Brokeloser: Revenger episode 5 was really heavy.Imagine a world where kidnapped children will have a better life than their impoverished homes could ever provide.
Also can anyone confirm nio's gender, towards the end she/he had a vaguely small bulge at the same time there was a vague hint of agbalumo on her/his chest.
Najdorf: Lol I'm the opposite of what you're trying to paint the guy as. Shonen/Battle is usually close to the bottom of my list of preferences any time I have to pick up a new series
Even with that, Vinland managed to really draw me in S1. Ended up picking up the manga and going a few arcs beyond farmland saga before dropping it. I picked up Vinland exactly for what I saw in S1 and when the author decided he wanted to make it something else, naturally my interest waned. There needed to be a new compelling reason to follow the story but there wasn't, and it wasn't doing the whole political/drama thing it was trying to become as well it's original battle/action. In the age where there's so much to read and watch, interest shifted elsewhere. Simple as that.
His opinion is justified. It doesn't mean Vinland is "trash" and you'll never see me saying that. It just happens that a piece of media may or may not satisfy what you're looking for.
The bolded is basically like astrophysics to some folks.
Shizuku Tsukishima is an energetic 14-year-old girl who enjoys reading and writing poetry in her free time. Glancing at the checkout cards of her books one evening, she notices that her library books are frequently checked out by a boy named Seiji Amasawa. However, as her relationship with Seiji grows, Shizuku becomes determined to work toward a goal. Guided by the whispers of her heart and inspiration from The Baron, she resolves to carve out her own potential and dreams.
This movie had mediocrity written all over it. Ridiculous screenplay and an even more atrocious and sometimes down right annoying visual effects that made it seem more like a parody rather than an actual Marvel movie. A shadow of the franchise that held sway from 2008 to 2019. Two hours of absolutely nothing and watching paint dry would have been a proper use of my time instead of seeing this hot mess. Dim and inconsistent dialogue and dry humour. The only little spark was Jonathan Major, who looked the part...a proper villain with his demeanor but he almost got swallowed up by the atrocious screenplay. I would have liked for this farce charade child's play to have not been his introduction. The last straw i am giving MCU is GOTG Volume 3, if that fails too, then they are truly done and dusted. Save your money if you haven't seen it and wait it out to be available on the high seas cuz this ain't it at all...proper gutter quality flick.🗑️🚮
Oyaskii, who send you go watch this thing for cinema? Anyways, thanks for taking eleven for the team.
abduleez1: Wonder why this feels funny to me.... Lol
Anyways, WBD is on an incredible run lately with new studio heads, talent acquisition and first look deals. They tapped Zack Cregger (director, Barbarian) off Universal few weeks ago. 😳
Didn't even know WB lost James Wan. I knew Wan signed a co-ownership deal with Universal alongside Jason Blum (Blumhouse) to pull forces together on a horror focused production house. Wasn't aware dude fully jumped ship.
Adding Shyamalan to the WB staple is a solidifier for it's horror department as well as WB easily printing money in box office for dirt cheap production costs.
Problem with Shyamalan is that he's an uncertain factor. And he bombs more than he bangs. Anyways I'm not really a consumer of his content so the matter no consign me las las
But losing Wan is a BLOW. Chi m oooo! This one pain me.
abduleez1: Lol, so Pennyworth dey upper tier above WL and UA? I no know why shows from other networks not related to WB/HBOMAX dey hard me to watch.
I bring up shows more by a recent release basis than quality basis. As a matter of fact, I prefer to save quality content for last. Pennyworth was up cos I wanted to catch up to the newly released S3. As e don end there, make we catch up on shows that are gearing to get new seasons soon.
Not to be that guy but this gives me mild Wednesday vibes. It's definitely something to consider watching if I can ever make time to start watching anime consistently again.
I'll be sure to keep you updated on the quality of the content when it airs.
abduleez1: I'm surprised many of you missed it. Even Una wey dey watch am. I been dey plan to watch am sometime but as dem don cancel am now, ginger don reduce.
Just finished S1 and true true, as I hear this news, morale to blow through the rest don drop. Be like I go push am down the list, bring up White Lotus or Umbrella Academy.
Another new show to look out for this year. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Love me some palace politics whether it be East Asian, South East Asian, Medieval Europe or African. Premise is interesting enough and the production quality looks good.
Synopsis In the East is a land ruled by an emperor, whose consorts and serving women live in a sprawling complex known as the hougong, the rear palace. Maomao, an unassuming girl raised in an unassuming town by her apothecary father, never imagined the rear palace would have anything to do with her—until she was kidnapped and sold into service there.
Though she looks ordinary, Maomao has a quick wit, a sharp mind, and an extensive knowledge of medicine. That's her secret, until she encounters a resident of the palace at least as perceptive as she is: the head eunuch, Jinshi. He sees through Maomao's façade and makes her a lady-in-waiting to none other than the Emperor's favorite consort... so she can taste the lady's food for poison!
At her lady's side, Maomao starts to learn about everything that goes on in the rear palace—not all of it seemly. Can she ever lead a quiet life, or will her powers of deduction and insatiable curiosity bring her ever more adventures, and ever more dangers?
