Praise the Lord, satan is a liar! The short answer to your question is this; At the time of temptation, remember that God is everywhere and is watching you. The Angels are there too waiting for you to make a decision (yes, you have the will to make a decision), and the Angels are hoping that you will make the right decision. Satan works best when we rely solely on our strength and understanding. Man simply cannot match the wisdom of satan, but by relying on God for strength and wisdom, we shall always overcome satan's temptations. Sexual pervasion ranks high among satan's tools because most of us only think of ourselves when it comes to sexual matters, acts with only our understanding, and end up losing-out to satan. My brother, on behalf of those of us that lacked wisdom at the time of temptation and lost-out satan, remember that God is everywhere, the Angels are watching over you, and you have nothing to gain by disappointing them. May your life be blessed forever and ever Amen. |
@ Tsiya, Thank you so much. From Mr "Before" ![]() |
Which one is Baba Ijebu again? please let us know how it is being played. ![]() |
adexfem:Thanks for responce, I may be doing this on a bigger scale, and want to be sure that the Police will not be automatically placed on my payroll. ![]() I noticed from the customs site that engines are under CET 8407.3xxx.xx The import duty is 5%, and says VAT is also 5%. I think VAT should be paid on purchases, is it true that VAT is also to be paid on imports? Are you trying to paint Mr Smilley or what is the story with those color tags? |
If I understand your question, it is as simple as finding a printing company that can print a quality that will satisfy you on your choice of labelling material, then hire some people to start sticking the labels on your product. |
Based on what Charlesisu have posted so far, I will say dont (at least not now)! This is because I believe that you will have some challenges in North America. There is a level of self-reliance that is needed to thrive in North America; I have not seen this in your posts. (please I dont know you, I am only going by your posts). First off, I cant think of the category that your "immigration lawyer" intend to use for your filing that will make you get your "Residence permit" in 2 years. I can smell some terrible mistakes that people makes and thereafter spend years struggling to recover from the effects, if at all the person recovers. If someone have to help you "package" the application, then there will be some gaps when you arrive and have to start doing everything by yourself. If you are migrating, it should be done at a level that will not destabilize your senses. The following totally kills me: I have envisaged that the first 2 years might be rough but i have enough funds to last me for 5 years, and I believe I would have found my feet by that time, I plan on sending stuffs sellable down to Nigeria to keep my cash flow but lots of people have advised me to stay.Talking about cashflow, I am definitely interested in having an idea of what is fetching you =N=1M/month (seek and you shall find - so they said) I wonder why no one bother asking, perhaps they believe that you wont tell. Just a hint will be fine for me. How much can one make in NA is another factor, but this has been answered by tunnytox The choice is yours, what you'll probably gain going to Canada will be a canadian passport, I really don't see you making up to 1m naira per month in Canada in the short run, but if you have enough capital and have brilliant business orientation you could start to make more than that in the long run, so if you believe you can do this, i'll advise you to go for it while keeping tab on your business in Nigeria.I will just add that long run can be as short as it takes you to settle down- get your accommodation and open your business; provided you have a good business orientation. The income does not have to be in cash, by the time your company pays the better part of your mortgage, pays for your car and other transport expenses, and a company paid staff takes care of your kids, you will not need to earn a big salary. About the weather, yes Canada is really cold. If you are outside when the temperature drops to -5C, you will start to feel the weight of your ears. It is even much lower than that in most areas during winter, but I will say that the weather will be as cold or warm as you want it to be. |

Customs site is back. The engines are under CET 8407.3xxx.xx The import duty is 5%, and says VAT is also 5%. (I think VAT should be paid on purchases??) Can someone please confirm if VAT is also paid on imports. http://www.customs.gov.ng/hscode/resulthscode.php?HSCODE=engine&TYPE=BOTH&MODE=ANY Anyway, let me crunch some numbers and see where I stand. |
I was searching for some of my earlier post and came across this thread where "kafin" was mentioned. Since "Kafin" is my name, I will like to know what it means in Hausa. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-209973.0.html#msg3251393 ==== Ka taka da hankali. . . @Kunle, I am in Toronto and visiting Vancouver. I saw a good source of used engines and car parts in Vancouver, and will like to get some of them into Nigeria. You are taking the documentation of the engines really lightly. Imagine a police officer coming into a warehouse/shop full of used car parts and saying that they have a report that all the items in there were stolen. (I am very sure that the police will do this). The owner WILL HAVE TO BEG and bribe the policeman so that he can be left alone, or probably bribe some higher ranking officer for "protection". All because there is no document showing that the parts were imported. I see some cool business in these parts sales and will do some more research. I will let you know how it goes. |
Kunle-A, thanks for your contribution. I will also like to know the proper way to import used engines. Somebody in Nairaland must have this information! Please help! I tried checking the customs website (http://www.ncs.gov.ng/ and www.customs.gov.ng) but no luck as the sites are down. Can any of the "busy bodies" (original/clones/morphs) help me?? even if you dont know, you should know someone that knows (otherwise you are no longer a busy body)!!! ![]() |
I want to import a 2007 Toyota Sienna, and I intend to put five used engines inside the minivan. Please let me know if I will have to pay more money for clearing if I list the engines and their serial numbers on the shipping documents. Thanks. |
