Achilles100:It's still leverage, though. Not smart leverage but you work with what you've got. The hiding of Mat's condition. She has seen that his case has passed leaves and herbs, but stubborn head will not let her ask for help. There was basically no guarantee Moiraine wouldn't kill him. She went with what she felt was the safer option |
Chibudollar:She said she hates men. She never said she hates preek
|
Achilles100:How? |
WHITELIGHTER:My people say, "When a fowl comes to a new compound, it stands on one foot." Nynaeve is a person of interest in a new and big city quite different from where she lived before, not to mention the fact that she feels responsible for the younger ones. She would be a fool to not be wary and skeptical of everyone and everything, especially after Moiraine told her that everybody here get agenda. |
I'd like to announce once again that Alanna is my favorite Aes Sedai, for special reasons.

The scenic shots in this show though. And the OST keeps going harder every episode.

Sophie Okonedo still serving in her 50s.

Hit Monkey Interesting pilot. Looking forward to the rest.

DieRich5:The Red Ajah Aes Sedai are actually misandrists. |
abduleez1:All the stories were original concepts so not necessary to be a Star Wars fan. No P sha. Only very few people liked all the stories. Most liked some and hated or liked some less. As long as you enjoyed a few episodes. Na anthology afterall |
abduleez1:1. The Batman 2. John Wick 4 3. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom 4. Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness 5. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore |

abduleez1:Calms boss. He could just not be interested in the character or her place in history. |
phr0nesis:Then you won't understand the hype. |
phr0nesis:You read about Cleopatra? |
Grave of the Fireflies (1988) 10/10 A beautifully animated, heartbreaking and emotional story about the human cost of war. The late Isao Takahata took to the drawing boards to bring Akiyuki Nosaka's semi-autobiographical story to life. Grave of the Fireflies tells the story of 14-year old Seita and 4-year old Setsuka who, after losing their mother to an air raid, have to survive the last months of the war. The movie explores themes such as human apathy, stubborn pride and the gritty reality of nature. The animation and art crew really did amazing work in making the characters feel life-like with the way they move and express emotions. Tsutomu Tatsumu and Ayano Shiraishi did a great job with the voice acting, endearing me to the characters and echoing their struggles with their delivery of the script. I've heard the English dub does an equally good job as well. Michio Makita further deepens the feels with emotionally moving OSTs including a cover of Home Sweet Home that plays at the end. Grave of the Fireflies is not for the faint of the heart. Dubbed one of the saddest movies of all time, it lives up to it with a soul-crushing execution of a story that we, well know, has been playing out in real life before the World War II period the movie is set in and up till this day. As beautifully done as this movie was, I don't think I can bear to watch it again.
