Tomorrow it is folks like the OP that will graduate from the university and be singing to get job for Naija na man know man, yes your action is the reason why companies careless about the poor and focus on people who come from resourceful homes or background, if that man has his way he will make sure you never work in any company ever again by blacklisting your sorry ass, do the honorable thing, write another resignation letter, include the salary or whatever is left and send it back to him with an apology in person and tell him you acted out of ignorance as a teen, trust me the man will forgive you and even ask you to take the salary and even reserve a spot for you when you graduate from college.

If not in all companies,am sure most companies have this policy of notification for resignation. What I'd suggest is this, things can be settled amicably between the both of you I believe only if your boss is just being wicked. Let him know you are sorry for your actions and sincerely apologize to him and clearly stating the reasons for the resignation. This life is about networking and there is every likelihood of needing his help one way or the other in the future. If you leave him in anger, it could come back to hurt you. The Boss is not being wicked...He is pissed! seems the guy absconded from his duty post....having collected his salary with notifying his boss by way of resignation letter...Do you expected the Boss to have magically sort for a replacement? which would have been easy to do if he was informed ahead of time.

and think this will make the boss not to help boys like him who would like to work while waiting to get or further their studies

Full time salaried employees are expected to give two weeks to one month notice before quitting. Same applies to employers. Termination without notice typically has some financial implication.

It is contract or wage or temp workers who can leave without notice.

Nobody seems to be taking note of this

In most organisation you can terminate your appointment 3 -4 months without notice, but after confirmation, you have to give a full month notice to effect termination.read your contract, if there is nothing like that,then boldy tell your ex- boss the contract is not binding you to him and you will consider legal action

such notification of termination is usually stated on company's handbook and not on letter of employment if i'm correct...so he should seek for the company's hand book were those terms are stated and see what it states
