This is our little contribution to make it easier for you to sponsor at least 10 people from your village, community you live, your religious organisation, e.t.c and create automatic employment for them as they will be empowered beyond measures after the training. #RemainBlessed

My Water Leaf plot this morning...about 10 days after planting, ready for first harvest!

AgricultureRe: Make 200,000 Naira Or More Monthly Growing Indigenous Vegetables this Dry Season by Kalusam(op): 4:46pm On Jan 20, 2016
I did some little Market survey around Ikorodu Vegie market(Sabo area) yesterday morning and got some nice info. Water Leaf, which apparently sells in rice bags, sold for N6,000 per bag last week and you can get 20 bags comfortably per harvest on 1 plot (666m2) and you can harvest CONTINOUSLY 3 - 4 times per month!.

I don't mean to excite you, but until you know...you don't know nothing!

The worst price you will ever sell per bag is N2,500, so with hard work and perseverance and with God's blessings 20 bags is sure on 1 plot of 666m2.

My assignment for the doubting thomases, go and do your own market survey and ask several people to get an average price...Cheers!

Thanks for your question, this training will benefit people who have an available land near them to practice what they have learnt. If you are interested in this training and do not have land or space, I advise you start looking for a small plot to lease around you...or within transportable distance. I know there are lands in Agege, Ipaja/Ayobo, Igando, LASU Side, Badagry, Ajah, Epe, Ikorodu and other areas of Lagos available for farm lease purposes. Ask friends in any of this areas and look around yourself...Cheers.
korede101:
is there availability of land to start after training .......because i believe after any training application of the skill should follow.

Its no problems...just wanted to know why i didn't hear from you. As regards drip irrigation tube and kits; when i had them in stock no one needed them despite my Ads and contacts on this page! I don't want to import something into the country(in this high USD periods) and my money tied down, hence I am only sticking to pre-order for now.

Afterthought: If I get enough drip irrigation pre-orders I will arrange combined sea shipping(to make it come in cheaper). By this notice, anyone needing drip irrigation kits should kindly inform me by indicating how many orders they need here so I can see how to help. Thanks
Jesusbaby6:
sorry sir. I was advised to go for drip and you said you don't sell drip anymore.

AgricultureRe: Make 200,000 Naira Or More Monthly Growing Indigenous Vegetables this Dry Season by Kalusam(op): 6:11pm On Jan 17, 2016
Yes, after over 2 months it produces seeds(as shown in the picture) But I usually don't allow them to grow to such before I harvest!
Pavore9:
@Kalusam, does your Amaranth produces such?
AgricultureRe: Make 200,000 Naira Or More Monthly Growing Indigenous Vegetables this Dry Season by Kalusam(op): 3:18pm On Jan 17, 2016
Thanks for your wonderful observation. Please note the following however, (1) I am trying to know people who are interested in the program first, this will enable proper planning. (2) I can ONLY give directions when I know where people are coming from and also putting directions to my farm on a public forum is not in my best interest. (3) I run a human centred program designed and as such I run a flexible period or session(4 hours), even if run from 8am to 12 noon, someone in Ajah axis and Ikorodu axis can still meetup because of close proximity but someone in Agege won't. so, anytime any registered group of trainees are on the farm, they will be trained for 4 hours! Hope you have be clarified sir, Thanks
Newway2:
The training shld hv period or session. Morning or afternoon & time frame: e.g 10am-2pm
Also, there shld be a direction of how to get to your farm from Oshodi, Ikeja, Agege & from Epe proper. Know that not everybody knows Epe
AgricultureMake 200,000 Naira Or More Monthly Growing Indigenous Vegetables this Dry Season by Kalusam(op):
Am sure the first thing on your mind when you saw the caption was...its impossible! Well, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. Whether you believe it or not this dry season will generate money for those who are (1) Smart. (2) See the opportunities. (3) Are ready to make money!

Back to the main gist. Do you know you can be making up to 50,000+ per harvest from your Telferia(Ugu), Chocorus(Ewedu), Amaranth(Efo and Soko), Water Leaf(Gwure) on a limited space of a plot(666m2) in Lagos?

Why indigenous vegetables?
Unlike the exotic ones, they are more hardy and resistance to disease, so no mildew(powdery and downy), no virus this or bacteria that, pest infestation can be easily managed and controlled. Secondly, everyday people must eat any of them...in fact Mama put and 'Iya come chop', Calabar Kitchen et al. cannot survive without them, hence you have a ready market.

If you are in doubt then join us on the farm any day from 1st to 15th February, 2016(Except Sundays) as I take you through the rudiments of growing our indigenous vegetables successfully with limited space and how you can start maximising profits in less than a month.

Training Fee: NGN5,000
Duration: 4 hours
Date: From 1st till 15th February, 2016(Except Sundays)
Venue: Epe, Lagos

Interested? Send the message: <Name> <Space> <I am Interested> to the number: 08027833353 or Whatsapp: 07036931636.

AgricultureRe: Creating Our Own Supply Chain Vegetable Mega Store by Kalusam(m): 11:02pm On Jan 03, 2016
Great Insight I must say!
Newway2:
OUR OWN SUPPLY CHAIN VEGETABLE MEGA STORE
I blv the time is ripe for a "Farm-Gate" vegetable maga store (in our major cities) in Nigeria where every registered vegetable farmer cld supply or sell or offload their vegetables straight from the farm to the shelves. Must we always wait for foreigners (Shoprite & co) to think & do things for us? Why not let's create our own vegetable supply chain like "Zucinni" shown by Oga @pavore9 in the pix?

If we do this, lots of young & educated farmers will be encouraged to do farming because the market is there & they can get premium price for their fresh vegetables.

THINGS TO CONSIDER
1) All registered farmer's farm must be certified to be organic (as much as possible).
2) There will be an agreed standard or fixed price for each farm produce or item supplied to the store.
3) Create s standard selling price for each vegetable. I blv @pavore9 cld help us here
3) it cld be formed as a cooperative or a limited liability company or we can get an investor to just build solley for groceries.

If Shoprite is doing it & making profit, then we can equally do it. Afterall Globacom showed us that Nigerians too cld run a succesfull telecomms company.

Let all known vegetable farmers on Nairaland think abt this as doable in 2016.

HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE.

Over to all known gurus in the house.
