you are a big time fool, all those empty promises of paradise and 70 virgins and gold that were freely given. the shepherd allowed his helpless flock to be massacred by wolves and you say he has purpose for them in death. so whats the essence of prayer and miracles, doesn't HE intervene? he parted the sea for the Jews, why not for the Rwandans? maybe they were not the chosen race.

Lady 234:
I doubt. In Exodus 20:8-11 Elohim blessed the 7th day and made it Holy. Yet Pentecostals go to church every Sunday perpetually breaking the 4th commandment. How do you want to go to Heaven when you stubbornly break Adonai's commandment every single Sunday you go to Church. Adonai made the 7th day(Saturday) shabbat not Sunday, better retrace your roots. Saturday is the Jewish Shabbat, I don't even know where you guys got the word sabbath from.

Come Discover the Jewish Jesus, Join the Messianic movement and stop celebrating Shabbat on Sunday.
Shalom Shalom. Lady 234

so we receive news from hell too. are there special newspapers for that? hell and heaven are simply unhealthy products of imaginations of man.  Bimbo is gone forever, she is neither in hell or heaven. different religions produce different ends; they fail to grapple with the stark realities of death rather they want to believe in PINK unicorns.

Politics › Re: Lagos Light Rail System by Kay17: 6:26pm On Dec 02, 2009
with a thief like fashola and an accomplice like tinubu, how would funds be left for the project. besides they still have to rely on the federal govt for funds because its a costly one. the idea for six geo-political states is bright because they would have a wider base for revenue and probably state police idea would be viable.

@deep sight, you shot yourself, somethingness does not proceed from nothingness. then the prime mover-something came from ?? whats the origin of your prime mover?
Christianity Etc › Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by Kay17: 5:24pm On Dec 02, 2009
Deep Sight:
Please go and read my post history if you care: i have NEVER propounded in my reasoning the concept of a loving or merciful God.

Perhaps this is a good place to address you all gathered here on this - and Tudor is already aware of my perspective on this -

I do not in my ideology seek to proffer the idea of a loving Abrahamic daddy in the sky who is merciful and benevolent.

Everyone who has followed my threads can testify that i argue philosophically about the existence of a Prime Mover, a first cause, an uncaused cause for the universe. That such a cause must exist i infer from many different possible lines of deductive reasoning which i have advertised extensively on this forum. I have also sought to infer a few attributes of the primordial uncaused cause of all things: and some of those attributes have included power, intelligence and an eternal or permanent, self-existent nature.

So please, please, please and please: DO NOT waste my time with any ideas about the all-loving Abrahamic God, because i have never advanced that as a line of reasoning.

It is within this context that you may understand my apprehension of the stance of some of the atheists here: because your very words reveal an antagonism against religion and the Abrahamic conception of a loving God AND NOT a puristic rejection of the idea of a Prime Mover - whom i call God.

As far as i am concerned it is hare-brained to conclude that since a particular conception of the nature of God is wrong (i.e: the all loving, merciful, Abrahamic conception) then nothing caused the universe. This is the atheists riddle: and i challenge anyone of you to deliver substance to the contention against the existence of an intelligent prime mover: we speak, rememeber, NOT of a merciful or caring entity!

As things stand your very arguments render it obvious that you are all in mere rejection of religionist ideas regarding the origin of existence - and nothing more! You need to be discerning enough to distinguish that question from the cosmological question of the existence of a Prime Mover for teh Universe - which i call God.
i am sorry for wrongfully labelling you as a Christian rather than an idle mind.  How would wake up one day and conceive all these ideas and settle down to believe them. You will be quite good in cartoons.  /just another Grail follower/

at last the elusive aletheia has finally answered. I need to claim omniscience while he needs to adduce a few evidence huh alright, i admit i'm not omniscient, i rely on reason, but you created an implication that nothing is known except one is omniscient. thus, you need to be omniscient to prove that Zeus and PINK unicorns do not exist. they culd be somewhere. since HE has saved us 2000 years ago, what purpose is there to pray for protection against demons or accidents. why didn't HE destroy the earth after all? if you were in that church, would you have prayed?  i think you can abandon your baby since Jesus has saved her. that sounds like Rev King's sermons.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                @ deep sight, part the love HE has for us is to make us victims of balancing process he perfectly designed. floods, diseases, earthquakes are gifts of love has for us! wonderful!  from your conclusion, this earth is paradise.   this is abject nonsense, you are on the fringes of madness, tiger killing a baby gazelle is not different from using a baby for rituals or committing genocides,   so who is evil?
Christianity Etc › Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by Kay17: 11:54am On Dec 02, 2009
Man has gone a long way in understanding his world, through science, he has been able to subdue and manipulate the earth for his use. Man's knowledge is so vast, that we can explain any phenomena around us. we have created objects that fly, we have burst out earth into space, we conquered diseases, confined our large world into a global village, we have been able to count the planets, stars, galaxies, landed on other planets. Meanwhile, religion was a mechanism in man's past to understand his environment and to satisfy man's inherent curiosity. The fault is the lack of objectivity and the prejudice of benefactor. thats why rivers, the sun, the moon; are worshipped because the influence on them. Like Nile was worshipped because it irrigated their crops, the aztecs worshipped the sun because of the effect on plants and had their weird explantaion that the sun devoured by a demon and the next day, it arises, bla, bla, bla, then the Greeks and Romans added a myriad list gods and associated with every sphere of their culture, while Jews and Muslims accumulated all the attributes of all gods into a SuperGod. within man's knowledge, we know that the aztecs story isn't true and that its is as a result of the earth's revolution around the sun, that Zeus,Poseidon and PINK unicorns do not exist, that there is no God above us according to Yuri Gagarin, even though Jesus ascended there. that there are no demons of malaria or headache or pregnancy. thus, aletheia has to be omniscient to say God exists in spite of all the facts to the contrary and he dismisses all the scientific knowledge as false OR is based on belief like the aztecs since belief is ignorance of facts. @ trust me, if God loves you so much, would he allow tribalists like the hutus to butcher you and all your family. culd you love your baby so much and yet abandon it. God's love is stronger than man's notion of love. REMEMBER, that dark matter was discovered by science and not religion. also were you implying your God was dark matter?

