It seems the problem with logistic right now is more of NIPOST than Singpost or AESS. Accepted that covid had it's own toll on them but they seem to be trying their best to get items across.

NIPOST here however seems to have enjoyed the lockdown (salary without work) so much so that they are not willing to get back to normal and routine work of transporting and delivering parcels within the country. At least we have gotten stories of guys here that got to the post office to insist that their arrived parcel (according to tracking) be searched for, something which they did and found out it had gathered dust in their storage. It seems Lagos people are not forwarding parcels to other PO nationwide, or if they do then they are doing it in trickles. I strongly believe that many of our pending deliveries are like that.

Do they have a Twitter handle that someone could bombard then to force 'em to giddy up?

exactly, my package has arrived Lagos on 18th of this month, but it is yet to be sent to my local post office in Jos. Before covid-19 I usually get it here in less than a week after it arrives Lagos.

Lower your price so you may sell plenty. The 1GB/16GB version should be 25k, 2GB/32GB version should be 30k while the pro LTE should go for 35k. This is friendly advice, only the tech illiterate will buy these phones at the current price especially in this covid-19 recession

it is not my intention to derail the thread, however it is imperative to let them know that their products are overpriced, I don't care about the performance as long as the price is right.

there is another one too called Sunyoo, it is also very fast like the other two. I have have been using them since last year, their downside is they don't handle phones and other expensive items.

Package took exactly 14 days to arrive Lagos from China, let's see how long it takes to arrive final destination in Jos.

the other two options are the same, because if you choose Aliexpres standard shipping, it will still be shipped via Singapore post which is the second option.

So now our inefficient NIPOST will be the course of our misery, to even update tracking information on the website is difficult for them, despite the fact that someone is being paid every month for that task. By the way, is NIPOST website still available? I've been trying it for days now without luck.

Yeah, the problem is mostly from NIPOST, an item could arrive Nigeria within two weeks but poor distribution service locally is the problem.

Shipped on July 4th l it is already on its way to Nigeria.

exactly, that's why I always advice people to buy their phones locally at this time, it is better to add a few more thousands of naira than wait for 3 months without getting your phone. When this pandemic is over hopefully early next year we shall all continue our shopping for cheaper phones on aliexpress.

just be patient, you will get update maybe next week, but I don't think it is advisable to buy a phone or anything that you need urgently from aliexpress at this time of international logistics problems due to covid 19. I have a June order too but it is just a DIY power bank box which I wouldn't mind if takes months to arrive, anything I need urgently, I will source for it here locally including phone. We have many trusted resellers of phones and accessories here on nairaland.

yes I'm quite aware of that, if NIPOST can resume work optimally at least one problem out of two is eliminated, now we wil face only that of international logistics.

Since this lock down was relaxed and the subsequent lifting of ban on interstate movements, I decided to test the waters on aliexpress with just a 5$ order on 30th June, it was shipped this morning 4th of July through Yanwen airmail with a 90 days BP.

I bought 2 Umidigi Devices. One Umidigi Power for myself and A5 Pro for my brother.
Right now both phones are packed up after going off on its own with the interval being 1 week. I have taken it to phone engineers and they said the panels are brain dead.

UMIDIGI Devices has got to be the WORST Phone I've used in my life.

Yeah it has, just confirmed from Gsmarena and both phones have type C charging port. I still think the 9A should also have a fingerprint scanner but at just 85$ that's about 35k one can not ask for too much.

check again, there is no finger print on both phones, even Gsmarena did not mention it in the preliminary specs. The only difference between the two phones is camera set up and the processor.

Seems Xiaomi has sworn to never use a fingerprint scanner on its entry level phones, I can overlook the micro USB port but no fingerprint on a phone close to 100$ is a turn off, my opinion though.

Finally, interstate travel restrictions have been lifted by FG, hopefully our post offices will resume normal activities.

good news, now I can make my first order since December last year, I wil start with a less than 10$ item first and see how it goes.
