PhonesRe: Is Nokia 2.3 A Good Phone? by Kamaye(m): 6:02pm On Jun 26, 2020
Norman4real:
I've held one before, and I can say it has only two positives, a clean UI and a very good display panel (despite it being 720p). Otherwise it uses an entry level Mtk A22, doesn't have fingerprint scanner, mediocre camera, battery capacity is small and has low RAM/ROM. It would be ideal as a side phone to accompany your main one but if u are looking for good performance then it won't be favourable regardless of how many software updates it receives.
battery capacity is small? I doubt if you are talking about 2.3 because it is a 4000mah battery, which is not small by all standards.

2 to 3 days, in some cases within 24 hours. Using aliexpress standard shipping as a yard stick, your order of 16th May would have arrived since.

PhonesRe: Nokia C2 Announced In Nigeria. Nokia 5.3 Coming Soon by Kamaye(m): 5:30pm On Jun 14, 2020
As usual, Nigerians are taking for granted. There is Nokia 1.3 released before this one, it is a better device with similar specs but snapdragon chipset, a water drop display, better battery and OTG function, but I wonder why Nokia has not introduced it to Nigeria market.

PhonesRe: Ongoing Tech War Between Tecno, Infinix And Xiaomi Promoters(opinion) by Kamaye(m): 8:45am On Jun 07, 2020
I don't really have a favorite brand, I used Tecno, Gionee and infinix in the past, so I don't have a problem buying any of them if the price is right, because price is my issue with transsion devices, they would use a poor and outdated chipset on their device and slam a huge price tag on it, take for example the recently launched itel p36 pro with a unisoc chipset and selling for 43k, I don't really have problems with the phone itself but price is too expensive, it would be a scam to sell that phone 30k let alone 43k. Tecno spark 5 and infinix hot 9 are both selling for more than 50k, to me this is an extortion when you can get better devices at a lower price. I have never used a Xiaomi phone, but I feel they offer more value for money, look at the specs redmi 8a of 37k for example despite its lack of finger print sensor(what I dislike about the phone) can match or even beat the spark 5 in performance.

You know a brand is truly horrible when they treate 4G lte like a premium feature in 2020.

Transsion is truly a backward company.
yes o the moment I saw the name "itel p36 pro LTE" I was like, is there any none 4G smartphone in 2020?

PhonesRe: Nobody's Talking About VIVO PHONES On Nairaland. Why?? by Kamaye(m): 8:35am On Jun 02, 2020
Vivo has just released the X50 pro+ with snapdragon 865 chipset, 12GB RAM and 256Gb ROM. those who think VIVO does not produce flagship phones, don't anything about the company except its name.
PhonesRe: Nobody's Talking About VIVO PHONES On Nairaland. Why?? by Kamaye(m): 6:10pm On May 31, 2020
OP should state clearly the type of vivo phones he is talking about, because some people may think you are talking about those outdated refurbished vivo phones from 2013.
PhonesRe: Tecno Is Selling The New Spark 5 For 53k??? by Kamaye(op): 10:46pm On May 30, 2020
MayenKudi:
not really, considering the specs i would love to compare it with the Redmi 8a since they are both 2gb RAM, 32GB ROM and 5000 mah devices, the redmi 8a goes for about 47k in Nigeria while the spark 5 is 49k. One could say the Redmi 8a was released months ago, but then they share majorly the same specs and in present day with all the price hike the spark 5 retails for for just 2k more, that should tell you its way relatively cheaper. this is just for redm8a, a 2gb samsung device with a 32 gb rom and 3400 mah battery is the galaxy a10 released last year its prices starts from around 49k, 52k precisely on konga as of today, these are just two other brands, compare it this way with others too and you will understand budget friendliness of devices in another perpective.
Check this out! Redmi 8a 3/32 variant is around 37k while the 4/64 variant is just 42k. The only possible explanation here is tecno and infinix are just taking advantage of this pandemic to exploit Nigerians further cos I saw Hot 9 also selling for 56k in most retail shops.

PhonesRe: Tecno Is Selling The New Spark 5 For 53k??? by Kamaye(op): 9:28pm On May 30, 2020
MayenKudi:
53k?? well the price they psoted online for the spark 5 was 49k and 47k for the spark 5 air moreover most things now are more expensive due to the pandemic.
it is still expensive even at 49k, the argument here is there are cheaper phones with much more better specs in the market, of course this pandemic has affected the prices of almost everything but considering the specs of spark 5, it shouldn't exceed 40k.

Same redmni note is sold for N58,990 on same jumia, who is deceiving who.
you got it wrong, there is a difference between redmi 8 and redmi note 8, check the pictures I posted. So even if it is the redmi note 8 compared with the spark 5 you would agree with me that the Tecno is highly overpriced.
PhonesTecno Is Selling The New Spark 5 For 53k??? by Kamaye(op): 2:56pm On May 28, 2020
To say that I was surprised when saw the price on jumia is understatement, like seriously? I think only a novice would buy at that price when a much more better option like redmi 8 is available at a much lower price.

Hi, I updated to Android 10 on my 3.2 three days ago and I've been having mobile Internet problems, in most cases I have to switch off and on data to get connected, updating apps is difficult but these problems seem to disappear once I connect to WiFi. I currently use MTN.

Did you experience similar problems?
that problem is peculiar to MTN and Airtel networks though not always. I'm not using a Nokia phone but I'm encountering same problem from time to time.
Technology MarketRe: This Thread Is Only For Aliexpress Shopper by Kamaye(m): 6:02pm On May 10, 2020
I think people should stop buying from AliExpress for the mean time. Your item may be shipped and arrive in destination country but it won't be delivered to you because of this lock down, the item may get lost in the process. It is better to wait until the storm is over.
PhonesRe: My 4G Mtn Sim Not Compatible With My New Nokia 3.1 by Kamaye(m): 10:55pm On May 08, 2020
It should support MTN 4G, probably your location have no 4G coverage or your MTN SIM is not 4G compliant, it could also be a temporary network issue.
PhonesRe: Xiaomi Is Winning, Tecno/infinix/itel Are Losing by Kamaye(m): 5:42pm On Apr 28, 2020

Anyone who buys this for 30k, please don't ever call yourself smart.
You have the realme c3, redmi 8 and numerous better options.
I am never spending a dime on anything transision.
With a gun to my head, I might pick this device for 15k...
But it's a might, dying is probably better than the amount of regret that comes embedded in anything transision.
we may hate transsion products but I think 30k for this phone is a good buy, no phone can offer better specs at this price, all the alternatives you have mentioned are way more than 30k.

It's because Nigeria lack standard such phone ougth not to have allowed into Nigeria market.. Nokia still don't realise Nigeria has grown up interms of technology..
so if Nigeria have "standards" what would be the reason for not allowing the phone into our market? Is there any health hazard associated with the phone? Hundreds of thousands of Nigerians would gladly buy it because they can't afford a 30k+ phone, BTW, the phone is not meant for Nigeria market only, it is sold globally, check GSMarena and read reviews from users in different countries.
