Double0h7: Op, you come across incredibly selfish and childish. Your family is broke and instead of supporting your husband your talking about phones and hair. You are a family of 6 living on less than 170k and all you could think about is your selfish needs.
You need to do better and stop stressing your husband. Look for ways to bring more money to the table instead of fighting for the little money needed to run your home. Grow up because you sound like a teenager disturbing her dad! Be a wife and a help mate. I don't really blame them. Many of them marry very early and they do that directly from their father's house. The entitlement is still there. What stops her from saving a portion of her salary. Reminds me of this my colleague getting married this June. I'm very sure the girl is less than 24. |

I remember when I did my siwes, one of my colleagues then decided to use that period to better her spoken English. She spoke English all through the 5 months. Bad English at first but it became better, we even made jest of her for trying to form grammarian but I'm sure she's reaping the benefits today.
If you cannot speak proper English especially as a graduate, you are just short changing yourself.
Imagine young people like yourself conversing in English but you're scared to participate because of your bad grammar. |

Charly68: The problem is foundation.. they were given poor training from primary school ..
can't you see that it is the children who went to good primary and secondary schools that speaks good English ? Stop that thing! Private schools have a way of making kids feel superior because of their good English but aside from the English, they are just as good as those that attended a public school. Summary is, you can speak fluent English and still be poorly educated. |

harsysky: If you do not have good command of the Language while in primary or secondary school , it will be hard to learn when you are a graduate but not impossible.
Infact I passed my English while in WAEC, but deep down I knew I wasn't good. I had to start afresh when I left the university; I had to get English textbooks, download softcopies and also made use of google to improve.
It is not like there is a gain or a loss in it. I noticed my confidence increased. A lot of folks have burning questions to ask but their deficiency in the Language hinders them a lot A lot of people are like you but they didn't even try to improve on their spoken English. In my secondary school I could write any English I could imagine but speaking was a great problem because I rarely speak the language. I attended a public secondary school where we rarely speak English. Pre-university, the only time I spoke very good English were the 2 years I spent in a private primary school. The university coupled with my church, RCCG changed everything for me tho. It's either you speak English or you keep quiet or you end up embarrassing yourself because people will question your quality of education as a young fellow if you speak bad English in those environments and they also encourage the proper usage of the language. It's one of those reasons why I love mingling with non-yoruba people, I enjoy speaking English and pidgin with them. The English language do frustrate me atimes tho, especially the Nigerian English we speak. Personally I still prefer yoruba. I must confess sha, having good command of English language will increase your confidence especially in today's Nigeria compared to when you have a bad command of it especially as a graduate. I still dey shoot gun small small sha but I no dey shake. |

Baddestguyp: blockbusters with plot used to win awards you mean... Nowadays what do you have as blockbusters? Movies like Unchartered...good for cinemas and popcorns but very poor or average on an serious review Sometimes I wonder what a good plot is. If you justapose all blockbuster with the drama you'd see they isn't so much difference in the plots. Why is Samuel L Jackson just winning Oscar? Why is Will Smith just winning Oscar? Tom Cruise? No! Jackie was given a compensation for an Oscar. So these actors are so bad that despite all the years spent in Hollywood and all the film produced, movies featured, they could not win an Oscar until recently for some of them? What is their criteria sef? |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Karleb(m): 9:01pm On Mar 29, 2022 |
Blockbuster used to win Oscar before now but for some reasons they just decided to no nominate them again.
You see popular actors and actress with one or no Oscar award but actors that are not even popular in the US scoop in awards yearly.
Imagine Eminem without an award but MGK with ten Grammys or Wizkid with no AAMA but Reekado or Portable having ten of those. |

Baddestguyp: Truth is that Superhero movies are deserving of major awards in Oscars...and we all know it...
Most of these have average plot at best and rely mostly on hype moments...
Although sometimes some performances might be worthy...e.g Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight Explain. |

CAPSLOCKED: I'M NOT SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'VE BEEN BLABBING ABOUT. I AND 39S ARE POPULAR FOR FOR OUR ATHEISM, YEAH? WE'RE ALSO KNOWN IN THE REDPILL THREAD FOR OUR SUPPORT OF THE REDPILL. NOW, 80% OF THE TIME, I'M IN THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF 39S AND MANY OTHERS REGARDING A LOT OF ISSUES, INCLUDING SINGLE MOTHERHOOD, VIRGINITY, RELIGION, PROSTITUTION, MASTURBATION, GAMBLING, ALCOHOLISM AND MANY MORE SUBJECTS. STILL, WE ALL ACCORD EACH OTHER MAXIMUM DEGREES OF RESPECT ESPECIALLY IF EACH POINT IS PRESENTED CONSTRUCTIVELY AND ONE DOESN'T JUST TALK LIKE AN ĮDIOT.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET YOUR FEELINGS TWISTED IN ALL OF THESE. YOU DON'T LIKE THE REDPILL YOU CAN GO DO YOU AND NOT TRY TO STAND AGAINST IT. YOU'LL NEVER HAVE A CASE. THIS THREAD STARTER IS IN A SERIOUS AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP AND ONE TIME REVEALED THE LADY'S ON MONTHLY SALARY (IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY) DESPITE WORKING. HE'S IN LOVE, BUT NOT BLIND TO SEE THE HONESTY OF THE REDPILL IN EVERYTHING AROUND HIM. SO YOU REALLY SHOULD JUST DO YOU AND NOT TRY TO CONTINUE MISCONSTRUING THINGS TO SOOTHE YOUR FEELINGS. I'm blabbing? Really? I thought you wanted to have a conversation. The fact that you result to cockiness and side remarks at the mention of redpill just reminds me of how Christians would insult anyone who dare challenge their beliefs. Bros, I learnt a lot for TRP but it has it flaws too. All I wish to do is to point that out to you and your friend in the most polite way but that's not going to happen anymore now. Let me just stop here. |

HardMirror: being an atheist does not mean you cant hold extreme ideologies stop mixing it up and being an atheist does not mean you are a reasonable person. Being an atheist means you are an atheist. That is the end. You can be a serial killer, a loving responsible member of society, you can be a cultist.... you are just atheist. I get this. But when one of the reason you become an atheist is because of religious dogma but you still take up a new set of dogmas after refusing Christianity, then something isn't right. |

1Sharon: The redpill doesn't threaten you with fire and brimstone if you don't believe, calm down. I am calm. But it still has its dogmas. If you don't like redpill, you're bluepilled aka simp. It's like calling someone a sinner or infidel. Redpill is good tho but not perfect. I hardly see them point that part out. Just the way a Christian or Muslim will never point out the faults of their religion. |
