So what's the point of looking for a realiable driver when you can just book on the App and get matched to a driver?

I fear I may not find a ride that early. Hence the plan B.

Do you have a driver you can recommend?

Pocohantas another one on Bolt. If Izzou eventually marries you (Please help his life because he is a nice guy), how would you feel if he recounts this horrible experience to you as your husband?

Poco, On bolt, there has never been a cancellation fee. Infact, On Uber, a rider has 5 minutes after your arrival. If the driver cancels after the 5 minutes, Uber charges rider 400. It even used to be 1,000.

I saw a thread where you were addressing the menace of African time. Very wonderful. I learnt a lot. If per se izzou should get serious with his life and decide to propose.... Pocohantas how would you feel, on your wedding day with izzou if he arrives 30 minutes into the wedding mass? Won't you flare up?

Lol. For me taking rides in the morning around LEkki axis is becoming increasingly difficult especially when you have to enter these co called estates where the rider needs to call the security before you are allowed entry. They can waste your time and airtime. After about 30 mins of getting to PU, calling back and forth and still waiting at the house, ride would not exceed 700. Uber takes their 25%, you know the rest.

How would I not almost vent on the next randy rider who asks if AC is not on without even entering the car yet at about 11:30 am.

Most bolt riders are highly manipulative, cunny, scheming, crafty, shrewd, machiavellian and devious. A bolt rider can request you and he or she is not even ready for the trip in the next 50 minutes.

A bolt rider will want you to arrive and wait for him or her under the sun. So that whenever she finishes the rubbish that is holding her inside her house, an airconditioned car is already outside waiting for her to enter. They don't want to suffer but want drivers to suffer.

Infact, I don't know why blacks are usually very useless regarding time management. Thats why we are were we are as a country.

Let me use an example to buttress my point. I was at Festac and a trip came in heading to local airport. I called this pig and asked him if he is ready to move. The pig said yes. Can you imagine that 30 minutes after my arrival and calling this young man severally, this man ended up doing what I always run away from. Time wasters! Byt trust me to deal with him ruthlessly.

When he eventually came out with 5 boxes, he screamed Oga open your booth. No apologies whatsoever. I simply wind down my glass and asked;

"Oga how do you want your thunder to arrive? Deep fried, boiled or smoking Hot? E be like say something they worry you for head abi? If you enter this car today, make I shiit stone. Common get out of here joor you morropy. Now as you are ready to move, stand under this hot sun and make a request. Stay only 5 minutes while waiting for your driver and see what I endured for 30 minutes".

I ended trip and ran away. Rider was behind me looking confusedly.

The internet surely never forgets unless you retrace your steps and clear your footprints on the internet.

Really laughed my ass out here.

Please o, what is the effect of a low rating on Uber. Dem winches keep on misbehaving and expect one to worship them.

I had my windows down at around 11 30 am waiting for a rider after I have driven round and round due to map not pin pointing their location. I also called severally. They were 3 and of course females.

No greeting, no apology, standing outside she retorted, "Is your AC not working"?

I responded with a firm tome "of course it is". NA wetin earn me 1 star be that o. Comments started, Ehn, why are you being defensive, she asked a simple question. Do I not know that some Uber drivers do not have AC.

I was tempted to respond that she asked a rather foolish question. Although I for no vex, I was having a bad day already and was rushing home.

Things we see.

This thread can lead one into depression. While reading people's comments, I went to the Canadian CRS to see how I will fair at 32 (2024) after my 2 years online masters, I am still struggling with 445. Currently the minimum score is 471, by 3 years time, it may be 500 or more.

I think while we share our bitter experiences, we can also encourage the downtrodden among us with good words. I earn way above 200k and I still do Uber as side hustle and I also own a bike for dispatch. I am at least comfortable, but for how long?

This thread can lead to depression abeg. So may thoughts of the future.

Wrong application of religious beliefs contribute to multiple children. My 3rd child is an example of that. Noone thought me before I spent a paltry #2,500 for a 5 year prevention of pregnancy for my wife. Something some religious folks would still tell us not to.

I could go on and on. I had these thoughts before getting married at 24.

Abort mission.
Keep doing what you did to save 1.6M.
If you are strong-headed, look for a car worth 800k or less and sign up.

The business is not that bad so far the car is his or hers.

For me, I do part time as follows:

1. One ride towards office in the morning
2. Two or max 4 rides in the evening
3. 9 hours approximately sat and sundays

I receive lots of cash trips which I use for mundane things for house and still get alert of at least 16k to 20k every Monday (Uber). I strongly believe someone doing it full time would make much more.

