proudly9ja: I must confess, I never thought Jenkinson had it in him. There are players you watch and you say, this one has potential. Jenkinson was poor last season, he didn't seem to know anything about defending. BUT this season, the guy has shamed his no 1 critic -- moi! Hopefully he'l continue to improve
He was just suffering from top flight inexperience last season, not knowing when to push up or track back but he's definitely improved/improving. Sterling totally mesmerized Kolo Toure in the City game but small Jenks kept him @ bay and thwarted all the attacks from Montpelier in mid-week (they must have thought he would be the weak link in the defence and focused on his side).Sagna has to be consistently on top of his game to retain his spot. Talk about healthy competition. wink

proudly9ja: Hope Giroud plays against Coventry. He needs a goal badly. I'll be at the Emirates to cheer him and give him some much deserved goodluck! (not the Jonathan type!)
Giroud truly badly needs a goal, 'twill be nice to see him nick it in that game. I hope to see Arshavin in mid-week too, it's a shame he has become a permanent bench warmer; I know he still has some magic in him.

They never really had control of it.

The pattern at the Etihad Stadium was as follows: Arsenal pass, Arsenal press, Arsenal miss... City break.

ghettodreamz: I think it's a fair one, we need someone who is stronger and a sharp thinker at making fast decisions wit the ball better than him.
Even with the loss of Jonjo, I thought they were still solid in the middle and Sterling was always a threat on the flanks. Haven't seen much of that since he went off and the rate of creating chances has reduced.

Foreign AffairsRe: Tampa Vs Charlotte by KayDee4:
@JeS, Its not about Romney specifically and his glorious gaffes grin ; whether it is Newt or Santorum, the repubs are all the same. Whatever Mitt says or does is to a large extent, indicative of the party's ideology and plans as a whole (Let the rich get richer while the poor stays poor).

So the issue you have with Obama and the Dems is that of welfare? I don't support 100% free-loading by full-time freeloaders (ie: people who sit back, relax and wait for the freebies to land on their laps) but there are some hard-working people who genuinely need government help in one form or the other (healthcare, lower tuition or food stamps).
Either way, you can't run from parting with that part of your money because if it's not deducted from your paycheck as payroll tax for welfare or social security, you pay it in income tax (which the repubs plan to raise by the way) to service the deficit while the rich ones get cuts and pay far less. Unless of course, you're part of the 1% (who knows). cheesy
HealthRe: FRSC To Hospitals : Reject Accident Victims & Be Charged To Court by KayDee4:
I understand that hospitals are not charitable organizations or NGOs that give free treatment but how do you explain a situation where someone is rushed to the hospital for a gunshot wound and he is refused treatment because they need a police report first even when you know he is financially capable of paying his bills.
One hospital told a friend that it was a police law, they would be arrested if they treated without a report (I know they are dumb enough to come up with such a law) and I wonder why the doctor's union haven't thought of addressing it over the years.

Some years ago, my neighbor was hit by a stray bullet from a nearby robbery just in front of his house, he was rejected by the hospital he was taken to and had to go get a police report first before he got treatment. Thankfully it was the back of his shoulder and didn't pose any immediate threat to his life.

The story has been the same over the years, its always news in the papers; even more recently this May, Victor Uko bled for 5 hours and eventually died after he was rejected by a hospital for not having a police report. He wasn't too poor to pay his bills.

The doctors unions should bring up issues like this when they meet and agree with government on how to treat emergency accident cases and others.

CareerRe: Doing A Phd Is Often A Waste Of Time, Says The Economist by KayDee4: 8:03pm On Sep 22, 2012
Meanwhile, business leaders complain about shortages of high-level skills, suggesting PhDs are not teaching the right things.
I don't think a "shortage of high-level skills" indicates that Phds are ineffective learning programs. MSc holders are expected to be more technically skilled than Phds because of their inclinations. Phd programs are more research-based than MSc progs; companies understand this and that is why they employ Phds mostly into their research departments.
I agree with some of the writer's views and some comments here already:
- Some people are driven by circumstances to get a PhD (compelled against their wishes) .
- A lot of Phd students are dissatisfied and whine a lot lipsrsealed .
- Some people dive into the Phd adventure just to bag the degree for shoulder strutting undecided .
- Some people truly have a flair for research wink .

My conclusion, if you have time and passion for it or see it as a means to an end or your dream job (academia or industry), then it is NOT a waste of time.

HealthRe: FRSC To Hospitals : Reject Accident Victims & Be Charged To Court by KayDee4: 12:30pm On Sep 22, 2012
This should be extended beyond just accident victims to all emergency patients, armed robbery victims, etc.

Its ridiculous for hospitals to reject emergency patients or ask them to go get a lousy police report before treatment and I still don't understand why.

The EMTALA law should be introduced and enforced.

" . . . . . . . they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives ". - Romney talking about the so-called 47%.

Sounds like , "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do to help your sorry situation; if you're poor or less fortunate, you're on your own; I'm not even going to try and find a solution to your problems".

I still don't see why anyone who's not with the top 1 or 2 % would be interested in this guy. undecided undecided . The only way he stands a chance now is through fraudulent disenfranchisement which they have been plotting in various states.

Nah, for this movie, they don't owe them an apology, the movie is not a federal project. You can blame it on the constitution and the 1st amendment that gave the psycho producer rights of freedom of expression. How much oil does Syria have ? A few drops of oil doesn't catch America's interest to the point of waging a war.
