You were quite vague so I drew my understanding from what you said, that's my own reading between the lines you gave. I basically just asked if you have any update info as you stated that you got some kind of intel. You could also simply say you have no info to divulge but no worries. It's NL so everybody wan show themselves.. We all know NCDMB is a 'board' but it's referred more to as an agency moreso a board. leks4sure: 1 Like |

As there is no update to be had at the moment. Make we no keep our mind fresh with gist and banter (also low-key gingering morale). This one that recruitment timeline fit enter years let's keep ourselves company biko. Life is for the living. As for me the small gist is helping my anxiety. Sure, if credible info comes too we would get updated on the thread too. As far as people are being civil and not fighting and also not spreading false info, no harm done. Ah na wa o. 2yrs and 3yrs for recruitment process before being called. Someone has started a new job, passed through one year probation and can even be promoted sef in that time. Tufiakwa for this country. Abeg may God not shame us with this NCDMB recruitment. I pray for speed and success IJN. Worse than not getting the job sef is the uncertainty of the unknown and the time delay. It is well. kachii77: 1 Like |

My exact thoughts. The way the lack of name on the recruitment is what's making people draw all this conclusions is just funny. Basilekeh: |

I've never applied for nnpc and dpr so I don't know how the process was but the fact that they didn't (NCDMB) put their name out means next to nothing tbh. Let's stop drawing plenty graphics from that one act. Highest it may reduce the number of applicants. I know a lot of all these speculations and glorifying of NCDMB process (and the integrity of the agency and its ES) which we are not aware of is just to make ourselves feel better and not lose hope which is not a crime. But don't talk yourself into forgetting the country you're in or how things work in reality. The other five MPR agencies you mentioned apart from nnpc and dpr and how their recruitment is coded because they are avoiding politicians and they want meritocracy is almost laughable but it's just too sad. The one I know of their gist is PPRA, first hand info, saw with my own eyes through the whole process. They basically called the person and said Bleep minister recommended you for this recruitment (in my front, no be dem say), no submission of CV anywhere or application portal or process . The person went, in one week wrote exam, did interview and a month after APL came. I for chook head but they said they were looking for 1st class and 2:1. Even for the exam every body there was as a result of connect because the recruitment wasn't listed anywhere how else will you know if not for connect. Some people still didn't get it, connect pass connect and maybe they had certain requirements (like the grades, or the roles didn't fit, I no know) that they didn't meet up to but e sure me die say everybody that was employed in last year's PPPRA recruitment down to JS staff is connect. I don't have personal info on PEF but we dey hear their gist too. So I know we want to believe the autonomy of NCDMB and how they will surprise us but there's no how the presidency won't have his slot, Minister of Petroleum won't have his slot and other key personnel. If they like let them be as honest as a pope. The ES himself in as much as he was probably qualified for the job, we all know that it's the current Minister of Petroleum that was his connect to lobby the President to get that position. Word getting to me is that the politics has been done and he is going to be reinstated. After the President and MPR have basically renewed your tenure in your office. You'll now tell me that you are hiring and they won't get their slots for people if they want . Independent consultant or not, abeg if you get strong connection especially from Presidency to Minister of Petroleum, go and press it o. And get proper update for we that are hoping that even if they use 70% for connect let meritocracy favour us for the 30%. I really hope they are fair enough to do a high % of the recruitment with meritocracy sha but let's try to calm down with the hero worship and portraying of what is not. No be today we wan change the reality of what this country is. leks4sure: 6 Likes |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: OilandGasJobs Recruitment 2020 by Kaleidoscope96: 5:29pm On Aug 01, 2020 |
That's why I said it's speculation. And the 50 might just be for one set (GT or EH) not the entirety of the recruitment. As you said fingers crossed. Abokii8: |

