K2: @Justwise, It's quite noble that you are trying to rid the board of scammers; however, I think you might be taking this too far. No one has the monopoly of knowledge not even you. The guy described from his posts his experience in Poland and what he was able to do and moves he made. I think unless you've lived in Poland or gone through the same process, it's kind of disingenuos to brand him a scammer just because you've never had his experience or don't know how the process in Poland works. I think we should err on the side of helping and assisting each other vice having our thumbs at the trigger ready to shoot down contrary views. You are in the UK; thank God for that, but lots more of our people need help to other countries as well. That's why many come here to seek counsel. This forum should be able to do that. @Mikkyangel, Good post. Obviously you did not read Mikkyangel post. In his first post he told us that he left Nigeria 2008 and graduated with his Msc 2yrs after, now he is telling us he graduated with MBA. That said, i couldnt careless what any of you want to believe, but i will always point out where i see misleading information. My 2cent to you is this: Its ur life, ur money. Good luck. |

promise2: Mikkyangel didnt say he got MBA in the USA rather he did a summer job in the USAAnd he is not an agent any way, He may have Exagerated things but He is not a scammer nor agent. Did you read where he said this in his post? i hv worked in America(last summer),thereby getting a work experience Certificate and a social security number,i have added value to my CV thereby getting an MBA qualification |
Travel › Re: Advice On Study In Poland by justwise(mod): 1:45am On Apr 29, 2010 |
PapaBrowne: @Justwise I read through Mikkyangel's article and I couldn't find anywhere where he stated that he completed his Msc in USA in 2008. An excerpt from his post:"I have added value to my CV, thereby getting an MBA qualification". . . . What I understand by this is that in many Universities, in order to pursue an MBA, you need work experience, so by working in America last summer, he has added value to his CV, which automatically qualifies him to pursue an MBA. That's my understanding on mikkyangel's statement, but I could be wrong. Although I concur with much of what Mikkyangel says, I think it might appear like there is a tad bit of exageration here and there. He surely does make Europe and lkiving abroad look like a bed of roses. Back in time, year 2000 to be precise, I was in a similar country as Poland, and it accorded me the opportunity to travel across the world as visas from these countries were very easy 2 obtain. I think things have changed a little now though. I hear things are a little more difficult than back then as there are now loads of Nigerians everywhere. How did u interpret this to mean something else? I have added value to my CV, thereby getting an MBA qualification He said: . . . thereby getting an MBA qualification Did he say that by doing summer work in USA will enhance his chances of getting MBA qualification? I was supposed to write MBA not Msc in my previous post |

Please why do you say JUNE/JULY. are u saying that applying later than dis will be too late? Since the new system starts Sept, applying say. . . July will give you enough time to prepare, if they refused u a visa u will still have enough time to re-apply or appeal. |

SOPRANO: @ Justwise I"M NOT EVEN FROM THAT REGION, I'M ONLY CITING THE FACTUALLY OBVIOUS WHICH NEGATE ME BEING BIAS. I DID INTERNSHIP AT THE U.N AND IMF IN WASHINGTON D.C. AFTER DURING AND COLLEGE AND MY RESEARCH FIELD DEALT WITH WESTERN AFRICAN AND EASTHERN AFRICAN SOCIO-ECONOMICAL CHARACTERISTICS IN THE PRE AND POST COLONIAL ERA AS RELATES TO GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT WHICH HAPPEN TO INVOLVE MARRIAGE AND CULTURE , SO I THINK YOU CAN APPRECIATE MY NEUTRALITY HERE, DON'T KILL THE MESSENGER!! You need to update ur research result, pple have moved on, the younger generation is more open minded, i guess u carried out ur WESTERN AFRICAN 20-30yrs ago, among the tribes in Nigeria, Igbos are more travelled and more exposed to other cultures. Your views about Igbos and their culture has passed its sell-by date. |
Romance › Re: Do Nigerians Always Marry Each Other? by justwise(m): 2:59pm On Apr 28, 2010 |
SOPRANO: @ NAYA, I WASN'T AWARE OF THE FACT THAT YOUR DUDE IS AN IBO MAN . ONE THING I WILL TELL YOU IS: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GURL, IBO FOLKS DON'T DO THE INTER-RACIAL-TRIBAL MARRIAGE THINGY WELL, YOU ARE BETTER-OFF WITH A YORUBA MAN INSTEAD, THEY ARE MORE OPEN MINDED CONCERNING INTER-RACIAL OR INTER-TRIBAL MARRIAGE OF WHICH STATISTICS SUBSTANTIALLY SUPPORTS. THE TENDENCIES FOR THE YORUBAS TO MARRY OUT OF THEIR CULTURE EMINATES FROM THE COLONIAL ERA WHEN THEY EMIGRATED EN-MASS TO ENGLAND AND RETURNING WITH FOREIGN SPOUSES. AT FIRST, IT WAS A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE BUT AS TIME WENT BY, THEY GOT USED TO THE IDEA HENCE CONTINUE TILL TODAY. EVEN WITHIN NIGERIAN CULTURE, YORUBA AND HAUSA/FULANI FOLKS INTER-MARRY EACH OTHER A WHOLE LOT COMPARE TO IBO'S WITH OTHER NIGERIAN CULTURE. SO MY LIL 50 CENT OF ADVICE TO YOU IS: IF YOU R BENT ON MARRYING A NIGERIAN, YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITH YORUBA OR NIGER-DELTA MEN. What loads of utter nonsense!! I knew this topic will turn to tribal bashing by some muppets, who told you that yorubas are more open minded that the Igbos? This is what i hate with passion about some Nigerians, pple can't address issues without pushing it along tribal line. |

