this so that ppl should take note and work on this.
Meanwhile, i want tl know if it is advisable or neccessary to make the application thru agent such as PFL coz i met an agent who was talking as if one can not personally make the application. Pls can somebody tell me the danger of applying without an agent. Thanks

But then, the last poster made some good points. The cap for now only applies to skilled workers from non-EU states. Which from his statistics is only 10% of non-EU immigration.

So 10% of 32% is 3.2%. So placing a cap on 3.2% of the immigrant population is meaningless; only scratching the surface.

Really this is getting worrisome, really dont know what can be done, been following the story of the 15year old nija boy(Zac Olumegbon) who was stabbed to death in london a few days back too and it was heart rending to see the distraught mum talking on BBC2.
According to the police that was the 14th teenager to die violently in the city this year.
