My great people of nairaland, i greet everybody in this platform. Today makes it exactly one week i started this bolt hustle in Lagos and it's been fun, stressful and hilarious, but it seems and 99% away From experiencing my first block because my rating has been dwindling from 4.8 to 4.5 and it's currently on 4.52. Please my people I don't want bolt to deny me my daily bread. What must be done to avoid first blocking??
i was in your position early this month.
just use your riders app to order your self and rate 5stars n probably drop a comment in the morning n evening,

dont do it more than twice with a particular account.

also politely ask your riders 4 5 stars at the end of the ride

. Don’t behave like a felicity, always be cool headed and have self control. No matter how riders behave, abusive or rude just fix your eyes on the money.
. Pray before you leave your house (very important)
. Accept all trips and then decide if you want to go on the trip or not.
. If you don’t want to go, you drive to the PU and then do the needful... (there are some secrets we can’t drop here cos riders full here and bolt agents too grin )
. Dress well, neat and not look like a driver.
. Buy gum, candy and sometimes offer your rider cold drinks and chips. You will be surprised they will gladly take it.
. Try to be unique in ur approach or something different (I’m not saying ass lick dem but do things dt will make dem say waoh u different or I can’t believe drivers do this ).
. Your car should be neat, AC and music on point.
. Above all make your riders happy. If you don’t have all of the above this last one is the most important, develop the skill to put a smile on your riders face. It’s there mood that determines d rating. If u like drive Benz e no mean. Though no matter what u do daughters of jazebel will not smile they must give u 1*
.
can you cancel after 5mins of arrival without driving to the PU and not get penelized?

@ kanoski.

I presume you r in Abuja?. If yes. Then you hv got no probs.

'Your cancel' and 'client did not show: columns when added must not be more than 20%

You did not accept less than 40%

Client cancelled-- you shuffle.

Case study, as you take more trips, your activity score increases, automatically, some of the columns will begin to go up.

If it's your 'client cancelled' that is going up, that means the "you cancelled" and "client did not show" will go down automatically.

That means if client cancelled is going beyond the normal threshold, you will have to miss some trips to bring it down.

what is the normal threshold for client cancelled?

so my one week block will end tomorrow,

it has been a very rough week i must say,but i still thank God.

my 1st blocking was for low acceptance rate, the other was for low star rating.

And as you all know, i have just one life line left which is one month blocking.

i just started this hustle last month n i av already been blocked twice.
both of which are out of ignorance if you ask me.

Even the bible says that"my people perish cus of lack of knowledge".

To this end,i am begging this honourable house to please advise n tell me the little trade secrets n tricks you all use to survive in this business without blocking.

please dont scroll without leaving a reply.
God bless you

same with me. My high rpm slightly above 1000 at idle makes my car consume fuel. They tried to reduce it but could not.
i guess when they tried,
it will quince when u brake?

mechs are just lazy to detect the problem..
so the quick solution is to increase the rpm

You should not have let that mechanic adjust anything with that screw driver. That thing he adjust will cause high fuel consumption. First of all you need to change your mechanic, get a good mechanic that will revert it back to factory setting.
i will definitely do that

If we talk now na something else, with your narration now you understand its btw 750 and 800 and you still allow them to increase it. Oga once you brake and the car goes off something is off from coil pack to plugs to fuel injection system and couple of other things. Scan and be free joor
the wahala be ceh even if you want to do it now...
this horrible mechanics won't even encourage you...

What's your idle reading(RPM)?? Check if it's high
and you should check your 'inner shaft', if it's bad.
Those two things can be the cause.

Car Talk / Rulling On RPM by Kanoski(m): 11:24am On Mar 13, 2021
pls i really need to understand the RULLING on RPM of a car(corrolla)
mechanics say that at idle speed, 1000 rpm is the norm which i always argue with as i know very well that it is suppose to be around 750 to 800 RPM...
so after fixing my car recently...
i notice that my car started doing brake n quince.
my RPM was at 750 at the time..
mech says its because the RPM at idle was too low that i should increase it to 1000RPM.
so after increasing it..
i noticed its stable now but am still not comfortable with it as it kinda consumes a Lil more fuel....

so i wanna know if the is a problem with my car or that is just the norm..

car in question is an 04 corolla.
i look forward to hearing from you all

You try by crowning your words with the last line.

But one thing, that's why they even tell you during the physical training "use your instinct will online", oyinbo and yankee different and you can't apply the abroad system with the 9ja own.

I was carrying a white young guy from ikoyi to VI one day and along Adeogun str, you know how they design that road with zebra crossing na, na so ooh bros, as I was driving pass na so two love birds just put leg for the zebra line and no was about within 50-20m close rage doing 60km/hr to the zebra lines when this happend. Omo I zoom past them almost hitting them na so them quickly jump back. This is what the white guy said.

