Foreign AffairsRe: Gunman Kills 27 Including Children At An Elementary School by KayDee4: 7:46pm On Dec 14, 2012
Its been horrible since the 2nd half of this year. Its like every other week. Some of them don't make news or get much attention because 'just' 1 or 2 people are killed or injured.

SniperInADiaper: LawAbidingCitizen: Once again the national news has it 180 degrees wrong. As soon as something like this happens, they immediately ask if we should have more gun control. Please think this through. Lack of gun control did not cause this to be so bad. Too much gun control could have made it worse. Any law abiding citizen/teacher/admiistrator could have stopped this almost immediately if they were allowed to be armed. Bad guys don't obey gun laws. They only serve to stifle the ones who could have helped if only allowed. undecided
They are not totally wrong by saying so. Loose gun laws always have a bearing on incidents like this. This is what happens when people can walk into any gunshop and buy guns, in some cases without proper background checks.

It doesn't have to get to the point where the teacher and possibly students will have to engage the shooter in a shoot out in trying to stop him.

I have the right to carry a gun but where I know the cops are effective, I will rather not have to carry a gun to the mall, cinema, or to work. Keep your guns in the house and only take them out if you're going to hunt.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by KayDee4:
Wenger is taking a huge chunk of the blame from me. Arsenal is on a downward spiral and he is quietly going with the flow instead of popping the chute.

The effect of 'net spend' on our current predicament is minimal. Even with the so-called negative net spend, We still have/have bought some good players (which may not be the case for too long now) but a light sprinkle of mediocrity always spoils the party for the whole team. Why not push a few more millions to replace a few bad eggs, keep your star player or at least have a team not seriously lacking in one department.

- I believe Wenger has power over the board to keep any player he wants, he has shown to be weak in this area, like the case of Song who wasn't enbrawled in any contract drama. As for this Walcott saga, any smart manager would have fixed it since instead of letting it turn to a public spectacle like we have now. If its about playing through the center, yes, give him the word to get his signature. If its about money, I don't see why they can't up their offer from 75k to 90 or something, afterall FAB4 was earning 110k or so.

- Wenger doesn't seem to realise his policy of destroy and rebuild is intrinsically flawed. One season you have a performing striker but a leaky defence, the next season you sell the performing striker, fix your defence and buy a new striker who will need 1 year to adapt, so you defend well but can't score goals and end up with, 0-0,0-0,0-0. I laugh when I hear names like Zaha, Sterling and even Nani (abeg I no want) as possible replacements for Walcott. Keep selling your top players, Wilshere is watching.

- Wenger is stubborn when it comes to signing needed players, every year he tells beautiful stories about invincible people coming back from injury in the form of 'LANS' and the gamble always backfires.
We had a good shot @ winning @ least 2 trophies (CC and EPL) in the 10/11 season (just last year) but ended up empty handed again mainly because of a leaky defence and I blame Wenger for that. Who knows what the CC final outcome would have been if we had a more solid defence; and we were title contenders until March/April before horrible defending caused us to lose to relegation candidates like Bolton, Westbrom, Stoke and A.Villa. . . . . . . and I personally attribute these failings to Wenger's refusal to sign a defender (Cahill or @ least someone better than Sqills) in January over a couple of millions, he kept telling us TV5 was coming back only to realise he needed another surgery the same week the window closed.

In the words of so many, "Wenger has lost it" ; No plan B for sticky situations, Chamakh must play because he made the bench, Ramsey must play even if its on the wing and he doesn't play well from there, Arshavin should stay home for Gervinho who has been running around like a headless chicken for the past 3 games.
I gave up on him when he came out some weeks ago to say that "Arshavin seems to be at his best when he plays no. 10". Like, you've been in a trance all these years? I'm not calling for his head just yet cos I agree he's working under tight conditions which will not suddenly change with the appearance of a new manager but I'm sure he can make his case to the board and be heard.

You can't escape the wedding crashers. Just make provisions for the anticipated uninvited guests.

Police, bouncers, security and a huge 'bounced' crowd outside your wedding venue won't be a very pretty sight.

its only my boyfriend that can hit my booty

they said yr no more in Africa or Nigeria

I am going to stop talking to them
Hitting your booty all the time ? shocked shocked ; like its their play toy or something ? and you haven't landed them slaps or even sent them to prison. Maybe you have a small voice with gentle eyes and they don't take you serious when you tell them to stop; but touching you, even on the shoulder in a way that so displeases you should be enough to land them in prison for the night at least.