Long post guys...... Hi guys I'm impatiently waiting for aptitude tests and interview. As I'm here I'm ready to start work tomorrow lol. Anyways with regards the number of spots no one can be certain but it's definitely not 3,000. I follow the ncdmb page on Twitter and they are very present there. They've tweeted a lot about job creation sometimes they say 3,000 sometimes it's 10,000 but you have to read well to understand that they mean using their agency and the collaborations they have with oil companies, the trainings they do (not graduate trainee), things like the NLNG Train 7 project that will soon commence and other avenues to create those thousands of jobs. But as for this particular recruitment I heard from a little bird who is connected to the MPR that it's not a high intake (he said maybe 50 but then he didn't specify whether for just GT or EH or both). Another thing you need to factor in is that all of this I speculation. They may hire 50, 100, 150, or 200 nobody knows exactly except the ES and his people but definitely not 3,000. Let's not use the 17storey building and be deceived Ncdmb works hard but as an agency if you go through their info on what they do they don't need staff strength of up to 3,000. When they did the handover ceremony of the building from the company that constructed it to the ES and co, they tweeted it live and some people asked questions and the ES and the agencies twitter handle also replied. The implication I got is that the whole 17stories will not just be used by NCDMB (wetin dem dey do with the space ni). Some of it will be leased/ rented out as they have to make revenue off it. Things like their 1k seater conference room will also definitely be rented out on a steady. So don't use the building as a benchmark to gauge the number of staff they need. It's not like they have offices across all the 36 states. Also with regards to recruitment process being through merit and connect I've been seeing here. Just to add my two cents. I believe ncdmb is somewhat credible as an agency and will honour both federal character and give some opportunity for merit to take place but don't be deceived na still Nigeria we dey and connect will DEFINITELY be used. Presidency, MPR, a couple other people directly involved and even the ES will have people that they will use connect to give slots to. The only difference I think is that connect usage might not be very intense and mainstream like other agencies mostly because news of the recruitment is not 1) widespread 2) I don't think ncdmb has dabaru yet to the point of selling slots, major key people will just be told to send their people they want employed. 3) I feel lots of people that don't really know what's up look down on ncdmb especially because it's in Yenagoa and it's not loud like other petroleum parastatals so pray all the connect people don't want to move to Yenagoa as it would reduce the pressure and give more space to people on merit So I believe that merit will still be honoured at least to a decent degree but don't go in thinking that because it's NCDMB connect will not be used to influence it but still don't despair and pray that you pull through and if you have major connect in the petroleum space, goodluck to you. Me I'm just itching to get it over with (exam and interview) so I can know my fate and move on to other hustle if this one doesn't favour me. |

I just realised that the current ES of the NCDMB's tenure is to elapse by September. Then he'll either be reinstated or a new ES will be appointed. I really hope he plans on finishing the recruitment before that. Often times a change in management of an agency can delay and mess with on going recruitment for a long time. Does anyone have any inside info on when they plan on wrapping the process up and sending APL's. Also when the test will be. I'm happy that there was an extension so other people had a chance to apply but I really wish it would move fast. I'm eager to know my fate and move on if I don't get it. Me I'm also still curious about their pay and if they give upfront and other allowances too that 2 Likes |

Hi, so I've applied for the oilandgas job listed and it was successful. I live in Abuja and from the advert the role is based in their HQ in Bayelsa if it's ncdmb or PH if it's OGFZA. I don't know if I'll get it or not but I'm hopeful. I guess if it's either agency I'm curious about three things. 1) how much the possible pay will be plus possible allowances. Actual figures will help 2) if it's to work and be absorbed into the actual agency or trained and be left to look for something else. 3) how long the actual recruitment might take before successful candidates can start work. Rumours are that it could take till next year or it could be August/September this year.. I'm really curious about the pay cause I want to know if it's something worth moving to another state for or if I should look for something else (another agency) in Abuja ( I live in Abuja). Then my worry about the time period for the recruitment is because my running rent expires soon so that will help me know whether or not to renew or not. Please and please, this information will be very helpful to me. Also you can reach me on my mail tahreetari@gmail.com Thanks for all your help. A new nairalander. TammyAnybody: 1 Like |
