that sustains man's survival in the face of the challenges posed by nature. |
JaaizTech:you are very deep in the pool of ignorance, seems disappointed that the facts did not collaborate with your imagination. he beginning of the existence of God is beyond human comprehension; so trying to find a logical answer for you will never be possible; it is beyond physicshow do you know that? are you omniscient to know the fringes of human understanding? Again, the Prime Mover is the starting point. Nothing created or designed it.thats why its an assumption which did not cover all grounds. at least we are in agreement. |
the first question is which Creator? Mazda, Zeus, Allah, Christian God, Hermes, Hera, Jupiter, Mars, Mithra, Jesus, Joseph Smith , ? Of course, he too pops out of nowhere. Science has taken us beyond that superstition, that a being similar to humans is responsible for life and the universe, then it might as well be a goat too or a unicorn. ID relies on perceived form and perfection. The origin of the BEING is a greater issue. The Big Bang has more solidity than ID. Life is spontaneous and its origin, might as well be. |
Keyamo, as other Nigerians has an interest and welfare in srutinizing the machinery of government. In effect, all citizens act as a check to the government. Fashola hasn't been indicted or executed, but an opportunity to defend and clear his name, simple. Fashola is neither a god or an angel, with overbearing perfection. what other means does a citizen have to kick out corruption? |
There must have been a master planner; master controller and coordinatorthe grand assumption for the Prime Mover, is an answer that raises more questions. Isn't there the possibility of other movers with an area of specialization? What is the origin of the this Prime Mover? for such a complex designer who pays so much attention to every detail, who then could have designed the designer to match this sophistication? as the evidence of a being like a human or animal is his appearance, is it the same with HIM? the ancient mind in the depths of ignorance borne the concept of the designer. |
dayokanu:if the Christmas bomb and this Time Square bomb had gone off, what would have been the media's reaction? wouldn't there be questions on his competence to combat terrorism? Under OBJ, Nigeria had almost an absolute right to freedom of speech, even religion or hate speech could not bar it. The unnecessary heavy burden from the public sector was greatly reduced on govt expenditure, a boost in the economy, guiding the launch of the telecoms industry. there were things he could not change: people religious fervour, corruption in every level of the society plus elected offices. |
lareine:at least the Church was built on their sweat. with his weekly persuasion, do they contribute to fund his projects. |
Or his indigent congregation! |
Still not for the masses! |
This is a very bad image for Islam. it is impossible for Muslims to prove to the world that these suicidal young men are not influenced by the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed. |
The criteria for picking what goes into the Bible is in doubt. Not all Christian Scriptures are in the Bible, the Protestants do not accept the Apocrypha. Is the Gospel of Thomas not included because it is an embarassing portrayal of Jesus Christ, or the Gospel of Judas for exulting the chief enemy of Jesus, or Gospel of Philip for exposing the the sexual weaknesses of Jesus Christ? All the authors of the Bible are in doubt as the compilers. Glaring contradictions and mockery for humanity. Christianity simply fulfills the mystical requirement as with all religions. Joseph Smith, Moses, Jesus, Muhammed, Zoroaster are purported to have received the mandate from god to propagate his message, what is the difference between them and lunatics? Over 3 billion people believe them?! werte their testimonies scrutinized? |
don't blame the man of god, its the devil. god can not keep them safe from the devil, thus it is god's fault. |
sorry, is this Alice Wonderland? |
It is impossible to prove that an entity or thing does not exist, it is simply disproved on the justification provided for it. Bert Russell's example of the celestial teapot, a claim that a teapot orbits round the sun, that even the most powerful telescopes can not pick. Or the claim for self-conscious elephants living in the sky and responsible for thunderstorms and rain, and with the antedote for the high altitude. Or an invisible singing rat on Mars, or the existence of Santa and unicorns. These are impossible when the person making the claim was careful enough to render them unobservable. But the question is how was he able to come across that "fact"? It is on the evidence of seeing a plane or a space shuttle in the air, would one claim that objects can fly, thus that forms his justification. The arbitrary claim for the existence of God is one of those. God can not be disproven, it is impossible. he is only disproven on the justification for him, on disproving the evidence for him. whoever makes an positive claim, the onus is on him to prove it. it is ridiculous to hassle a doubter for his evidence against it. Hey, God exists because the Bible stated so. By what means the writers of Bible acquire the knowledge of his existence? Revelation or Reason? Then are the stories in the Book backed by scientific and historical truths? Why is the Book riddled with damning contradictions? |
