Worse than today's loss is the FACT that Sagna will be out for 3 months at least. shocked sad

I'd liike to know though, when was the last time Arsenal had their 1st eleven on the pitch? As in seriously.

coogar:
modric did well considering the useless tactics redknapp deployed.

modric and parker were outnumbered by arsenal's 3 central midfielders. bale was out wide and van der vaart on the flank never even bothered to do any sort of tracking or tackling. see song's goal-assist as reference. but even with that, opta is telling me modric created 2 attempts, had 3 scoring attempts of his own, and won 3/5 tackles. he worked harder than all arsenal midfielders despite being outnumbered!
Bleep stats.Even an extremely clueless Ramsey was stated to have over 80% successful pass.Modric was ordinary in today's game. And your excuse about him been outdated is ludricous too.Ramsey was neither here nor there and was "absent" from the middle of the pack for most part.

You want to talk about a gem in the midfield today?Talk about Coquelin. cool
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by kaypumpin2(m): 7:34pm On Oct 02, 2011
Yea right, stats will prove Modric had gazillion passes(or is it key passes now),same way stats exonerated Denilson till he was shipped off.But if Modric can not boss a midfield of dire Ramsey and less-inspiring Arteta, then there's no way he should be called world class.

Proudly, not confirmed yet but it seems Sagna's done his ankle/fibula.

@Starboard
But it will still be called a derby even if we play in the conference league next year.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by kaypumpin2(m): 9:42pm On Sep 28, 2011
Good victory going into the North London Derby.Man of the match for me has to be Song.Cool,calm,well-timed tackles and great passes(he's improved greatly in passed taken with left foot).

Those comparing Ox to Walcott are doing great injustice to the two players though. They are two different type of players with different type of approach to the game. While Walcott prefers passes into space,Ox loves the ball at his feet.He can spray 'em passes too.

Arshavin and Rosicky were both as useful as Tevez to City yesterday while Arteta plays like he's been with the team for eons.

I have to say though, how did we keep Chamakh and send Bendtner out?

And yipeee,we won because Rice was on his feet for most part and shouted himself hoarse. grin grin

HNIC:
Gervinho injured?
What happened?
Gervinho and Kos played with a little discomfort on Saturday.Gerv kept on rubbing his hamstring and Kos' was obvious anytime he made a tackle. It means we will miss the service of Song in the middle with either Frimpong or Coq to come into the DM role.

Park and Arshavin should complete the front 3.

Nothing that this trophylessness wouldn't bring out though,it's no longer about tactical nous but raging like a bull at your players  undecided Oh well.

It used to be the players were too soft, enough red cards down the lane and that's no longer the mantra. It's gotten so bad Myles even highlighted Chamakh throwing on the turf the captain's band for Rosicky to pick.Heck,he claimed Wenger only jubilated Song's goal. grin  grin

Apart from Mou though,i barely know any coach who castigates his players on the pages of newspaper.

Congratulations to RVP on his 100th goal as an Arsenal player.A bit of a stat to chew on:

RVP:100 goals,71 left foot,23 right foot,6 headers,12 outside the box,88 inside,12 penalities
You just have to agree it could have been more but if his career hasn't been injury-ridden.

Oh no,someone's kidnapped the real Djorou who displayed solid defensive capabilities some part of last season and replaced him with a spastic lemming.

My gut feeling tells me Ibimess and his Niger-Delta brothers have a hand in it.

Damn, dude's so bad i think he should be sent to Adam's Azerbaijan team.Maybe, just maybe he will find a bit of form.

Kanu's miss was at Westbrom i think.Rosicky's at Arsenal during a UCL match was unpardonable too. These misses happen in football, the hacks are only on Torress' back because of his price tag.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by kaypumpin2(m): 9:06pm On Sep 18, 2011
@Nateev

There are worse Brazillians.Denilson and Rochemback to mention a few.And didn't LucaS start on a bad note for the scousers?

I still don't see what the complain is about Ramires,he puts in a good shift and will play better as a 'carrier' in 3 man midfield that has a creative spear-head and a sitting DM.He's got the energy to burn.Chelsea's midfield just needs to settle on a style and AVB needs to carve one immediately.

