PREVIOUSLY ON “SHADOWCORP”:
AND NOW. . . Steven sat at the back of a black, unregistered Toyota Camry with James just beside him. Stella was in the driver seat, navigating through the deserted streets of Victoria Island. There hadn’t been a single word from Steven since he had interrupted James’ fun at the club. Although he was furious, James decided to wait and hear what Steven had to say. He knew Steven would speak as soon as he felt it was safe to. So untill then, James was ready to endure the silence on their trip to God knows where. As James sulked with his arms folded across his chest, Stella stole occasional glances at him from the rear view mirror. Each time she caught James’ gaze she let out a soft knowing smile. Thirty minutes later, Stella pulled up at the Lekki Private Beach. There were very few people on the beach, given the time that they had arrived. It was quite windy and the currents were strong. Leaving their footwear in the car, they got out and walked to a particular hut, just facing the raging waters. T B C.... |

Phew.... Dust Cobwebs, Cleans Window glasses, Sweeps the floor, And puts on the AC. *Adjusts the microphone* I know there is no one here. I am hoping gradually, i will get everyone back in. I have been through the jaws of the lion, the claws of the tiger and the eyes of a needle. A lot has happened to me, including job loss, shelter provision and a break in academic pursuits. But thanks to God, I am back on my feet. This place is gonna come alive sooner than you think. Don't blink. 2 Likes |

Properties / Re: Prince Ebeano Supermarket In Lekki On Fire by kayemjay(m): 7:46pm On Nov 03, 2015 |
I work at Christ Avenue. Ebeano Supermarket is almost just opposite. I left the office at 5:10 and driving past Ebeano, there was already some commotion. The smoke was already visible BUT THERE WAS NO REAL FIRE YET. Staff were running from the scene, some crying, others just looking. If measures had been taken when the first sign was detected, all this may have been averted. Just like many organisations have now embraced CCTV, why wasnt there a fire alarm system, smoke detector and sprinkler system installed? Couldnt that have reduced the devastating effect of this fire? Seeing these pictures, i am amazed the fire got this much. It was just smokes when i passed. I hope he has insurance though i doubt it. You know our igbo brothers. I pray he takes major steps in his other supermarkets scattered around lagos. What a loss. |

Thank you all. your testimony will come soon. Roseey0: I was on my way to my first interview when it began raining. I was given an appointment for 9am and I could not afford to 'chill' for the rain to subside, else I would get there very very late. So, yours truly was drenched. Luckily my bag was not (I protected it with my life because of my documents). Long story short, My Cv was a bit rumbled. So, imagine when i was asked to hand over my cv, and i began straightening the 'dog ears' and smoothening the paper. I caught the interviewer looking at me with a grimace. Spiral binding it made it cooler. And not everyone was doing it. It made it more difficult to discard and shred. It catches the attention faster than just sheets lying on the table. It takes effort to shred. And for me, most importantly, it gives an inkling to how detailed, presentable, and how prepared you were for the job. Just my two cents though. 12 Likes 1 Share |
Jobs/Vacancies / I Got A Job!!! by kayemjay(m): 7:00pm On Oct 23, 2015 |
Dear friends, It is not easy to be in the 'unemployed' market. I lost my job mid-september under very funny circumstances and without a penny. I became a regular to this section, applied for a number of jobs, and finally, exactly 27days later, I got a job although not from NL. Now, I want to encourage anyone who is still job hunting. YOU WILL GET YOUR JOB. However, you may need to do the following: 1. Draw Close to God (If you hadn't), and PRAY! 2. Have a killer Cover Letter and CV. 3. Packaging matters: My Cover Letter was one page and my CV, two pages. However, whenever I was dropping hardcopies, I made sure they were spiral bound and very impressive. Just three sheets, I know. But it was one of the reasons I got the job: An impressive presentation 4. Have mastery of your subject area 5. Be proactive 6. Talk to people 7. Think out of the box...I started my own company when I lost my job. Lol. Now I am running it while I work. Bottom Line: Whether as an employer or an employee, there is a job out there for you. Believe! 26 Likes 2 Shares |

Hey guys. I tried to post last night but I was banned by antispam. I am currently not with my laptop so I can not guarantee that I would be able to post today but I assure you that I will really try. PS: I sweat and toil, and amidst plagiarism and lack of appreciation, still make out time to post here for my fans to enjoy. I am not being paid for this neither do I get any form of compensation. I have a young family to look after, a very demanding job and a hectic schedule. So please, if you do not hear from me, kindly know that out of sight is NOT out of mind. Thank you. 3 Likes |

Good morning everyone. A very very big apology to all my fans, and readers for my prolonged absence. Circumstances beyond my control made it impossible for me to update this thread. I have two completed stories here and I will do justice to this one too. Updates today at 8pm. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hmmm... Good morning everyone. This is my first ever post here. It was interesting to note the dissing between LarrySun and Standd. It was also striking to see the other different players that came into the fray. I am not taking sides with anybody, but I feel like this has got to stop. Enough about this and let everyone just move on. Personally, I have had the pleasure cum displeasure of talking to those two people offline (before now) and I understand how these two people are. She doesn't care about you or who you are, then leave her be. He does not like her, he stated it. Whats all the hullabaloo for? Abeg e don do jare. This is Nairaland. Unless you do not have a life outside here, I do not see why we should keep letting E-matters be an issue. PS: I stated my opinion. No body should bother quoting me cos I will not acknowledge your mention, hence defeating the purpose of your quote. Save yourself the stress. |
