For me the the SU-57 is a dangerous aircraft like the F35 and F22 but it lags behind in stealth factor which is a very important factor in a 5th gen aircraft.
But in other factors the SU57 will compete well in terms of dog fight, aerobatics, BVRM, avionics, aircraft engine and air superiority. Noe considering how cheap the SU57 his and formidable it his, I'll go to it !
We can't can't tell too much about most stuffs on both aircraft has most technology, especially avionics are classified.

Thanks for the link.

I don't think it lags behind it stealth. What's the determining factor for a stealth fighter, what is the RCS of the SU-57, nobody knows.

I agree with you on every other thing except this above.

Chkil

I wonder how the SU-57 stacks up against the F-35 and F-22?

In sheer numbers the F-35 is better.

It's difficult to say what the avionics suite can do for the SU-57 as most of that information is classified.

Even the SU-57 multi function display is classified.

So, what's your opinion

Buratai Inducts New Artillery Guns, Inaugurates New Army School of Artillery Headquarters Complex

Kachia (Kaduna State), Dec. 19, 2020 (NAN) The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, on Saturday in Kachia, Kaduna State, inspected and inducted new set of artillery guns and equipments to be deployed for operations in the North East.

Buratai also inaugurated the new Headquarters complex for the Nigerian Army School of Artillery (NASA) and also inspected several ongoing projects in the school and the barracks community.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Federal Government through the ministry of defence procured the brand new artillery guns and equipments.

The guns are field artillery pieces and some of the equipment are vehicle ultra-light carriage for artillery and self propelled light gun series whose identity and specification is not to be published for security reasons.

Speaking to journalists after the commissioning ceremony, spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brig- Gen. Sagir Musa explained why the chief of army staff was in the NASA which is to inspect and test fire the guns.

He said that one of the COAS main priorities included, "ensuring a conducive working environment for officers and soldiers of Nigeria Army.

"It was in this vein the COAS commissioned the ulta modern Nigerian Army school of artillery Headquarters here in Kachia today which you just witnessed", he said.

"Giving the quality of works done, that singular act is commendable and will help in enhancing productivity of officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army School of Artillery".

"The new artillery guns inspected by the Chief of Army Staff will be inducted into the Northeast Theater of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North East", Musa said. (NAN)

"The two helicopters were handed over to the NAF on 27 January 2017 after they were seized on 7 November 2016 when the importer could not produce end user certificates. They were originally destined for Rivers State to protect oil and gas facilities and were equipped with night vision equipment, armour plating and cameras. They were supposed to bypass import duties. The new helicopter will be deployed to the Northeast as part of the efforts to strengthen the counterterrorism campaign against Boko Haram."

They were manufactured with armour plating.

I think the Air Force requires 4 more units of Bell 412. The aircraft seems to be a proper work horse.

Kazikazi:
Good news at a right time.
But here are my questions...

How was the rescue mission done?
Did they arrest anybody or any of the abductors?
Did they kill anybody while trying to rescue the boys?
Did the gov army faced any resistance from the abductors?
Once the kidnap happened, the military, army and air force sprang to action. There was an initial exchange of fire with an advanced military team.

In other to avoid civilian casualties, the army was ordered to tail the adductors and prevent them any freedom of movement.

The military immediately deployed ISR aircrafts, drones, helicopters, fighter jets, armour and special forces to cordon the general area.

Boko-Haram Terrorists wanted to take advantage of the situation, hence the propaganda video Shekau released.

While the area was cordoned off the army government weighed their options, and chose the best possible action to save all the boys kidnapped.

See below pictures from the actual military operation and cordon.

from the bolded you're essentially saying that your mind is already made and nothing else will make you believe otherwise

You will believe or choose not to believe whatever as long as it pushes your hate agenda

The boys have been freed and whatever means was used is justified
The fact is most of the people questioning the rescue of these boys are politically motivated.

They don't have the interest of the boys at heart, they just want an opportunity to blame the government in power.

Nah, I disagree.
NO one deserves a medal, the abduction shouldn't have taken place in the first place.
There are abductions in America. Why should Nigeria, an active warzone be different?

Security is everybody's business. Just so you know, our security agencies are not gods, they need the cooperation of every citizen to succeed.

We have too many criminally minded people in Nigeria, that's the biggest problem.

This country needs an urgent reorientation.

This picture is not recent but it tells us a lot about the rough play that is going on in the North. It's like smoking cigarettes in a petrol station, like sticking ones hand in a snakes hole.
Many people are ignorant, or would I say deliberately wants to ignore the imminent danger that this budding terrorism in the North West portends . So called security expert and analyst are also not sounding the alarm loud enough. What we have now is still dress rehearsal, by the time the bubble will finally burst, Boko Haram's insurgency will be like child's play
Bros, there is nothing wrong in seeking alternative measures to peace. What the Katsina Governor did is not wrong, we cannot bomb and kill everybody. Even American with the world's highest weapons cannot, that's way they are currently negotiating with the Taliban.

The Katsina Governor's approach has been previously tried successfully in Nigeria with the Niger-Delta militancy.

In Australia the government bought weapons from private individuals too.

Kinetic and Non-Kinetic approaches to peace work.

Komekn is hopeless. If the Bell helicopter were indeed sitting ducks, I'm sure they wouldn't have lasted this long in active combat deployments.
He argues like there's a screw loose.

The Bell Helicopters can be armed with J6-C rocket pods, they have armour plating, they can fly and conduct ISR at night, they can be armed with 50 calibre machine guns.

How do you possibly arm them again, man!!!!

If this was an American led operation it would have been non-stop praise singing.

From the pictures you have posted this is a Bell 412. If l remember correctly they were procured by the former Governor of River's state and then seized by then Jonathan federal government.

First of all l am sure you can clearly see there is absolutely no FLIR and or Thermal imaging camera and or pod on the helicopter.

Boko Haram have HMG on thier gun trucks a low flying noisy helicopter with a huge searchlight in the night is essentially sitting duck.

I admire once again your optimism but you cannot turn white to black.
You have a habit of arguing aimlessly, pointlessly without doing any basic research.

Is this FLIR not clear enough for you?

The Nigerian military did all in it's powers to deny the bandits any freedom of action.

They deserve to be commended for quick action, professionalism and bravery.

They all deserve medals for the actions taken to rescue these boys.

Helicopters with FLIR, Special Forces, ground troops, heavy weapons they deployed with speed!!!

This is by far more impressive than the rescue the Americans were praised all over for recently.

The Troops and commanders deserve more than just praise.
