Kobojunkie: um . . . my point is

a) to the one who suggested it a VALUE, it does not qualify because you should be able to measure the value of a VALUE
It is part of the hadiths, therefore, it is of importance to them and should be part of their lives as muslims
b) For you suggesting it is common sense, you cannot just spew stuff and label em as common sense just because. . . no. There is nothing common sense about wiping with left hand as opposed to right hand. Going by evidence, it does not matter what hand you wipe with, what matters is that you wash your hands. This is what common sense says.
It is common sense to try and understand why one won't want to use the hand they use for eating to also wash shyt from their azz
c) Wiping with left as a religious command is a whole different issue. When it comes to religion not everything makes sense. I mean you say it makes sense to those who follow it, and I agree that it probably should because they accept it is one of the requirements from their religion. But when you step into a room where the people there are not of that religion, do not suggest it should be common sense because sense rules are technically universal rules.
I know you were not brought up in an islamic setting so I am not imposing anything on you. Commenting on this matter does not mean I am imposing the things I have been brought with on people. If common sense is technically universal, then it should not stop you from reasoning and try to understand why someone won't want to use the hand they use for eating to clean shyt. Even if it's food you ate, it's not the same appealing food that is coming out. I mean you won't take it and put it back in your mouth just because it's the same food.
d) The reason I mentioned a disabled adult is because if you had to clean that person up, you would probably need to use your right hand in the process, and there is the chance that you will get poo on your right hand. I am not sure how your belief will take that though. Ask anyone who has worked as a CNA.
I have never seen or know of anyone who uses both hands to clean up shyt from someone's azz even if the person is a disabled person. Yes, both hands will be used, but I am not sure both hands will be in the genitals cleaning it up. If it's someone who normally washes the azz with the left hand, I don't think the person will commit suicide over shyt touching the right hand. We are talking about people who normally use their left hands. I mean, I won't commit if shyt accidentally lands on my right hand. If to you it doesn't matter which hand, that's fine. That, my dear is your choice. Everyone has a right to use which ever hand they want to clean their shyt with.

Kobojunkie: Sorry, but what you have above have NOTHING to do with common sense . . . You don't get to tack on the "common sense" badge on anything you come up with. There are tests it has to pass. So,sorry, what you have there does not work . . . again . .

It is so easy for you to make these claims here because you probably have never had to help someone else who was disabled and you needed to wipe them down and wash them and all. Common sense is that it does not matter what hand you use. What matters is that you wash that hand, left or right before you eat.

Going by your "common sense" logic up there, those who are born left handed are screwed, or don't you see that?? undecided undecided undecided undecided
Kobo, what exactly are you trying to argue here? If you feel like any hand should be used to clean shyt, then it's ok. That is your opinion and choice but it makes sense to those who follow religions which suggest using one hand for eating and one hand for wiping shyt.

As I have said before, you can use your right hand to eat and wipe shyt, that is absolutely your business. No one is going to shoot you for it.

I have not looked after a disabled person but I have cleaned and washed babies and toddlers azzes with my left hand without any problem.

Kobojunkie: I didn't say anything of someone forcing me to wash one way or another. I am simply trying to understand how this "VALUE" as someone claimed it to be can be understood . . . the positives, if any, measured.
You will not understand the VALUE of using one hand to eat and the other to wash your azz because you are not going to gain anything from trying to understand it. You were not brought up like that.

Why would you want to wash your azz after a shyt with the same hands you use in eating especially for those that use their hands to eat.

How many people have access to antibacterial handwash?

If common sense cannot help you to figure this out, then I'm sorry I cannot help.

Kobojunkie: a) What comes out of your arse is the food you use your right hand to put into your mouth in the first place. So I don't see why it should be treated as if it is an abomination of something of that sort.

b) Wiping your butt, and then washing the same with your left hand, what does that accomplish please? I mean is that so that when folks bend over in the mosque, the person facing their arse does not get some offensive odour there way? That I can understand but anything else, I don't think I can handle. grin grin grin

c) I still don't get why it is ok to use the right hand for food and not the left? I mean your hands touch about the same surfaces all day. So if cleanliness is the main, then rather than focus on trying to get people to use different hands, would it not simply make more sense to say folks wash their hands more often? undecided undecided undecided
No one is forcing you to wash your azz with water or wash your azz with your left hand.

If you are not muslim or a kaffir you can eat and wash your azz with any hand you want.

Any serious muslim follows these rules, the same way they follow the rules of not eating pork.

You, kobo, can wash your azz with any hand, it's a free world.

If she's left handed, from tender age muslim parents usually teach their child to use their right hand instead.

Erm, that's what she has to do.
Family › Re: by kandiikane(m):
I don't understand your point.
Are you saying it's wrong to use your hands altogether or wrong to use your left hand?

We are advised to use our right hand for eating and we should not use our right hand to clean up.

Muslims MUST use water after doing number 2.
You use tissue, wipe and then use water.

When you use water, you have to use your left hand to clean up.

Same as after peeing(women).

what is wrong in training a child (a female daughter) how to keep her home and hold on to her husband? tell me what is wrong in that
There isn't anything wrong with this, if that's how you choose to bring up your child but why do you have to teach her how to keep a husband?

At a tender age, you are manipulating her mind. To keep a husband that's not even there and not sure whether that husband will be there.

This is the reason why many women feel suicidal when they approach their late 20s and 30s without a husband. Parents have been teaching them, it's a must to have husband and especially at so, so and so age. You are putting pressure on a child from a very early age. If you are going to teach a small child how to keep her husband, teach her how to keep herself first if the husband doesn't come.
