The Chief Executive Officer of Eden Lifestyle, Maje Ayida, (Toke Makinwa's fiance) was involved in a very ghastly accident yesterday but he miraculously survived!
He was on his way to oriental hotel to have lunch with his dad when a police escort jumped the "traffic lights" and crashed into his vehicle.
Maje says "Unreal, while thankful for my life, I am offended to my core by the attitude of the escort driver. U ALWAYS slow down at a junction...I know for a fact he was trying to catch up with the convoy he was in."

Today, Monday April 22, 2013 marks three whole years since Olaitan Oladapo Olaonipekun better known as Dagrin passed away.
How he died: Dagrin died at 6:00PM on Thursday, April 22 - exactly eight days after he was involved in a ghastly accident in front of Alakara Police station, off Agege motor road, Mushin, Lagos.
The late rapper’s car, a Nissan Maxima 2008 model ran into a parked lorry in front of Alakara Police station, Mushin. He was initially admitted at Tai Solarin Hospital, Mushin before he was transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi Araba where Doctors made serious efforts to save his life. He was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit and operated upon, and later moved to the private wing of the hospital where he died! Doctors at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital LUTH said he survived nine attacks before he finally gave up during the 10th attack. The nation was thrown into mourning; those who didn’t know the rapper Dagrin were forced to (Like me, I didn't know him till he passed on).
His early years:
He started rapping about the age of 14. Dagrin would be at every Hip-Hop show in Lagos, trying to get a three-minute spot on stage’.
Dagrin struggled for years, hopping from one studio to the other, in a quest to record a music album. It took a few years for the struggling act that had been desperately looking for financial support to seal a record deal. In 2006, he released his debut ‘Still on the Matter’ under LEO Entertainment which was mildly received...
His relationship with his Parents: Dagrin allegedly had a strained relationship with his father, Comrade Olaniyi Abolaji Olanipekun but he was very close with his mother Mrs Olanipekun.
His lovelife: Before his death, Dagrin had also broken ties with his girlfriend Chichi. The couple had dated for seven years but Chichi kept pressuring for more than a mere commitment, friends of the couple say. ‘Dagrin at that time wasn’t ready for marriage so he let her go’, online reports disclosed.
3years after his death:
Three years after, things seem to have changed, Dagrin’s death suddenly inspired a whole lot of rappers to hit the studio spitting in Yoruba language. Now we have the likes of Olamide, BaseOne, Tipsy, Jyhbo, Seriki obviously inspired by the general himself Barack O’grin.
The Dagrin Documentary:
In April 2012, Video director GINI released a documentary ‘Remembering Dagrin’, to mark the second anniversary of the rapper’s death. The one-hour plus clip featured never-before-seen clips and images of Dagrin. It also contained interviews with individuals that crossed the path of the young man and contributed to his rise to fame in the Nigerian music industry.
The one who received all the attention isn’t here to see it… Dagrin toiled and toiled, touched the tip of success and was going for the gusto only to lose it all in the most shocking of ways…

This is really embarrassing...little wonder why the yoruba movie industry is not moving forward like Nollywood #JustSaying.
Last Sunday at Adigbe in Abeokuta, Popular actor Odunlade Adekola and his team including Madam Saje (Fausat Balogun), Afeez Owo and others lodged in at a hotel, Hcord (not too far from one of the Moshood Abiola polytechnic hostels), to shoot a movie - however a fight ensued between the crew and the students of MAPOLY!
My source exclusively told me that everywhere was calm until the movie shoot began - the crew's generator was "allegedly" disturbing the peace of the neighbourhood!
Students in the hostel stepped out to appeal to the actor to switch off their noisy Generator which was disturbing them. (They were trying to study for their exams for the next morning).
However, instead of listening to them, Odunlade who felt insulted said
"E o le da mi duro (you can't stop me) eni ti baba e bah toh, ko wa le mi ni bi bayii (he whose father has the guts should come and stop me)."
And then, the students and the team began exchanging words and cussing.
A civil defendant while returning from work after having witnessed what happened decide to interfere and carry out his duty of restoring peace.
Since the students were all familiar with him in the area, they appealed to him to help talk to Odunlade while he calmed them down and made for his apartment.
However, another argument ensued between the students and Odunlade after about 5minutes so the civil servant (name withheld) stepped out to know what was happening and once again tried to restore peace...
This time, Madam Saje and Odunlade threatened to beat and detain the civil servant if he didn't shut up but hey he had to insist and protect the right of the students and and that was things kinda got out of hand!
Before he could say Jack, Odunlade had ordered his boys to beat him up...the thugs hit him with planks, sticks till he was beaten mercilessly...Afeez Owo, Fausat Balogun and two other artiste even joined the thugs in beating him....they left him with scars and continued with their movie shoot. This is really really bad, a whole actor stooping so low as to do that...
And to think that he recently welcomed a baby boy...smh!
I will bring you pictures and more details as soon as I can. The civil defendant has since reported the issue to the police custody and the case is presently being looked into!