Please I need some advise. I want to ship five used engines and I am concerned about how to document the source of the engines. One (Honda Accord 2003 3.0 l V6) is for a friend while the remaining four (Toyota Camry 2.4 liters) will be up for sale. I intend to ship them along with a minivan so that I won't have to pay extra for shipping and clearing, but the problem is that I will not have a record that the engines were imported. Knowing the amount of importance that our system places on car engines, I can forsee that this will be a problem. For starters, my friend is very concerned that the purchase-receipt from a foreign scrap yard may not be accepted by the police/registration authorities in Nigeria. I thought of listing the engines and the serial numbers on the shipping documents, but I am yet to confirm if this will mean that I have to pay more for clearing. I will appreciate advise/suggestions from people that have imported used engines in the past on how to handle this problem. Thanks. |
Some good options have been suggested. Come to think of it, I paid my landing fees in Cedis as well, but used a draft for the initial payment. You were talking about the rate. . . You know that I am providing a "service" and should not be comparing "my service" with that of the Abokis . All that the Abokis will do is to first take Naira, and then give you Dollars, but I am going way beyond this.Anyway, the rate I quoted is to cover my overheads for a transfer of about $200. I believe that you will be looking at something in the range of 1K to 1.5K, if that is correct, let me know the rate that is OK with you, and exact amount of the draft that you want. These will help me decide if I can be able to get the draft for you. |
Immune#1:Abeg, no allow just-anything that can be printed syndrome to ruin your magazine o oo. I will suggest that you give Niaralanders a taste by posting pdf copy of one of the pages so that we can see what you are offering. |
alanbolo:Ouuch!!, my rate still stands at NGN 175 to USD 1 email me if you are intrested: kafinkata@yahoo.com and we can discuss the terms. I can also take Dollars in US/Canada and pay Naira in Lagos. |
Since the draft has to be issued in Canadian Dollars, you will need to find a bank that has direct relationship with Canadian bank. Some banks in Nigeria surely deals with US banks, but I doubt if any one of them has dealings with Canadian banks. I can help you buy the draft. I will need you to contact, and discuss with my friend in Lagos (Victoria Island). My Rate is NGN 162 to CAD 1 + Cost of FEDEX to get the draft to you. You will pay when you pick the draft. email me if you are intrested: kafinakata@yahoo.com |
yetty123:Emirates does come to Vancouver (I will expect Qatar Airways does as well, but I am not sure). Whichever airline you use, ensure you buy your tickets as a package (unless you have things to do in Toronto). If you buy the ticket from Toronto to Vancouver separately, you will have to pay in advance to get any price advantage. There are lots of possibilities for delays on flights these days and if this happens, the airline will take it that you did not show up for the flight and will not refund anything. It will then be your responsibility to find another flight, and overnight stay if necessary. List of things that might delay you includes: Late take-off or other issues that might make your arrival later than planned Long line at the customs and immigration. Customs/immigration officer "loves your company" and decides to keep you around longer than necessary Time taken to claim your bags and run down to the check-in counter of the carrier for the next flight. I will be in Vancouver during the first three weeks of September as well, let me know if you have any questions. |
I can fund your paypal account. You will pay Naira to my contact in Lagos, and I will pay the corresponding sum into your paypal account. The current rate is NGN175 to USD1 Let me know if you are intrested. |
A big factor is how the money will be received in the US. If you want cash, let me know your state/city so we can decide if it is possible. It is also possible to pay into your online account or pay you via Western Union (but you will have to absorb the cost of transfer). The current cash transfer is NGN175 to USD1. Let me know if you are intrested. You can also email me at kafinkata@yahoo.com |
Check how much it will cost to clear a tear rubber Accent at customs. Price should be about 9 to 11K depending on options, and shipping should be about 1.5K. Why dont you want to but from Hyundai in Nigeria? |
Good analysis by chyjoke, but remember that shelf-life is not same as useage. The trend is moving towards the maintenance-free bateries (know as dry cell in Nigeria) because they are more reliable. One for one, a wet cell will withstand the stay on the shelf better than a Maintenance-free type, but they all come with a date-tag that can show when the batery was manufactured. Also the average Maintenance-free battery have an expected shelf-life of about 1 year. so wet cell is better ko?If you are looking at batteries from the same Manufacturer, Maintenance-free (dry-cell) batteries are better and will cost more. |
@Goldincome, Are you still intrested in funding your Paypal account?? Please say something!! |
Will the payment be made into your paypal account, are you in Lagos, and how soon do you want the money? I am looking at NGN17,000 for the USD100. Let me know if this is OK for you. |
Ayo, Thanks for your reply. My budget is not close to your price. I will try to remember to ping you towards the end of the year, for a plot on the Mainland for around 10M. Thanks, Kafin |
Sorry donx66 , I dont have a personal copy of the software. |
@ Igwe, He needed to convert his Honda Accord to LHD. He must have concluded that Siena is not responding fast-enough. Siena must have gotten tired of all the RHD to LHD conversion requests that kept coming to him with none of them actually becoming a business prospect. |
Some electronic motors and sensors were first added to the carburetor to improve its performance over the original vacuum operated concept. This was before EFI. He mentioned in another post that he is a CAT expert!!!, why would someone with such a skillset be approving a mechanic's advice to replace an electronic-carburetor with a standard type?? What will happen to all the control signals that the electronic unit is sending to, and expecting from the carburetor?? Before you can start troubleshooting any issues, you will need to replace the electronic-carburetor, and move on from there. |
Oga how far naw? Say something abeg ![]() |
? ? ? ![]() |
donx66:Are you CAT trained or just have an opportunity to work on CAT Generators? I am not surprised at the lack of responce to your post because the Forum is more about people that wants to sell and buy Tokunbo cars. I am not an expert, but I can do some fancy stuff with CAT Engines and their electronics. Let me know if you have any specific questions. |
