Since patients are not all the same, how do know what intervention is suitable for a particular case if there are no empirical evidence to support your care plan? How do you generate scientific knowledge to avoid instance of guess work since you are dealing with human life? The answer to all of these is in further nursing education, nurses with PhD are trained to discover new theories which are tested and applied in everyday practice.

You can not just hold onto previous knowledge or assume that things right because that is the way they have been done. Your argument for Tenacity and Prior is not inline with current nursing practice.

I do not think you understand my question, you are rambling. If she is a research nurse or a scientific researcher, then that is a different ball game all together.
There are people there already who specialise in whatever health issues affecting the population, you do not need to be a nurse for that, a nurse with a normal degree is not going by guesswork. With her PhD, is this woman doing clinical research, teaching? Most times when Africans do their PhDs, it tends to be just on paper, we value the paper more than what we can do with the paper, so I ask, what exactly is she doing with it?

Apart from the education aspect, one could go into hospital management, clinical practice, as well as private healthcare business with a PhD in nursing. Google Medicol. com and see what this man originally from Nigerian is doing with his PhD in nursing in the US.

You don't need a PhD to go into hospital managemeet. I am asking this question because I want to know what exactly she is doing with her PhD, is she still a nurse? I personally think it is waste but each to his/her own. I don't see the point of doing a PhD, if it's just to show on paper, especially nursing.

I just had to stop reading at number 8 and call this bullshyt! You cannot just throw something out there and not explain it. The reason why they say you are more likely to have cervical cancer when you have sex at a younger age is BECAUSE you are more likely to have more sexual partners plus unprotected sex which can increase your chances of getting hpv. Now, if you get HPV at 16, depending on the strain, if your body can't fight it off(most people do get rid of it within two years) you are more likely to have precancerous cell changes because of the length of time it takes to go through everything it needs to turn to cancer. Fine but the fact of the matter is over half of sexually active humans will get hpv, you can be a virgin at 27 and get the virus after your first sexual encounter, by the time it probably materialises to cancer you are probably dead or old. It's all about time and that is why there is now a vaccine for hpv. Vaccinate your kids before they start being sexually active.