On Nairaland, on the web, Mercy Aigbe pictures as much as the Google Search results for “Make Money Online”. The funny thing about Mercy Aigbe is that she can take hundred pictures of the same cloth at the same time on the same spot. Then came the issue of husband beating and the denials and video responses and press releases and ENOUGH of Mercy Aigbe already.


3. Dencia

Who is Dencia? I dunno. A musician who’s in love with her own looks. She loves to pose. She loves wild dresses. She loves to wow. I see pictures of her all over the internet. I think her face is more popular than her voice. I haven’t heard her song before but I heard she’s into music. You think i’m ridiculous. You can say it again.

4. Toke Makinwa

Toke Makinwa, a lady fair and fine. Toke is always on the news. On the red carpets. On her vlog which is becoming more widely accepted. On-air. Toke is practically in your ears, in your face… in your mouth. I believe she enjoys the media attention.


5. Annie Idibia

Annie has always been on the eye of bloggers, but ever since her traditional marriage to Tuface Idibia, she’s been kept even under more scrutiny by the press. Formerly fairly known as the Tiwa Savage’s manager, the tall dark dude has become more exposed than he should ever since he proposed to the “Love me Love me” crooner. Insiders just disclosed to societynowng that the marriage of Nigerian international footballer, Osaze Odemwingie is troubled.

And the reason being bandied bothers on the lucre- but the effect is apparent.

Sources claimed family members in concert with some friends are of the conviction 'marriage is having an adverse effect on his career.

The West Brom Albion striker got married to his wife, Sarah Fallon on 26 May 2012- after two years of dating. Since then, he has embraced behaviour that transformed his blossoming career downhill.

He engaged authorities of the nation's football governing body- Nigerian Football Federation and national team coach in a manner that attracted wide spread condemnation and got him sidelined.

The former Locomotiv Moscow star went on to engage club authorities in similar manner, to the extent of single handedly trying to switch to another club. The move earned him wide spread jeers and ridicule. It also forced him out of team play and reduced him to the status of 'training material'

Information made available to societynowng revealed promoters of the campaign 'marriage is having an adverse effect on him' have totalled all the incidents and believe their is something about the matrimony making him to behave out of line.

This video made me cry , *wipes face*, Denrele said virtually everything - from her foray into music, her relationship with Prezzo, her relationship with Andre, her husband and the tribute he (Denrele) gave at the end - it was so emotional.

The Bella naija readers were actually fair but the Linda Ikeji blog readers were not fair oh - come to think of it, I have noticed that peeps that read Bella Naija are actually more sophisticated than Libers - their comments are usually well constructed #justsaying.

You all should know what inspired this write up. I saw a comment about the newest celebrity dad, it read "All you celebrities should wife your women and stop having babies outside wedlock!"
What do you think about that statement? It seems like Nigerians are embracing the system of having children outside wedlock; if it is more convenient, i don't know.
Some celebrities have been with the same person for years now, still they haven't tied the knot. Is it the fear of being stuck with some one for ever or just plain cold feet. Thank God the king of this trend got married of recent. Female celebrities are not exempted from this. Gone are the days when the society frowned at such things. Now we have women having babies and keeping the father's identity hidden.
