mach7: Russia didn't OVERTLY plan to invade Ukraine. If they were interested in invading Ukraine, they will have done so since 2014 and won't have bothered sponsoring the peace initiative of the Minsk I & II accords.
The positioning of Russian troops in late December to early January was intended to pressure Ukraine into complying with the Minsk accords and by extension letting the US/NATO know that protection of the Donbass was Russia's priority.
However, Ukraine refused to comply and instead intensified shelling of the Donbass. Secondly, the US/UK starting ferrying arms into Ukraine which was interpreted as a sign that they were not willing to listen to Russia's interests. Thirdly, Ukraine's President went to Munich Security Conference in second week of February and openly declared his intention for his country to acquire Nuclear weapons. At this point, Putin made his mind up.
Declared Donbass as independent republics on February 22, and started the Military Operation to liberate their territories on February 24th.
See, there is a deliberate attempt to suppress the information from the Russian side or any other alternative point of view. This is so that only one point of view, which is the Western point of view is made available to everyone.
This conflict is essentially a battle for the freedom from American hegemony and that is why I don't see an immediate end to it.
America will fight for as long it takes, and Russia will fight for as long as it takes while slowly destroying Ukraine piece by piece.
The true losers here are the Ukrainians. Nonsense. |

Jakumo: Islamic terror has its roots far beyond the boundaries of Nigerian territory. The overthrow of Libyan Strongman Moamar Ghadafi triggered instability in Libya as various heavily armed paramilitary groups previously all paid by, and loyal to Ghadafi, splintered into warring factions.
Infantry weapons and materiel looted from armories of the collapsed Libyan regime filtered out across porous land borders, and inexorably wound up in the hands of West Africa's regional Al Queda terrorist affiliates, namely Boko Haham and ISWAP. While opportunistic Nigerian politicians may also constitute a minor augmentative factor explaining the persistence of Islamic terror attacks in Nigeria, the role of EXTERNAL terror networks cannot be overemphasized. Well, you have a point there but… Understand that even a stabilized Libya with Ghaddafi, was a huge threat to the non Islamic communities in West Africa. That guy had been pushing weapons through Northern Nigerian borders for long, with oil money. What we have now is child’s play compared to if he were alive. So many ignorant folks always tow that line, that Ghadaffi was an African Savior. Look at what is happening in Abuja before our very nose. If the US Forces have informations about our terrain that we weren’t aware of, how then would a Nigerian assertively doubt US’ claims that Ghadaffi, on a distant Libyan soil, far away from Nigeria, was a Jihadist mover and sponsor? Lai Mohammed came up earlier to debunk this Abuja security alert by the West, just like Putin debunked the US claims that he’ll invade Ukraine and we can all see the outcome. Somebody wey get eyes to view details for distant galaxies, na that same person we think say e no get eyes to view our backyard? I no wan even talk of intercepted phone calls, with speech recognition and translators. Add those up with inputs from undercover agents…mehn, lets fogerrit |