Sad sad sad!!
[/quote]Chemists may not be in as high demand as engineers and geoscientists for the E&P Companies, but there is definitely some connection between the qualification and the industry. Some companies employ Industrial Chemists and Chemical Engineers as Production Chemists, that's probably where your degree fits.

adetayoonas: Haba. The caption of this post is deceitful and trecherous. The guy who sent this post may be a staff of another bank.
First bank is d best bank in Nigeria. It is far better than gb and other banks. This post was masterminded by some deceitful people to spoil d bank's image. The caption was so szscruel and other staff of other banks are using the forum to demarket fbn. Pls let me tell u that first bank customer service delivery has improved since 2009.they care a lot about customers. First bank is d best and strongest bank in west africa. This post is very misleading. Fbn is also everywhere in nigeria both rural and urban. Since 1894 first bank still remains d best and largest employer in d financial sector. No matter your lies. We stay proud as fbn customers anytime anyday.
I doubt the poster is trying to defame your beloved first bank, I don't even need to read his full story to reconfirm what I already know about First Bank. Being the strongest bank, oldest bank, largest employer, etc . . . . . doesn't automatically translate to service efficiency and when it comes to FX transactions, they are NOT the best, far from it.

HealthRe: Pregnant Woman Dies In Port-harcourt Hospital Because Of Deposit by KayDee4: 3:22pm On Dec 03, 2012
This is sad !!

Hospitals asking for deposit before treating sick patients and for police report before treating emergency gunshot wounds, has led to the death of many. I understand it is for fear of not being able to recover their money or getting arrested but I wonder if the doctors ever discuss these problems when they meet (I believe they have a professional association).

These are issues the Doctors' association should table before the President and lawmakers, there has to be a way/procedure put in place to ensure that hospitals can treat emergency cases without 'stupid' requirements and not risk losing money or going to jail. I know that if government decides to pay all unpaid emergency bills, the privilege will be abused but this is what those f0olish senators and lawmakers should be working out instead of sitting in Abuja all year fighting over who stole what money.

debosky: Dunno where you work, but companies all over the world only get the bonus part of their wages if the company's performance meets pre-determined levels. There is nothing surprising here in the least.
Yes, I know companies do it and it is a standard in some sectors so no one will complain because you know the 'rules' are the same whether you're joining company A or B.
If they didn't have any conditions (like most clubs don't) and everyone got their full pay regardless of target realization and then company A suddenly comes up with a bizzare rule like that in a period where the chance of meeting the target is in the balance, then current and potential employees have every right to be concerned.

debosky: Only 'managed' to come 3rd in the EPL, only below the two of the highest wage spenders in the league - I wonder what the others were doing when we 'only managed' this? I'm sure Newcastle, Spurs, Liverpool and others would've loved to 'managed' to clinch a UCL spot.

Heck while we are at it, Man City only 'managed' to win the title, Chelski only 'managed' to win the UCL. If y'all want to believe the worst about your club, feel free to do so.
I said 'managed' cos we finished 1 point ahead of 4th placed Totts who had to settle for Europa. *Thanks to Fulop*

debosky: Utter nonsense - you have no shred of proof to back up this assertion. Arsenal is a mere 5/6 points outside the CL spots - how far away were we at this point last season? huh You have simply made up your mind to believe whatever rubbish gets printed about Arsenal without attempting some form of rational analysis. Good luck to you.
This contract move has every element of resignation to the possibility of Thursday night football. No serious player will sign a deal with this sort of nonsensical clause in it.
It's like trying to employ top professionals to your company and you tell them that part of their salary will be based on 'if the company makes profit', why would they sign for you when your competitors don't have any such stringent rules.
We only managed to clinch a spot for UCL qualification last season and we're not better off this season (so far).

coogar: 4llerbuntu is a sensationalist.....
he's a prophet of doom and he would churn out every negative thing he reads about arsenal just to prove "i told you so". arsenal would make the champions league - their rivals have not made any significant stride to even make arsenal tremble!

when the natural order is restored, west brom and spurs would go back to their normal positions. it's going to be a long hard winter - the big teams know how to storm through it whilst the mid-table teams would fall apart when push becomes a shove!
The prophecies of doom are in order. You're being overly optimistic on behalf of arsenal fans. The other teams haven't done anything significant and neither have we; infact we have regressed from our status last season. Now we have broken our own terrible record (of the worst start in a very long time) from last season and sold 2 of our top performers with the 3rd inching closer to the exit door; so why are we to believe this season will turn out better than last.
