I only make orders from aliexpress or gearbest for my personal needs, so buying and selling phones is not my priority for now. If i'd wanted to i would have delve into that business long time ago, and believe me i would make a fortune out of it becouse I know the ins and outs, a lot of nairanders are doing it successfully. Back to our topic it should interest you to know that currently there is an android phone of 12k on konga, so yes it is possible.

I was expecting a hands on review, but this is merely a highlight of what to expect from the phone.

Dude, this exchange rate you guys are blowing it out of proportion, just recently i made an order from gearbest.com, and guess what? I was charged N325 per dollar. So at $48 using my GTBank mastercard the oukitel C3 will cost me just 15,600, that's less than 16k. The fact that i can't use a 512 ram phone doesn't mean everybody can't, so you also missed it, i know thousands of ladies that would gladly accept a phone with even 2mp camera, everyone of us has his own level, as i said earlier there is life outside nairaland. My younger sibling bought a new phone Bontel, he was very excited about it and show it to me, the phone have a 5.5" with a very sleek design like iphone 6, after checking it i discovered it has only 512mb ram and 4gb rom and he's happy with it becouse that's own level. BTW I am not specific about tecno alone, OP mentioned three companies so if tecno can't do it hopefully others will.

I think you don't get it, a 20k phone does not have to be substandard, there are less than $50 dollar phones with 1gb ram check aliexpress you will understand what i mean, besides not every smartphone user give a damn about RAM, in fact about 70% of smartphone users in nigeria doesn't know anything about RAM especially females, i know this becouse i have a lot of clients, all they care about is the basics like camera, instagram, chatting on facebook, twitter and whatsapp. What we read and write here on nairaland is very diffrent from whats going on out there. Personally i can't use a smartphone with 512 RAM, but thats me, i know millions of nigerians wouldn't mind using a 4" 512 ram 4gb rom as long as it will not drain their pockets.

Start producing MTK (spreadthrum sucks) devices with at least 2GB ram, this is my honest advice to you.

tell that to a novice! I have used at least 5 Tecno phones and 5 Gionee phones, two infinix phones so I'm in a best position to judge for myself which one is more durable, but definitely it's not Tecno.

You can get one with excellent battery at about ₦26k. Search for the L5. Camera is not so superb. Better camera starts from Camon C8

your post highlight one of the reasons why some nairalanders hate Tecno with passion! How on earth do you expect a person with fair knowledge of smartphones buy that power bank for 26k? When the likes of Infinix Hot2 and Gionee P5W all selling below 25k? As at now, there's no Tecno phone with similar specs with those two phones I mentioned that is selling below 30k.

I have just flashed the CM12 rom, I have noticed a bug with the dialer, it doesn't show ussd results like checking account balance etc, and the contact is not showing any number. I restore my stock rom for now until I have a solution or a better rom.

The best thing to do I think is root first, install TWRP recovery then backup your stock kitkat rom, since the phone is very popular worldwide I'm sure you will find a lot of lollipop custom roms, find the one that suits you and flash, if there is any bug found or you just want your kitkat back you can easily restore through TWRP recovery.

if your phone is rooted try chamelephone app to change your imie because mobile uncle and mtk tools won't do it for you, the phone is very stubborn when it comes to changing imei.

Next time use pararell market rate because at the moment no bank will give you dollar at CBN rate and you can't get it yourself directly from CBN, nice phone though.

With the current exchange rate $69.99 dollars is approximately 22k in naira not 13k.