babyme: ok to make this clear, the reason is not cause of your skin colour, if it was ,they would marry other black africans, but they hardley do, what u have to understand is that in naija marriage is not just in out, we fall in love with attributes that can make both us and our family happy, divorce, seperation, its hardly done, especially in an igbo family, i can tell u as an igbo gurl that an igbo man does not take his family for granted thats why for him to marry , he must find someone that respect his family and that deals with the annoyingly frequent family issues that comes his way, and lets be honest how many non nigerians have that strong womanly characters, can u sit down in the firewood place and cook rice and pepper soup for his guest and family in the village, would you take your children yearly for christmas in imo, benue, zaria, ogun, etc, if u can show all this characters am sure he would have no doubt in marrying u, Not every Nigerian girl can do that now even, many famlies are more open minded now. Many educated Nigerian girls will see been humble as weakness hence wouldn't want to be seen going to the village to sit down in the firewood place and cook rice and pepper soup for his guest and family. Marriage who you fall inlove with. |

platinumnk: Marry someone who you can build a life with, its not by force to marry a Nigerian. Please, just know the guy you are dating very well, and you should be open enough to discuss this with him. My Uncle was born in Cameroon and married a Cameroonian lady, They have a beautiful baby, just avoid people that are stuck in backwards thinking Absolutely! There are too many of them, they never move on, always going back to something that happened 100yrs ago within the tribes, passing it from one generation to another. |

Ujujoan: Yours is a case of one in a million an like I said, you cannot concretely generalize.
I have a cousin who married a German and after a 10 year marriage is asking us to find a 'Nigeria wife' for him. And that is not an isolated case, it's very very common especially with Igbos. How many threads do we get on this forum where Nigerians abroad dont even want to marry their own people there. They prefer Nigerians living in Nigeria. Are you telling me they NEVER dated a non-Nigerian they could have married comfortably You are the one trying to mislead her, all I'm giving her is a soft landing. So we dont have another thread her on 'he dumped me to marry a Nigerian lady' . . Is that not one in a million case as well?(bolded part) I know alot of Nigerians here who are married to non-Nigerians and still living together till today. Marriage break down could be as a result of many things, not cos the wife is non Nigerian. Marrying a Nigerians doesn't mean that the marriage will last 4ever |

Nayah: Madlady don't be so sure someone from your own nation could make you suffering and does not care about the fact you are her sister or not. Anyway for me it's all about indiiduals not nationality. Some people think the fact people who are native from the same country could get on well rather than someone from foreign one, I don't think it's always true or verified, you can learn and discover another culture and be opened minded. Nayah: ok that's what I think as well, but this is not only in Nigeria in Cameroon as well people prefer eing each other because of the culture but I think it's not faire heart in not about race or tribe, The younger generation is more open minded than our parents who are still blinded by tribal issues. More and more educated Nigerians are more interested in who you are rather than where you come from. |

Nayah: justwise I think she pointed out a very important point I'm french but originally form cameroon and germany but actually my cousin had a Nigerian fiance he wanted to marry her but my family strongly refude this union saying the same thing as Ujujoan. And to be honest a lot of africans think that especially in my country I'm not disputing the fact that some Nigerian men or women prefer marrying other Nigerians or from their tribe, yes it does happen but many Nigerians does marry from other countries, tribes and race as well. |
Romance › Re: Do Nigerians Always Marry Each Other? by justwise(m): 1:05pm On Apr 27, 2010 |
Ujujoan: While we cannot concretely generalize, it's very true that majority of Nigerians would rather marry from their country. Even within the country, people like to marry from their tribe and some really conservative people would prefer to marry from their state, or even town.
It's something we are all used to and honestly, I think it's the safest thing to do. Nigerians have a strong sense of origin probably because of the hardships being faced by people here and the high level of tribal clashes and wars.
If you are dating a Nigerian, just have it at the back of your mind that he moght not marry you and even if he does, there's every possiblity that he'll take another wife from his village. That is very misleading there UJujoan. |

It means even though they can date other women their family are conservative especially step mother who wants an original nigerian sometimes from the same tribe, some africain like, ivoirians, ghanians, liberians have told me that what do you think, thanks Not entirely true, many Nigerians do marry from other tribes, race, countries . .etc |