MosakuAW: Having Police station or post in another country is not a bad thing, as long as the crime committed by their citizens is not a crime in the land they reside.
If a Chinese man commit murder in Nigeria, he or she needs to be punish under the Nigerian laws. If he commit offence or crime against his on country e.g by posting fake news online against his/her country to damage the country reputation then, he can be punish or arrested by their police post force. As long as their laws does not supersede the country of residence laws, so be it.
Their law, their punishment, their problem.
Modify: FORGET HUMAN RIGHT!
All humans are not equal. A US citizen can commit offence in one country and the government can asked the country to release him/her so as to serve jail term in the US, but a Nigeria government can not request for her citizen to come serve jail term in Nigeria. BanyXchi: you said a whole bunch of nonsense here sorry to say.... I don't know what made you think I'm one of those that blame colonialism or I hate the West, seriously?? You didn't need to write all of this story, you didn't check my reply to that dude, I said there are browns and blacks in leadership positions in countries that colonized those blacks and browns because they created empires and allowed immigration into their countries, Sunak is a PM today because the British colonized his ancestors and people were allowed to travel within the British empire.... Now let me answer some of the nonsense you wrote:
First of all, China had the maritime power to colonize if they wanted to, china had been sailing and trading with the horn of Africa for centuries before the Western Europeans knew what sailing means. Also the killing of xtians in Russia is not relevant to what I'm trying to explain, I'm not a pro-russian, pro-chinese here at all, I'm not denying that Russia is innocent, infact Russia is a notorious country that created the Russia empire( 3rd largest empire) and also colonized several tribes around them like the Siberians, so I'm not saying they are innocent, I'm only explaining that of Russia extended it's imperialism to Africa, then we'll also have African countries dominating their politics. Western European countries during the scrabble of Africa colonized Africa countries and that's why we are in their countries, do you get my explanation?
Secondly, idk how many times I have to tell people that America doesn't really have colonial masters!!! The anglos are not indigenous to US, they invaded and genocided the Red indians, the founding fathers of United States are Anglos frat members, they are of the same race with the British, George Washington father was actually British, comparing the way British colonized Yorubaland where Yorubas are indigenous to the way they colonized US where the whites aren't indigenous but actually European migrants is just plain foolish. They British and Americans are thesame, they are mostly Anglo Saxons, or of french Celts decent..... Also the Jews suffered throughout their history but were never colonized, and today they have a well functioning country thanks to the help from the West.
Lastly, 'they left many years and we can't set up a system that works' is actually very very true, but you must understand that nigeria is a clash of civilizations, a failed British contraption where different ethnic nations are being forced together, the products of these failed contraptions are useless animals like Buhari, and so on. Well, I no been insult you sha. Looks like you're pushing your grievances from personal problems to my face. It is well with you. China had the maritime power? when? When Japan was the regional power? Or when Russia pushed her boundaries and got Siberia? Do you know how long China had been in poverty? The US was colonized my dear, your ignorance can't change that. It's in the books. Abeg just shift. You no worth this discussion. I take the blame for mistaking a white molue for a Coaster bus. I just discover say you no worth am at all. You don't know anything here. You should've honorably shut the hell up and take a walk. Please don't check back o, biko. I'm unavailable. |

BanyXchi: you forgot to say that Russia and china didn't colonize any black nation China would have if she could then. Go and read about the underground Church in Russia. How christians were killed for preaching or holding services. Colonialism is common to most developed countries of the world today. It's common for most countries to have independence day celebration. Even the US was colonized, but they don't cry about it or blame their current failures on it. APC came into power and kept blaming PDP for more than five years. That's what failures do. Those who keeps blaming colonialism for Nigeria's current woes are as clueless and inept as her current government. Ethiopia wasn't colonized, but she can't be compared, in most aspect of development, to South Africa that was. No dey follow idiots mentions that colonial excuse cos of their hatred for the West. The Jews were colonised and brutalized by many empires, but today they stand technologically advanced than Rome. Americans today have their colonial masters as on of their closest allies, because of similar ideologies, not a bitter historic past. We now call them both ''the West'', like they're one. Even when the Whites colonized us, we had black slave masters too. Black elites sold their brothers for money. It took greed and betrayal for the whites to hold us down. They've left us, many years after we can't set up a system that works. We still run to them because they have built working systems. Can you blame Buhari's political Dementia on colonialism? Or Tinubu's insatiable thirst for power, as a colonial aftermath? The basic problem of a Nigerian is his mentality, and that too, is his bondage, not colonialism. |

Do a research to find out if there exist a single black in Russia's leadership strata, or if there's a single black man in China's political system. If you find any, come up and post his or her name here. If you can't find any, then it's a sign you need help. A pointer, you need to check your sanity and overall mental health. |

https://mobile.twitter.com/lagosforlagos/status/1584106355736031234 Looking at most of the comments here you'll get a clue on one of the reasons Nigeria seldom have the good (not even best) hands elected for leadership roles. I noticed that an average American adult, knows more than 85% of aspiring leaders in his county, with their respective track records, dispositions and affiliations, not to talk of his entire state. They even set up events and schemes to get to run litmus tests on the aspirants. To deduce what stuff they have to offer, thereby giving the 'unpopular' first time aspirant a good chance to be considered. They don't vote popularity and fame(or person wey get mouth, as most Nigerians would say). They vote capacity and competence. And if after the votes, the elected is discovered to be a minus in most practical respects, they wait till the next polls to kick his ass out, sometimes he may even step down to avoid further complexities. But in Nigeria, any first time aspirant is mocked, and as good as dead on arrival. We believe in wealth and old mistakes, to be better prospects for leadership roles. You complain of Tinubu, but call Jandor a joke. At the end of the day, you end up with Tinubu's work piece. Una dey always look for person ''wey get mouth'', not somebody wey dey competent with better prospects even if na first timer. It's so sad. |
