It's over $200mn presently globally.
The most impressive thing about the movie is these numbers are not even accounting for Korea or Japan where Nintendo is a top dog. The movie doesn't debut till later this month in those territories and they are easily amongst the world's top 5 markets.
Chi m oooo!

Some actors are indispensable, if they change some actors, the franchise could fall short, for example, think of someone replacing Millie Bobby Brown as eleven in stranger things
To be fair, Millie has done 4 seasons. Replace her after season 1 is a far cry from trying to replace her now.

if they're going to make a live action movie, they should remember Van Damme and the nonsense he made, so they don't just mess it up again. Lol
The 1994 Street Fighter movie actually has a pretty decent cult following, mostly due to Raul Julia's performance as Bison.

I know that coffee mixing shots aren't new to TV

But I feel Chainsawman got this shot from Better Call Saul... especially since CSM is purposely filled with Hollywood references
Comrade, they're just pouring coffee. It's not that deep.

Wonder why Universal wan undermine this film sha... 🤨😕 $1bn hopeful in the mud.

It'd still do around $700-850mn tho.
A digital release date a month away that's already been announced? $500m is even looking like quite the milestone to me.

Disappointing RT scores but I still see this movie making serious Bank. Audiences care less what their opinions are. Families have been waiting for a while for a new blockbuster animation movie since Puss in Boots.
It all depends on word-of-mouth at this point.

Solid story and kick ass believable action scenes.
Omo! I saw this first in my mentions and was setting up to watch it this weekend and then I read Oyaskii's review and now I'm really skeptic.
I'll line it up for weekend with a backup movie. If watching it still feels like stress after 30mins, I delete.

Been waiting on this since it hit the cinemas last year.

But it's still pointless imo...
I haven't downloaded Avatar 2 yet because I like to watch movies like that on Sundays...
The version I'm gonna download will still be less than 3gb

Movie that I will never rewatch lmao grin
I mean, the fact that you're downloading it after watching it in the cinema means you're rewatching it.

Still not impressed.

Wes Anderson's films are mainly Oscar bait: entertainment value is zero.
Well I've only seen one of his films so far, The French Dispatch, and I found it pretty entertaining. Maybe that one's an oddity, so fingers crossed until I go through more of his work.

Budget fit no reach $75m las las. Remember he did French Dispatch with $25m.

As a zoomer,I want to know the obsession boomers have with TV of then because they keep claiming TV was better then than it is now. I did try to watch from the 60s-80s but damn It was bad as the plot was super-predictable, terrible picture, sound quality and over-acting just didn't make last long enough,I can suffer through that pain when it comes to movies of the "Golden age of Hollywood" and not series (Hollywood has really gone a long way) so I'm starting my own 90s marathon. As a horror/mystery and scifi fan,I'm starting with "Twin peaks" then I'm moving to The X-files,if you boomers have any recommendations, please tag me
It's not really surprising that you'd find them predictable. Afterall, yesterday's mind-bending plot twists become tomorrow's overused tropes.
What left audiences shocked years back is now par for the course in recent times.

Same with the technological factors. Colour TVs were once the peak of home media devices. Something you lorded over your peasant neighbours with their black-and-white TVs. Since then, we've moved on to 8K resolutions.
Doesn't change the fact then when folks gathered around the old box TV back in the day, they thought that was the best that media visuals could get.
Same with sound.
