i wonder why white Zimbabwean farmers are such efficient and successful farmers. most naija farmers wallow in poverty unless you stole billions and an ota farmer.

Laziness, greed, get rich quick syndrome, . . the list is endless.

@justwise
Good morning. I would your advice as regard my intending uk study visa application. I got an unconditional offer to study a masters program @ birmingham city university. I paid the required deposit last week and I would like to ask a few questions
1. Hw many days/weeks does it take to be issued d CAS letter? 2. Do I get it via mail or can it be sent to me via email?
3. I intend to use my dads account n I want to know if we have to wait for 28days or we can apply straight away being that it's his normal account?
4. After paying a 3000pnds deposit, hw much do we need to have in d bank account before applying for the visa?
Thanks

The issuing of CAS doesn't take that long though it depends on the school and how quick they process your application but since the new semester is starting Sept, it will not take that long.
You will get an email from them.

You need to have £5400(maintenace money) Plus the remaining school fees in your account for 28days b4 applying for visa

Hi all, pls I would appreciate a quick response to this: I am about to renew my Uk visa but I still have the old passport ( That is not the new electronic one) and it is still valid till Sept 2011, can I apply with this or must I go and get the new passport before application?

Thanks.

The old passport will be out of use this Dec, so if i were u i will get the e-passport and save urself headache in future.

@Sonye

Which school in the UK charges £4000 for MBA? Which registered school is that?

hugooh42:
I don't think that deadline is achievable. i live in Hong Kong and i have been to our embassy here to get the E passport but they said they have not been given the go ahead and equipment to issue them.The same story is replicated in many of our embassies around the world. So do you think after the deadline a nigerian citizen will not been allowed to go back to his country with the old passport? I guess this deadline applies to those travelling out from nigeria.

But u can do it in China since HK hasn't got the equipment.

goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@all thanks for the advice.

@justwise
how could one go about a Dubai visa or please see my post @

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-484862.0.html#msg6443784

thanks.

I thought u were asking about UK visa? Have u changed ur mind and now want to go to Dubai?

@ CharlesOb

Do you work with British embassy in Nigeria?

vhtravels:
well, as a student of the school from foreign country, you will be send to be the AMBASSADOR to your home country during a SUMMER to recruit/impact more knowledge about your school to some intending student in your home country on how and what is required of them to become a student of your school as well. This will make the communication between the student (prospective) and the school to be much easy because the person acting as an AMBASSADOR would be able to say so many things about the school, that is it

You really want us to believe that?

jikajika:
@ Justwise: Thanks man, I guess I'm good to go then. I'll storm VFS Abuja next week. Thanks.

Take ur time and make sure that u have all the documents.
University of Birmingham is a very good university, the city is the second largest city in the UK, though expensive as u can expect.
Good luck.

jikajika:
@ Justwise: Thanks for the quick response. You guys render priceless support and advise here, we really appreciate it. Fortunately my school (University of Birmingham) did not at any time ask me to pay any part of the fees before giving me the CAS number. If was given to me sometime last month. People are suprised when I tell them this but that's the truth. I was asked to pay 550 pounds (out of the total fee of 4695 pounds) by the hospitality and accommodation services in order to make my accommodation guaranteed and secured, which I have done. So how do you see my case? Thanks.

Yes some universities don't ask for deposite or full payment b4 sending CAS, that is fine and the BHC knows that.

Paying for the accommodation is ok but you will still be given a visa without paying if you met all requirements. Paying for accommodation is not one of the requirements cos that £5400 is part of ur accommodation and other expenses.

@ehis80

There is nothing like 100% visa guarantee, stop misleading pple here.

You don't deal with ANY immigration officer in Malaysia, stop talking nonsense.

You are just a poor hungry dubious individual.

Vicjustice:
Actually, i browsed through the website and while it looks a bit authentic and their intentions seem to be genuine like a small cyber business; and though it facilitate explicit electronic payment methods, but i'm a bit concerned about the options of Western Union and its likes. Therefore, i'll go by Justwise' opinion, i think it's just the wise thing to say in this regard.

I went through their website as well, it look gr8 and all that BUT method of payment is no no no, they can deny ever recieving the money, days are far gone when payment is made through western union or moneygram, its not safe, its risky. Even western union will tell you that.

persist:
@justwise
Thanks Justwise But the transcript is not sealed . I used the same transcript to apply to the School itself . also I am Sponsoring my self.

Its better u get another sealed transcript addressed to the BHC.
If you are sponsoring urself then u can submit ur active account and savings(if the money on ur active account is not enough to meet the financial requirement) You need to prove to BHC that u have strong and reliable source of income to sponsor urself.

jikajika:
@ Aks: Thanks a lot for your response. May God bless you and grant you success in all you do. I have not paid any part of the tuition fee (10800 pounds) but I have made a prepayment of 550 pounds to secure my accommodation in the school. I have requested for an official receipt but I'm yet to get it. In fact that's what is delaying me from going to VFS abuja to do the application. I want to apply early enough. My question now is: DOES THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE PAID PART OR ALL OF YOUR ACCOMODATION OR TUITION FEES GIVE YOU A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING A VISA? I'm asking this because since it's taking too much time to get the receipt for the 550 pounds I paid for accomodation, I just want to show that there is much more than enough money to take care of all that in my Dad's account before I travel. Will that be ok or do you advise me to wait a bit more for the receipt? Thanks again in anticipation of another quick response.

Paying for accommodation is not really important but paying the fees. . .part or full is important cos u need the CAS for ur visa application

NO-SCAM? Obviously this is real scam

saintbajar:
i meant money transfer service like western union. please check that for me, i want to know ifits scam or not.

Its not a good ideal at all to make payment through western union or moneygram. U can't trace.

Please keep your money, it could be scam. Any registered agent will have bank account and tracable physical address.

Why not do the visa thing urself? Why do you need to pay anybody?

vhtravels:
well, here is the name of the School, LIMKOKWING UNIVERSITY, Malaysia and the Full name is Adeyemi Tunde Joseph whom you could also search on facebook as u did with mine, ok,

That school never mention anywhere in their website about any representative in Nigeria, they listed other countries outside Malaysia but Nigeria wasn't on that list.

jay bee:
why can't u just bloody post the advice on dis thread. Why must the OP call you if u don't have any ulterior motive

Don't mind that Con artist.

vhtravels:
@Justwise, that is where you are wrong, I am not the Representative and neither the person to give advice but the name of the representative is Tunde and the Number is the MTN Number you are looking at there, why would you even sounds ridiculous?

Keep fooling urself, the name of the representative is Tunde and you gave us your yahoo ID to contact Tunde?
Which school in Malaysia is Tunde representing?

@vhtravels

Is the representative name James O Olasupo? A graduate of INSTITUTE OF AVIATION MANAGEMENT OF NIGERIA '06? Now working with SEGUN ADEBAYO BUSINESS GROUP - COMPUTER TRAINING CENTER?
