Christianity Etc › Re: Xtians Can Someone Explain (trinity) For Me? by Kay17: 12:32pm On May 13, 2010
Actually, Constantine was not involved the determination of the contents of Christianity, since he knew very little. He was only able to create a platform to resolve the issues and unify the Church. By now Christianity has spread far and wide and often adapting to the local forms of religion, in order for famliarity and acceptance. A pagan had the time without the knowledge of Judaism would find it difficult to understand the concept of Christianity and God's sacrifice to himself, but rather use his knowledge of his religion as base to understand Christianity.

Failing to understand the oneness of God, sees almost all transcendental beings as gods. Today the Catholic Church is practically a polytheist. The great bishops had already slipped trinity thru the gospel, even during their persecution by the state. Also there was a great divergence of ideas pertaining the nature and identity of jesus.
Christianity Etc › Re: Paul Believed That Jesus Was Not God by Kay17: 12:11pm On May 13, 2010
Chakula has great points. he is able provide excerpts from the same bible, that drew out the difference between god and Jesus. On the face of it, Trinity does not make any sense, and the bible did not expressly state it. Christianity like every other human activity undergoes change. its more difficult for Christians Cos the doctrine is frozen in the bible.

Lampard is not any attacking midfielder, the features of an attacking midfielder that attracts admiration of fans, such as creativity, flair, passing, vision. Lampard lacks it all, best at blasting the ball. lacks finesse. great midfielders, Pele, Maradonna, Johan Cryuff, Iniesta, Fabregas, Xavi, Guti,

Islam was built off the back of violence, and propagated by violence and this sacred weapon has been enshrined in their holy book, just like an haj, jihad is the most important experience for a muslim.

Thus, it is right to conclude that all muslims are potential terrorists(since that depends on their devotion to it)

Also it is incidental for intimidation to accompany violence, all acts of violence is terrorism, including nuking, punching, carpet bombing, assassinations. etc.

otawa:
indeed.

History also told us that USA is only country to have drop nuclear bomb on hapless Japanese people.

History also told us that USA is the country that wiped-out a nation of people: the red Indians.
it was kind of necessary in the view of the carnage which would have occurred if US invaded Japan, probably more than a million lives.
agathamari:
the us did not wipe out the native Americans - they are still around. did they kill and/or displace them yes and Canada did the exact same thing at the same time. if you look far enough back into the history of any country/colony/kingdom/tribal lands you will find a similar story including ones that are going on today. just because the us openly admits to many of its wrong doings while other countries do everything in their power to hide their is no reason to demonize them.
One of the worst human rights abuses goes to Russia for the cage Gulag and the Polish massacre.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Truth About Yar'adua's Death That You Must Know by Kay17: 10:33am On May 13, 2010
You got it all wrong. Heaven and hell is as real as the air that you breath. Its only the devil that is giving you the wrong notion that there is no heaven and hell and the earlier you discard this false message the better for your soul.
you are suffering from the syndrome "certitude". Since there is a creator for chickens and goats, then goats and chickens go to either hell or heaven. Ridiculous!
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Jungle Of Europe. by Kay17: 10:19am On May 13, 2010
agree a lot with harakiri, an aware public is the vital piece for democracy in Nigeria. I think this owed mainly to illiteracy and religious bigotry, the people still have the chief-mentality, and lack an independent mind, following all kinds of traditional and religious leaders about. rather than face the common enemy, misunderstandings lead to fight among ourselves.

The Greek public are a major factor in the government's decision making and know how to make their point especially when violence is always necessary.

The problem is not a few looting the treasury, it is the majority with a sense of entitlement draining the public coffers.
this is the 21st century and the role of the government has gone beyond the rudimentary function of maintenance of law and order, it is an investment in the people, in education, culture, innovation; its is necessary. Its as a result of the viciuos capitalist cycle, they are in the mess in the first place.

Christianity Etc › Re: Angels With Wings? by Kay17(op): 6:57pm On May 07, 2010
Why cant angels have wings, or fangs or anything. In fact, why should they have bodies, or legs, since they have no need of anything - as they are ethereal beings? And if they have wings, why do their bones have to be hollow? God created everything for his pleasure. Its like asking an artist, who created a picture, why he made that sweeping brush stroke, at that angle, at that location on the canvass and in that colour. He did it because he wanted to - for his own pleasure. Simple. And how can a physical law, apply to a spiritual being?
The point is these question are irrelevant. It adds nothing to the masterpiece, but attempts to take away from it by reducing the creativity involved into a logical process and a physical explanation.
That's the flaw, only physical beings are responsive to physical laws. the angels are more pr less legends and myth passed to us by cavemen. My point is a Supreme One will not suffer the faults and weakness of a man, cos HE is beyond that, he is by his nature Supernatural.