whose better for the post? do you think the standing candidates are not self-seekin too. We ve had a ten years of democracy, yet the freedom, prosperity, free education and better lives is far from being realized. at the turn of every election, nonsense politicans give nonsense promises, and the country becomes worse. the cycle has to stop now, i take my chances. thats the essence of democracy, not mere satisfaction in seeing my tribesman elected! |
at least he is better option than dele, pat utomi, yar dua, chris okotie. his experience places above the power-hungry politicans we have. |
What experience? Institutionalising corruption? or ruining the country or annuling the freeest and fairest election in the country's history. WHich experience are you refering to?is it fair blaming him for the sins of the country? i admit there was a decline, but corruption as being the order of the day since colonial times, Nnamdi Azikwe has being guilty for misappriopation, our famous father Awolowo has had countless shell companies that get all the govt contracts. he has being there before and thus the experience. he had the best foreign minister, Nigeria has ever had. the ambitious SAP project was innovative and engendered growth in the private sector. abolition of the market boards, encouraging foreign investment, devaluing the Naira to compete in the export sector. also a responsive govt, set aside SAP as a result of inflationary pressure. the so called fairest and freest election is so because all the Yorubas got what they wanted. Elections in lagos are always free and fair?! |
Check out this faults: Is stoning an adulterer a sin? Is revenge killiing a sin? Is slavery a sin? Is selling your family member a sin? Is mass murder a sin? |
JaaizTech:yeah right in your mind! a being, you ve had no communication with, neither seen or heard. what is the difference between him and santa claus? |
redsun:it is the mind set of the people of this country that set years backwards. Nigerians generally give a voice to tribalism, we are more concerned about the tribe, if he is from the North or south and religion of the candidates rather than his abilities, thus the cost is bad governance from incompetent rulers. We might eventually end up like Angola or Liberia; a bloody civil war. best is to set aside all that nonsense consideration. IBB has the advantage of being experienced in state affairs and he is least bad candidate. |
Abiola had a clash with fela. Fela had always felt Abiola was a military loyalist. nevertheless, abiola's hands were not clean either. just a fckin demagogue. |
toba:its an apparent flaw of god, just admit it. Rest is necessary for all organisms and the writer of the Genesis, felt god was no different. he shares similar attributes with man, breathes, thankful and appreciative, has plans, envious, and jealous, displays anger. whats the difference? |
Also there is the incompatibility of God's omnipotence and omniscience, cos as omniscient, he already has set out his future actions, thus unable to change his mind despite being omnipotent. our perception of the entity god can only be drawn from speculation, whether he is almighty or not. |
From the famous parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man, wherein the rich man did not seem to have fulfilled a moral obligation to cater for the poor and needy namely: Lazarus. And a reversal of roles in the afterlife, the rich man was languishing in Hell seeking for relief from Lazarus and the patriarch Abraham. Thinking of this, is anyone aware of any church that preaches on compulsory generosity? |
where did acquire the knowledge that there are things beyond our understanding? are you omniscient? the tool of reason is very powerful. |
all hopes banked on Liverpool to upset Chelsea crashed. they are such a disappointment. of course two lousy goals from Chelsea. |
sounds convincing! but by what means can one ascertain the truth in reincarnation, internal feelings? is simply providing hope and comfort for death? |
Islam is undergoing evolutionary changes to adapt to the morals of the day. the Ahmadiyya movement seems to be a moderate breed of Islam, preach against violent jihads ( which are the foundations for mainstream Islam ), integration with Christianity, picking up Oriental traditions on the way, respect for the separation of government and religion; thus very tolerant. A characteristic desperately needed in religion. |
nice theology of rubbish. Even the grand masters, ie Paul and James get it confused. another bible reference says human righteous is as worthless as a piece of rag, how come its still a yardstick? sin, sin. the contents change regularly, revenge-killings were not considered sins in the OT, but today, its otherwise. slavery wasn't, now it is. with this ever changing standards, how can one keep up. |
god can not speak because he is a dumb figment of our imagination. except you are crazy, you'd hear the voices of mazda, zeus and pink unicorns. |
God is emotional too. if you say bad things about him, he cries also. ![]() |
slavery? what does that have to do with the facts on ground. Nigeria is an underdeveloped country plagued by poor leadership, corruption, illiteracy and poverty. it is a popular truth! that our beloved country is a disaster. BBC didn't need to fabricate any story, there was too material already. we should think of solutions to our problems rather trying to censor all the media agencies in the world. |

! Have you no reasoning; He only says "Be" and it happens.