Stop trying to criticize and bring calumny on an anoited man of God.do u think those millions who go to redemption camp for spiritual help and divine assitance are fools.they know the Living God is daddy Adeboye.there is nothing else but the sin of envy and hatred that would make turn against Pastor Adeboye.do u even know his christian background and the sacrifices he made to God as a christian before u start gibberishing.whats wrong with his wealth as far as we know that his soul and relationship with God is prospering; u should remember God never took the riches and possesions of solomon as a sin until he disobeyed God's commandment.by the way ,in the early church of the apostles like peter, john e.t.c .where they not but rich and poor people among them.@banom,u had better watch your mouth or it may lead u to your destruction
the majority is not a test of correctness. b4 the advent of the europeans, the entire Africa was darkness of ignorance. so billions rush to the Camp, prove nothing.

I think the issue of tribalism is superficial and has no practical relevance in solving today's problems of poverty, corruption, illiteracy and insecurity, etc. its an attendant of illiteracy. with the power of education, the issue of minority and majority would die out with time. what we need are dedicated leaders and participating public, because thats what democracy is all about. The EU is agood example , countries like Germany and France with a long history of conflict, can sit at a table and co-operate. Rather think of being Gauls and Germans.
MY PEOPLE WHO HAVE DECIDED NOT TO BELIEVE:
God was there when the serpent deceived eve and eve deceived adam,  God was there when cain killed abel, God was there when the world perished in the flood, God was there when the tsunami swallowed thousands of people, God was there when the genocide took place in Rwanda and so many other genocides around the world, God was there when AIDS came into the world, God was there when US experienced the unforgettable 9/11, God was there, God was there, God was there when Christ was nailed to the cross! and God is still here witnessing our politicians embezelling all we have, He is still here watching the rise of corruption etc, etc,
My people God is not man. so no matter how much you analyze or rationalize, u will never understand.
so my advice is: live your life well, don't make same mistakes others have made. IF YOU WANNA BELIEVE, BELIEVE. IF YOU DON'T , DON'T BELIEVE. THE WORLD STILL KEEPS SPINNING!
BUT REMEMBER YOU DID NOT FALL FROM THE SKY
BOTH THE WICKED AND THE GOOD, THE RICH AND THE POOR, THE ATHEIST AND THE BELIEVERS, ARE ALL ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORLD GOD CREATED! WE CANT QUESTION WHY  UNLESS WE HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE HUMAN BEINGS (which am sure you can answer).

if you only live in the memory of the terrible events around you, then living will be useless. Put it all behind you and move ahead.

this is my piece!!! wink
thats all you can say about the genocide victims, tsunami victims and to HIV victims? God just allows anything to happen, he does not care? but don't christians preach that God loves us and protects us like a shepherd guides his flock. wasn't it from his love that intervened and parted the red sea to save the Israelites, so why didn't he save those in the church from being massacred.

what did u just spew out? the Greek philosophers were intelligent and they believed in Zeus. thus we atheists are too foolish to realize that Zeus exists! wonderful!
Christianity Etc › Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by Kay17: 2:31pm On Dec 01, 2009
aletheia, has succeeded in derailing from the main issue. he keeps hittin that man's empirical knowledge is limited and therefore, impossible to prove that God does not exists. thus a doctor cannot be sure if he diagnoses malaria or swine flu or cold, since his knowledge is limited. rather christians like aletheia, with infinite knowledge, that can know that its the demon of malaria that is responsible for malaria rather than plasmodium. and he can also detect the presence of God, vampires, PINK unicorns, Zeus and his indisciplined subordinates. thus pls show us the x-ray glasses we can use to see THEM since we do not have them. thank you.

One 1:
If splitting the country into 6 zones is put into effect then wut is the need of having a president?? for this to work there'd have to be one top controller of each zone, In other words each part might as well become their own country, huh
check out Switzerland. the size of each would be significantly larger to give it political weight and the functions a lg could enlarged and clearly defined. thus better and more responsible federal system. check out southern sudan too.
Christianity Etc › Re: Where Was God During The Rwandan Genocide ? by Kay17: 8:56pm On Nov 30, 2009
@ aletheia, you are strange. you keep bangin on this omniscient thing. you are so unsure of yourself. first, you complain that there is a limit in the knowledge we currently have therefore one cannot be SURE. guess what? plain lies like the earth is flat, that the sun revolves around the earth, that the universe was created in 7 days, global flood, tower of babel reaching heaven etc of those nonsense; have been disproven, are facts believed or known? what you christians have spewed alone have been proven to be inconsistent to logics and false. your bible makes hundreds of contradictions within itself and too inconsistent,  simple.
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Created Evil? by Kay17: 8:24pm On Nov 30, 2009
actually, it was not satan but the serpent in the garden of eden. Gen 3:1, the serpent was the cleverest animal God created. After the Temptation, the serpent was punished- Gen 3:14. In Gen 6:2 stated the fall of the angels. satan came after the serpent
