It has become common to see people complain, rightly so and understandably, about living in the abroad as been compared to how they lived in Nigeria. With my knowledge so far and experiences coupled with other people’s tales, I consider it pertinent to enlighten our folks about the A - Z of relocating to the abroad from Nigeria.

1. The younger you are, the better. Additionally, the earlier you depart, the better. If you graduated in, say, 2017 and japa’d the following year, in some countries, all things been equal, you don become permanent resident minimum and will become a naturalised citizen this year or next. As a young person, you can easily adapt and re-strategise. You can path a different course to ensure things work for you.

2.Relocating via work visa > student visa. This is more pertinent if you are married or above say 32. You get a good landing in the country and start earning immediately. Rather than spend your way to assimilate, you are paid while doing so. In most countries, you have started the process to naturalisation. Using number 1, it means if you moved to the UK in 2018 as a worker, you are almost due for ILR.

3. Know why you japa’d. No be because say Ade is doing it, you too Emeka follow. You both are not the same. Assess your reason to japa. Is it to reside in a place where things work seamlessly? Is it for a stronger passport? Do you plan to live there for life? Is it for more economic opportunities?

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga - 8/10 - The only reason Chelsea weren't four or five goals behind in the first half and ten or eleven by the final whistle. Excellent.

RB: Trevoh Chalobah - 3/10 - Ruined by Mitoma on a number of occasions apart from one excellent challenge midway through the first half.

CB: Wesley Fofana - 6/10 - Chelsea's best defender for the most part but did not cover himself in glory for the equaliser.

CB: Benoit Badiashile - 3/10 - A poor clearance for the equaliser but hadn't really inspired a lot of confidence before or after then anyway.

LB: Ben Chilwell - 3/10 - Seen arguing with Mudryk over positioning. Nowhere near his best at either end of the pitch.

DM: Enzo Fernandez - 5/10 - Chelsea's main creative outlet in midfield had a tough battle up against Caicedo. Usually came off second-best.

CM: Denis Zakaria - 3/10 - Offered nothing in the midfield battle and left Chelsea hanging on at the back at times.

CM: Conor Gallagher - 5/10 - Scored a scrappy goal and put himself about without ever really offering anything of real quality, and yet was probably still Chelsea's best attacker.

RW: Christian Pulisic - 2/10 - Largely uninvolved.

ST: Raheem Sterling - 2/10 - Didn't offer much but wasn't helped by Chelsea's determination to fire crosses in towards him.

LW: Mykhailo Mudryk - 5/10 - A fast start which yielded the assist for Gallagher's opener but faded as the game went on.

Substitutes

Mateo Kovacic (56' for Fernandez) - 4/10 - Didn't offer the sort of control asked of him.

Hakim Ziyech (56' for Pulisic) - 5/10 - Fairly uninspiring.

Reece James (56' for Fofana) - 5/10 - Not his usual self yet again but his introduction did at least coincide with a drop-off from Mitoma.

Joao Felix (56' for Sterling) - 5/10 - Rarely involved.

Mason Mount (74' for Zakaria) - 5/10 - A challenging cameo.

Frank Lampard - 3/10 - Prioritising the Real Madrid game is about the only thing Lampard got right here. Had absolutely no answer to anything Brighton were doing but kept his heavy hitters healthy for the game that really matters.

I don't see how Lampard's Chelsea can defeat or get a draw against any of the remaining teams we're playing this season in CL and EPL.

He actually has no business in coaching.

You can assist people to secure admission in international schools (even if they graduated with a 3rd class), get them student loans(to cover for their studies and proof of funds) and even help them to process their study permit(Canada).
All the above can make you over 200k monthly on one student cos some schools will pay you for that, the company that gives it student loan will pay you and the student will still pay you!!!

nothing will happen, I've told you nobody cares about those things, people are trying to get their money up, guys in school that indulged in those things are all trying to get their money up. You don't live here in 2022/2023. All over Nigeria, in the past, in SE, SE, SW, even in thKe North, some teenagers and young adults engaged in one form of cultism or the other, it's not exclusive to Rivers state.

Rivers is RELATIVELY safe and peaceful when compared to many Northern states (NE particularly). I agree.

It also has a prevalent gang culture. Even the permanent residents can't deny this. Pray tell, where has (street) gang culture never been proportional to violence? None. The rise of gangs and the prevalance nonetheless follows a trajectory of violence.

We've come to accept anything but the optimum as peace and safety.
It's the same way some Nigerians defend our leaders when the foreign media term them corrupt despots. We accuse them of prejudice as against focusing on the issue.

Let the issue of 'agbero' in Lagos come up again, then watch these same defensive folks come out with their lexical pitchforks.

The only way we are going to get better is tell ourselves the truth.
