Santino1: Exactly, that's why I suggested the tropical/extratropical cyclone earlier. Naija doesn't seem to be sitting on an active tectonic environment.

P.S: checked out your profile and it's all screaming GEOSCIENCES (hope una don drill like 1bbopd from that seismic volume..LOL. Good to meet a fellow geoscientist and actively following ya
Yeah, its not a tectonically active environment but the presence of transform faults along the mid-atlantic ridge can trigger an activity, maybe not to the magnitude in the pacific but never say never , lol.
good to meet you too, following you right back.

Santino1: Apparently.....
P.S: I didn't see the comment before putting forward those theories...Apologies
No problem, there may be a host of possible causes; tectonic (Earthquake/tsunami), or neap/spring tides caused by the earth's rotation (this may cause a more gradual rise than the tectonic related causes though); no one knows for sure which one it is for now. So all reasonable opinions are valid.
PoliticsRe: Atlantic Ocean Surge Kills 16 In Lagos (Pictures) by KayDee4: 9:21pm On Aug 19, 2012
19naia: My first thought was the same as yours but also sometimes it can come from distant bad winds in the ocean...I Searched on a web site "Latest earthquakes in the world-past 7 days." Just type that into google or so and there is a USGS (united states geological survey) list of all the significant quakes in the world..I checkit every day........The list shows an earthquake in the mid atlantic fault right on same latitude as nigerian coast..It was 5.2 quake aug 17 and is big enough to make small surge to reach lagos and even delta coastal regions. The 1st report was august 18, so maybe it was from august 17 event which took many hours to reach lagos..It is possible that offshore underwater ridges near lagos could have swelled the surge into lagos area....This is not an official report, only my own independant considerations....Be safe you ocean dwelling people and maybe Naija government has been right to remove all the waterfront settlers in lagos..I hope the government will offer alternative resettlement and not just evict them to wander lost....
. . the most plausible explanation.

coogar: berbatov would fit nicely in that position...
Wenger will not fall for that SCAM again; once bitten , twice shy, infact he should have forced Fergie to take Squillachi as part of the RvP deal - BOGOF.

proudly9ja: @debosky
Ive just picked up that 100%, M'Villa will be moving to a new club this week. However, no info on which club. Spurs were interested some weeks back so it might be them. But again, who knows? wink
Abeg who are these your sources, we're getting left behind here.

I used to have a lot of deja-vu incidents when I was young and it was always strange to me whenever it occurred. I concluded to myself that they were dreams I had when I was asleep which I didn't recall after I woke up. Now when I wake up in the morning, I try as much as possible to remember any dream I had while I was asleep to keep the bad ones from coming back to me as deja vu(s).

Omo Alata: I once dreamt my mother was cussing/cursing me in the dream. She was cussing real bad (heavy, heavy pronouncements) undecided so I sent all the cusses back to her ojare. I was yelling, "back to sender, return to sender, backfire" in the dream. My mother has been passing through one problem or the other ever since.

Thank God for Jesus Amen.

duduspace: More importantly, we've replaced RVP (with 3 top quality players) and there is enough even within the club to replace Song if he does decide to leave.
Provided we start well, I see nothing to suggest we won't be up there challenging at the end of the season.
Does it not bother you guys that Wenger who is the boss cannot keep the team together ? All we do is replace our top players every summer. How is that supposed to convince the younger players and other clubs that Arsenal is a serious club and not a footballing nursery ? Every summer we destroy the team and start rebuilding all over, when will the team building ever be complete ? This is the time when older players who have been at the club long enough should be grooming people like OxChambo and other young guns but instead, we let them free and the problem with Arsenal, which started with the sudden exit of older and experienced players, still has no solution in sight.

proudly9ja: Arsenal fans like to console themselves. RVP is injury prone. A case of 'monkey no fine but ManUnited like am' grin grin. Same beef they had for Cesc, Nasri, Clichy and others before them. Make una dey dere dey beef players who have gone to better their lot while we continue to condone Wenger's experiment.
You dey mind them ? Injury-prone ko. I get sick everytime I hear . . . ."an injury-prone , 29 year old" . . . . . . . Who says he can't go another full season or 2 with no injuries and who says at 29 you're done and dusted. Some arsenal fans have a pathetic way of consoling themselves.

24 mill [pounds not dollars] for RVP is a steal especially with his Euro 2012 horror show shocked shocked shocked
Yeah he scored 37 goals last year but he's 29 years old now
He's not a Drogba who got better with age and had his ONLY injury free season last year
Cant you see Arsene alongside the board popping champagne? grin grin grin grin grin

Who will blame Theo or Song if they refuse to extend their contracts ?
