M5 also comes with 64 bit processor like Phantom 5. Even Gionee M3 mini of 17k has a 64 bit processor it's not a big deal, I would a choose M5 over Phantom 5 any day any time, 6000mah battery is more important to me than a useless finger print scanner.

They are arguably the best Chinese smartphone brand in Nigeria but their marketing strategy is the worst so far, they have no dedicated website for Africa let alone Nigeria, even their Nigeria Facebook page is only updated once in like 3 months. If Gionee can step up their game like Infinix, Tecno and Innjoo I am sure they will rule Nigeria market because they already have the potential to do so, their phones are durable and cheaper than other Chinese brands.

Chai!!! Gionee don vex ooo. This will kill Phantom 5 market because of the price and specs, $260 is approximately 51k but when the phone is launched here in Nigeria it may cost less than that.

Tecno L6 has a 5"inch screen and 4000mah battery sold for around 23k. Gionee M3 mini has a 4.5" inch screen plus 4000mah battery, latest version of Android 5.1, it also has a very good camera sold for 17k. So if you want a bigger screen and good battery go for L6, if you want a better battery and overall performance at a cheaper price go for M3 mini.

The two phones are not in any way comparable to each other, hote note is a midrange phone while M3 mini is a low end phone. Just get the one that suit your needs.

move the obb folder to internal memory and try again

When some of us complain about the 1gb ram Tecno fan boys were quick to dismissed the complaints because it has a 13mp camera, some of them even said it can perform better than a phone with 2gb ram, little did they know that it will come back to hurt them. I don't hate Tecno but I can't buy a phone for 25k with 1gb ram in 2015 when phones under 15k are equipped with the same 1gb ram.

New version of kingroot 4.5.2 is showing me root strategy is available unlike the previous version that shows no strategy available, but the phone is yet to get rooted maybe because of poor network I don't know. Somebody should try the new version with a strong network.

Don't bother yourself, The bootloader of this phone is locked! It can't be rooted now you need to unlock the bootloader first, we are still waiting for the gurus to come up with something or maybe a later version of kingroot can do the magic.

Nice phone with awesome battery, for me the selling point of this phone is the price tag because at 16,500 the phone comes with 4G LTE, 64 bit processor and 4000mah battery and as usual a very good 5mp camera, this phone is a steal for that price. In other words it's the cheapest LTE phone in Nigeria. Thank you Gionee my P4 successor has arrived.

The specs are similar to that of the Tecno Camon C8 but Tecno made sure it came with dual flash at the back for great pictures even at low lit conditions or at night and also a dedicated flash at the front for better selfies, only diference the camon c8 came with a 1gig ram and costs 25k, the M5 has strong competitors i guess it's edge will be it's battery but i doudt if that would be enough to win a review against the Tecno Camon C8 or a better match Samsung J7 or Tecno Phantom 5

Bro check their specs again, M5 is no match for C8, it killed Camon C8 in everything including camera, there's a thread already opened to show the camera performance of M5 you will be amazed at the picture quality produce by M5 it's what a real 13mp can do. You should be comparing M5 with Phantom 5.

Yes you can change your Imei number on this phone, mobile uncle and MTK tools works without rooting.

Your Halo have an advantage of bigger screen only and I love that, but do not mention battery when comparing Gionee with other Chinese phone like Innjoo, you know why? Gionee fones are well known for good battery. M2 mini has a 3000mah battery it will outperform your Halo with 3200mah regardless of the screen size.

A direct competitor to Phantom 5 in Nigeria with an equal specs and cheaper price, but the Tecno will still outsell the Orbra because of fan boyish factor. Me think 55k is still high for this phone considering it's an unknown brand, if I were to spend 55k on a phone I would buy UMI Iron or Ulefone Be touch 2 for less than that from importers here on nairaland Elijahdre and co, or better still Gionee M5 43k with super battery.

the fashion series of Gionee fones is a new one and they will be releasing fones with the F letter just like M2 of marathon series, P4 of Pioneer series, E7 of the E series, S5.1 of the S series and CTRL V5 of the CTRL series. The F103 is the first in the fashion series so I think Gionee may introduced it later to Nigerian market.

I always trust Gionee with their camera, in fact all their specs are true.

no gionee M4, you can go and buy M3 or M5. M3 are same spec as M4

actually M4 is better than M3, it has 16GB rom and 2gb ram, 8mp back and 5mp front camera and it comes with lollipop while M3 has 8GB rom, 1GB ram 8mp back and 2mp front camera and it comes with kit kat though you can upgrade to lollipop. M4 is not yet available for Nigerian market, it may not come after all since they have already launched its successor M5 here.