PS. My gross before fuel weekly is always more than 50k despite the short duration of working. So it is not as bad jare especially with surge and bonuses.

Seen boss, she keep saying any moment and Insha Allah, no demeaning and I know Muslims don't joke with Allah (I maybe wrong), let's just b watching, told her to reach out to u already as she claimed not having ur numbers and can't identify from the too many messages she has gotten.

In shaa Allah mean if Allah wills. Some dubious Muslims may use it when they know in their heart they would not do what they are saying the In shaa Allah for. May not be the case in this scenario however, but my guts just does not trust the lady.

She still has not reached out and I have not seen alert till now. In my opinion, she is not sincere, however, I am willing to give her a week more to see how things turn out. I would dig out the management of Radio Kebbi and report her afterwards if I don't get paid afterwards.

Fair enough?

Since she seems to respond to you alone, could you please ask her to respond to me on whatsapp with a certain date for the payment and promise to reach out even if the date slips (sincerely) . If she has good mind, she shouldn't have ignored me or reject my calls.

Only on that condition will she know peace.

PS: For my own mind, I don comot the money, but she should know things don't fizzle out that way.

She said this same story 2 weeks ago. It is the same story.

How can we confirm the hacking info and December ending date for the unblocking of her account?

How does that translate to her blocking me or not answering my calls?

I do not want to be inconsiderate, but at this point, she can seek other ways to pay my money the same way she has been surviving without her account since then. Shikena

I dig boss, just saying on uber don't wait for transfer more than 24 hrs again, report if you get ur money back from uber, let the rider goan sought his/her self out with them, transfer should never b an option in the first place.

I want to believe the heat is getting to her already, she has taken down her whatsapp pix, but boss u allow this matter drag for long, 3 weeks is way too long for this kind of issue.

Thanks @pope191, lessons learned the hard way.

The 3 weeks was to exhaust all possible means of resolution. I know say e far, but.........we learn, we move...

grin grin I kind of have faith you will get ur money, but from a brotherly advice, next time try to report to uber within d space of 24 hrs, no matter the intent of the rider, b on d safe side, let him/her b d one doing the explanation.

grin grin

Trust me, the other 2 transfers I had to receive that took late to enter, I reported to Uber the next day and it was resolved. Albeit, it was network issues at the end of day, but better to be sorry than loose money again.

In total, I have #5,600 lost so far to transfers. This #4,900 and one other #700.

If riders are reading this, you would not die if you withdraw cash and pay or at least be kind enough to attend to your driver if your transfers go haywire.

Is this the lady in question?

If she is, you should be able to get your money back if you can leverage on the second screenshot.

Good morning good people. Thanks for the attempt to get my money from the lady, I really appreciate.

I just got to the office now and logged in and I would rehash the questions of what really happened.

I picked her up from an hotel opposite Lagos Business School on after I painstakingly drove for about 25 mins to her because she entered the wrong pick up point. She did not apologize for the stress and I did not care because Ajah to International airport which she set as her destination is a good deal for me and I did not want any issues.

We set out and and upon almost getting to the airport, specifically negotiating the oshodi bridge she asked if she could use an atm to get cash for me. I was in a hurry and I felt what is the point that she could do a transfer. We agreed and we got to the airport. She attemted the transfer, showed me the debit alert. We waited for like 3 mins, no credit alert. Knowing I was in an airport area and I could be towed, I asked her to exit and I would call her if the alert did not come in (This is based on my wrong judgement that she is a normal person as she was calm all through).

Before I left, someone knocked my window, it was the airport guys telling me my passenger wants to board air peace to Kano. I was furious that who does not know you cannot get local flights at international terminals. I asked her to enter the vehicle and we agreed to an additional sum of 1k (including toll) which she paid cash. Upon alighting, I still told her I have not seen the alert and she kept insisting she has been deboted that I should be patient.

After about 3 calls to her in the remaining course of the day, she said she did another transfer and she was debited again and she has contacted her bank and they told her to wait till Monday. Monday came, she said her account has been blocked and she cannot carry out any transaction. She also said about 3 other people have the same issues with receiving her payment.

I continued to message her on WhatsApp till she started getting irked that it is not her fault and there is nothing she can do till her account is unblocked, hence I brought it to the forum.

PS. I reported to Uber by Thursday (late because I felt it was a sincere technical glitch) but they said it more thn 3 working days so they can do nothing.

Afterwards, she stopped responding to my WhatsApp and was cutting my calls up till now.

That is the summary with the chats shots attached.

Thanks.
