They'll boldly claim to support LGBTQ community but when the time comes to put money where mouth is, they falter.
If you so sure if your motivation, why not create or include LGBT characters prominently in their animation movies? Why the fear?

Most of these companies are virtue signaling. That's why I find it both laughable and annoying when people cry about LGBT characters/scenes being forced down their throat. The amount of lobbying LGBT writers have to do to get representation in a movie/series no be joke.

Hot take here but I firmly believe that characters are more important than writing and plot in the battle shonen genre. Characters are probably even more important than the action if you think about it.

Another hot take incoming: Jujutsu Kaisen doesn't do enough to make me care about its characters (maybe except Maki) despite being one of the best shonens out there.

I actually agree. Interesting characters do make for entertaining stories. Works spectacularly with episodic shows. Can carry linear shows too, even if the plot isn't all that.

Haven't seen JJK yet but also haven't heard anything about the characters that wasn't superficial or related to power scaling so it tracks, for now.

Despite her limited screentime, I liked Nanao's character arc. It was quite nice to see her finally get a chance to shine in the TYBW arc.

MILD BLEACH SPOILERS

She got to show her proficiency in Kidou. Also, it was also interesting to explore how Kyouraku's guilt over what happened with Lisa in the TBTP arc led to his overprotective attitude with Nanao. Which may have held her back as a fighter.
Still though, they were able to overcome their character flaws and give each other much needed support when it really counted.

I do drag Bleach for having the weakest writing out of the big 3 but they really did a great job with their characters.

Yes, I know. It sounds like a basic, generic shounen plot but the storytelling is very engaging. And the characters are multi-dimensional and will leave you wondering where their allegiances lie and what their motives are.

Apparently, the movie shifts dramatically from the book narration and story wise because the test screen audience didn't really like the main and original ending....

In the book, everybody's turned, but here's where it gets interesting, the vampires evolve past their initial feral phase, become intelligent beings,they basically become human beings again, build civilizations, interact emotionally and logically.(The vampires becoming smart or evolving complex level intelligence was placed in the movies somewhat, the trap with the mannequin, using dogs, the scene where the alpha tries to get the butterfly girl despite sunlight, that scene often gets misinterpreted as him being very feral, but in actual truth, it's more of him willing to risk pain to get the one he loves, the girl from a threat, Neville).
Basically, they become the next phase of human evolution....
Neville as the last surviving human doesn't get this, instead, he keeps on killing and experimenting on them to find a cure....
So in the book, he became an urban legend...He became the Dracula hunting innocent people for fun to the Vampires...

In that way, when he was facing trial(they captured him), he saw their terrified faces looking at him, he realised he had become a Legend to these new creatures , they sort they would tell their children to get them scared or make them behave.....Hence, the I am Legend name....
The movie didn't play out this way ...The book's much better....When the movie was released, dystopian movies were popular, so it factors...

This sounds so much better than the movie. Hollywood and butchering amazing stories = 5&6
