I am following keenly because I know how important this is to me ATM.

Sorry, I haven't been posting pictures of the Jasper 'chai thai' cucumbers I planted...I have not been in Lagos for sometimes now but I got report that they have 4 leafs now. Will post pictures as soon as I get them!

For any youth co-operative farming to be effective, the young farmers should:
(1) Get specialized trainings on the various crops they want to go into.
(2) Get quality seeds, and low cost technologies and innovations.
(3) Be 2 to 3 people who are focused and determined to succeed and build a team of like minded individuals.
(4) Have something to fall back on, should not depend on anyone or any institution for funds for their project. Meaning they should have saved money from previous work or business.
(5) They should have a realistic budget and have enough funds to achieve it!
(6) They should be ready to relocate to the rural areas or areas with an abundant and affordable land.
(7) They should understand their market or consumers and grow products that their market demands!
( They should properly plan and manage the Agribusiness financially!

Now this are few of the basis or keys to success, if you as a youth can apply all of these then congratulations...good bye to unemployment and poverty!

Thanks for the encouraging words. First, I only got sample seeds from Jasper...they were not even enough for the beds I made.

Yes, does well on all crops but more effective for vegetables.

I just went to purchase my. Murano 2F1 cucumber seeds from soloxam today!!! And guess what? He gave me free hybrid tomato seeds!!!.... I must confess soloxam and jasper7 are doing a great job. THANK you so much kalusam. For those That wants to know kalusam, he is the guy wearing long sleeves. He can supply you with reputable seeds from technisem.

Many months after writing this, I met Jasper7 a cucumber farmer who grows his crops using this technology. I don't think it was a co-incidence

This model for growing Pineapple using nylon covers should be applied to other crops like water melon and cucumber to discourage weed growing. I think this will go a long way in controlling weeds, as manual weeding may destroy the vines thereby adversely affecting output or what do you guys think?

Yea, it has also been through 'hard times' in my traveling bag too...i didn't give it breathing space. It is well!

Germination rate was like about 70% on first bed(Mulched with composted poultry droppings) and 30-40% on the second and third beds with none!

Cucumbers this morning 4/1/2015 - Day 6. Had to resupply in some areas not sprouted yet!

I love this part: 'Change your default settings." It means a lot to me!

Oga, which breed of Layers lays 2 eggs per day? Do you have a layers farm, if yes...I will love to come around and see your birds so I can buy those breeds in my next breeding cycle. @OP, Poultry is profitable if well managed but don't expect extraordinary profit if you are farming in areas where you have stiff competitive market. My own 2 kobo!

Yay!!! My Cucumbers fully emerged yesterday, though I noticed some insects eating up the seed leafs, will have to resupply on those areas this evening and take pictures then. Keep following Day 6 today 3/1/2015.

Planted the seeds yesterday evening, expecting them to sprout soon. The Count down begins...Day 1!

This farm is in Lagos. These are beds not ridges. They are 1m wide and 6m long.