As in polytheism, the gods and divine beings invariably have human emotions and vices. tempted to steal, sexual arousal, jealousy, involved in conspiracies among themselves, liable to mistakes. anger, guilty of favouritism. etc, That in  itself points out that they are products and reflection of their creators: man.

When humans attempt to use their understanding to comprehend and infinite phenomena, it usually results in confusion.
The questions you posed are a good example of this
Of course it is also helpful to explain away Greek Mythology and Oduduwa and his deformed chicken.

His writings, rejected by the Church might be revealing, Apocrypha books are generally revealing.
Christianity Etc › Angels With Wings? by Kay17(op): 9:59pm On May 06, 2010
One of the things that bothered me as Christian and stirred my doubts, was the inconsistency of the Bible characters and their inherent nature. A spirit should be a spirit and have no yearning for material wealth, or emotions or hunger for appreciation.

Why a particular sphere of human behaviour would irritate a divine being so badly to threaten his existence? God should be jealous or vengeful, or susceptible to flattery and demand praises and appreciation. His creation would not need a design, life would be featureless and unpredictable, like manna falling from the sky. Miracles would be a daily occurrence.

As to angels, designed and engineered like a bird, equipped with feathers and wings, possibly hollow bones to facilitate flight. Why would angels need wings? Do the laws of gravity apply to them? Aren't they supposed to be of a spiritual nature?

Christianity Etc › Re: Our Noah's Ark by Kay17: 9:26pm On May 06, 2010
The message i could decipher was that God tolerates the suffering and torture of the weak. that people unfortunate to be born of other races other than Jews, are held in contempt by God. that God is a racist! what does he feel towards blacks?

A bloody crusade against Muslims again? haven't you learnt from history at all. it is not surprising, religious issues are accountable for most the violence today. George Bush feels inspired by God to invade Muslim countries, Muslim fundamentalist trying to convert the world by force and suicide-bombings, Christian fundamentalist trying to do God's dirty works by wiping other groups that do not agree with their doctrines.

the world is crazy! by God.
Politics › Re: Aftermath Of Yaradua's Death.what Next For Nigeria. by Kay17: 8:56am On May 06, 2010
KnowAll:
It is time the whole Southerners and some Middle Belt states work together, any President who is not pulling his weight be it  Northerner or Southerner  bloc votes can help in instituting  impeachment proceedings and that President would either buckle up or face the wrath of the law makers.

Bloc votes should also be in place well b4 the elections, whereby 25 to 30 States out of the supposedly 46 States would go one way come rain or sunshine, these states can and should be seen to be able to muzzle and throw their weight around to the benefit for all.

The reason why the USA or UK have an enduring democracy is because large swathe of regions in the geo-political map of these countries are either Blue (Conservative, or Republican) OR Red (Labour or Democrats) there are times traditional Conservatives or Republicans would protest their vote, it is then you see them voting Yellow (in the case of UK Libra Democrats OR in the USA vote Red the Democrats-the Obama phenomenon after the Bad years of George Bush )

I Believe the Yoruba’s, Igbo’s and the SS minorities should work together at all times to move the country forward. That is where endorsement comes into it, and not just any endorsement, an endorsement that has teeth and is made of steel.

The way forward for endorsement (the Nigerian way ) would be through a  new sought after conference which would hold every 4 years in the mode of a National Convention,  the Traditional Kings would deliberate for a few days and their spokesman would come out with a communiqué on where the pendulum would swing.

It does not necessarily mean that bloc votes would always carry the day as voters are independent and can vote for who ever they want to, but the mere size of such a bloc would make every word said by their spokesman both by the print and the electronic media to be like decree and are irreversible.

The Good thing about such  bloc votes individual Traditional Rulers can hide under the cloak of anonymity as the current executives in their various respective states would not know where their loyalties lie but the communiqué when released is bounding on all members loyalty is absolute adhered to rigidly.

One for all, and all for one should be the mantra.
the big difference between the US and Nigeria, is focus is based on the competence and policies of the parties, whether conservative or liberal. But in Nigeria, its shit. all we care about is if candidate is from our tribal group.

How wouldn't there be crisis?

I got the point perfectly. You're the one seeking a problem where there is none. Ok the nerve is longer than it needs to be but WHY is that a problem? We need only one lung or kidney to function perfectly but we've got two . . . would that also be a problem?

During surgery, lymphatic vessels and other surrounding nerves are at more risk of damage than the nerves in question . . . that is why you spend yrs training before you become an ENT!
the perfect design is required, the nerve is a longer than it needs to be. the blind spot is a flaw. the eye isn't as perfect as it is supposed to be.

there is no fossil evidence of any such evolutionary step.

to an extent, more or less a remnant of an evolutionary step.

Are you suggesting humans are the product of evolution?
more of subjects of evolution.