As per Mata,Rosicky was deployed away from his central position most times for Arsenal and he was quite efficient and effective till his long lay off, that doesn't make him a winger.Mata will do a good job as a creative midfielder. He's got thee vision and acumen to do it.It's obvious.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by kaypumpin2(m): 8:30pm On Sep 18, 2011

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by kaypumpin2(m): 7:51pm On Sep 18, 2011
One question though, when Lampard was on in the 1st half, why was he playing so deep to the point Ramires was always ahead of him for every break?

Also why can't Boas see that a Ramires/Mikel/Mereiles playing deep and Mata(in a Cesc role for Arsenal)playing at the tip of the midfield is the way to go?Lampard's career is so yesterday, even a football neophyte knows that.

StarBoard:
i've never doubted bMata's quality, but i think he needed sharp instinctive strikers.Torres' confidence will be shot to oieces after tonight. That leaves Sturridge but Villas-Boas prefers him out wide.
Fellows like Malouda,Lampard dont seem to have anything more to give.
Yeah they played well, but so did we.Nani,Rooney,Young and Hernandez prized them apart with their running.
The game was open and free-flowing,something you don't associate with Chelsea normally,up until Ashley Young reminded us about how dirty he is.
For that,I give Chelsea tonnes of credit. Can they adapt and play like that all season?Remains to be seen.
With Boash's introduction of the high line defence, and with players like Terry in the fray,Chelsea will be diced and cut open easily this season by any decent team.To make it worse,he'd play Lampard and deployed Miereles wrongfully in the middle. The match could have ended 10-5 had Torress not extended his luck(or lack of it) to the players in red.

All these talk about Torres being good is crap.
He scored a classy goal and then had the worst miss in history.

Torres should be playing the last 15mins only.
Play Sturridge upfront and allow Mata and Anelka support.
Toress is world class.I agree it is the worst miss in Chelsea's 8-year history but his contributions today, bar the miss was immense.

He will come good.

All I am saying is that was largely due to the fact he was made to look good.
Then we can conclude every MoTM performer's made to look good by a lethargic opponent. undecided Nani as a player never seem to get his due credit. His assists and involvement in everything Utd is top drawer.

A stat to bite on:

First 100 EPL games for Cr7:19 goals 12 assists. Nani:19 goals 33 assists.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by kaypumpin2(m): 6:07pm On Sep 18, 2011
We may never see that Torress' miss again even if the world fails to come to an end.The difficult part was done but. . .wtf.But dude was lively all through.Another goal and his confidence will be restored.Ramires' miss earlier embarassed

Must say the game was very open, could have ended 10-5 if both teams came into the game with their scoring boots.

Lukaku though,he has the dribbling skill of a pregnant python and the aerial threat of a sitting-Drogba. tongue grin

Superb goal from Chamakh which is y ive belived the cat is underused
Use a proper winger and He will score goals

His aerial ability is maximally underutilised in arsenal
If Chamakh was in Aston Villa when they Downing,Young and Albrighton who are good crossers of the ball,he will be pumping reasonable amount of goals.Doesn't change the fact he's been useless since RVP came back though.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by kaypumpin2(m): 2:53pm On Sep 17, 2011
It is obvious now that we may buy the best defenders in the world,it will never change the fact that our defensive organization is the worst in the top 10 epl.

Watching Kos and Per today,i can't but wish there's a team we can "defile" our season till the club from the board, coaching crew and on-field personnels' over-hauled.

Pathetic.

Almost, almost +3pts

We defended well as a team but I noticed we still have some of the usual Arsenal tendency of some players (like Song) trying to dribble their way out of defense instead of passing the ball or kicking it away.
In fairness to Song, for most part he was trying to draw fouls.90% of the time the ball was hoofed out because of safety,we instantly come back under immense attacking threat from the Germans.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by kaypumpin2(m): 9:53pm On Sep 13, 2011
Sczeny,Song and Kos were stand out players in a game that we were mostly on our back heels.

The midfield was bleh again.Like i said,i hope Wilshere makes a quick come back as he's the only one in this team that craves creativity badly.Benayoun, apart from tracking back and helping out defensively was clueless for most offensively.

And that Walcott's pass for the goal,CLASS.Similar to Cesc's pass to him for our goal against the Chavs last season.

Lastly,if BVB can win the Borethemliga,Blackburn will be copping one every 3 yrs. tongue grin