But you wpuld have stopped for me man!
Me: I looked at him with a smile on my face, thats how we role here in 9ja bro.

Thats the mentality of an average 9ja person, and when you go else you adjust automatically.

So apply what works here simple. But for sake of convenience and not creating any form of panic for your rider, this is what I do. I hang my phone and make it visible for rider to see who is calling and i out it on the car speaker that even they too can hear the convo but if it private I switch to my airpod which is also connected to my phone blue tooth. With that I take calls at my convenience otherwise I watch it ring out unless the rider ask why i don't want to take it. If I sense panic in them then i take the call else I explain why.

The only time I will take permission from you as my rider to take my calls is when we are engage in a conversation (which courtesy after all), otherwise, bro i own you nothing other than pick up from you location provided to me and drop you off at your destination, get my pay and off I go. If our path crosses again good if not I have no business with you.

I do not care about rating any more, I have been blocked and been unblocked even bolt self reas9n my matter them tire for me. I talk with Uche personally on his private mail i clear him fuckup give am... i tell am see guynif my account block again you serve punishment. But that no mean say may I no maintain my own lane o... As for Uber, na me never get their time I'm just enjoying my marriage with bolt at the moment. When I get a news of Uber improving their app I'll have my account back.

Peace

@ Kanoski, I did this trade full time on bolt for about 2 months and it appears you own your car which gives you a lot of flexibility to succeed in this trade. Permit me to share my survival strategies with you (although I have a rating that fluctuated between 4.4 - 4.6).

- I don't do the island rush thing: The island has a lot of sassy and ill manner kids (apologies to residents there). I live on the mainland and "POSITION" my car to received trips that keep me on the mainland. By mainland I mean Ikeja, Ilupeju, Yaba not mushin, powerline and co. Position just simply means there are places you park that determine the trips you get. There were times I did 100% of my trips with Ikeja , Ogudu, Ojudu, Ilupeju......good roads, well-mannered riders and good money.....also mainland pips are less likey to keep you waiting for long periods and open to you talking to them (my experience)

- Call before you leave you move to pick up a rider and have a 1 min talk: calling gives you an insight into the kind of rider you are going to meet, it also helps you "position" yourself well before you meet them. I have had instances where I cancelled trips just because the riders sounded very rude over the phone. If you carry such riders, they will give you poor rating, spoil your mood (causing you to transfer it to subsequent riders) and probably mess up your car

- dress well, keep your car clean & in good working condition (including your A/C).

- Go over and beyond where the driver deserves it. Let me give you examples:

- I once took a girl from VI to somewhere in marina. I ended the trip on Eko bridge because I realise she was fidgety and ask that I end the trip on the bridge. I told her Eko bridge isn't safe and she opened up she doesn't have money to pay for being stuck in traffic. I told her not to worry, collected what she had and took her there nonetheless. Except she is a demon, she will rewards such with 5* and moreso, if she had dropped in traffic, I wont be able to pick any else nonetheless.

-On bolt, let riders know the route you are following based on the map (on indriver, you are king of your route) - a lot of issues arise from route-related disputes

- take time to rest - driving when stressed often means you have little tolerance to riders misbehaving

Let me stop here, others can also tell you how they cope

this is really good bro...
i really appreciate

first of all, for you to have this kind of rating even when you are telling riders to rate you we need to know what kind of vehicle you are using , is the vehicle in good shape, is your ac working perfectly mind you AC is very very important for this job. I once have issues with rating when I was using disfigured Toyota corolla and there was a time I worked when my AC is not not working perfectly my rating drop dramatically. There are drivers that have good rating without begging and it starts with there car
my corolla na still cha cha...

AC on the middle dial chills enough for even the hottest of days...n i only use it when i have a back seater.....

@ kanoski your brother here kanuisagoat already did justice to your problem.

Since it's your first block it shouldnt be more than 48hrs or less.

By the time you're been unblocked, accept every trip but wait for 5min before you cancel any trip you don't need to embark on. Each trip you cancel after waiting for 5min increases your "passenger didn't show up by 2% will automatically reduce the other by 2%.

Continue in that fashion till its balance.

Note that each trip you dont accept reduces your activity score by 2% as well, and increases you "you didn't not accept" correspondingly thereby making you to be lastborn in a poll of drivers (low activity score reduces yoir chances of getting trip request in a poll of drivers) so make sure you watch it.

First suggestion of waiting and cancelling after 5min is your best bet.

Good luck and welcome to the club. Any driver wey never chop baptism of blocking or ban for this racketing never see anything.
swears bro.....

i really appreciate
