I don't know if this information would be useful to anyone here. I relocated to the UK in 2023. My last US visa expired in March 2024; it was issued in Lagos in 2022. At a point, I was considering visiting Nigeria for renewal through the Dropbox, but I never had enough time to make the trip. So, I decided to make a new application for the renewal here in the UK and go for the interview. Surprisingly, when I was making the appointment for interview, the system informed me that I qualified for interview waiver and I should send my passport through courier, which I did. M visa was approved, and I got my 5 years validity. |
Good evening great people, I got my PPR for a visitor's visa on June 7th 2023 and the letter stated that passport must be submitted within 30 days for visa stamping. However, between then and now, I have just relocated to the UK with my family, and the 30 days have already elapsed. How do I get across to IRCC with an explanation of my circumstances? Will they issue me another PPR? Please anyone who has experienced this before should help me with a guidance on how to go about this. Thank you |
Good morning people, Please I need help. I have my valid US visa and I have also been able to schedule visa interview appointment for my madam and kids. However, I have not been able to successfully login to the US visa interview portal as I kept getting the below error message (attached) I have sent mail to them and after few days they said that it has been resolved but the situation still persists. I need to gain access to my family's profile so that I can update the form DS-160 |
Kayraph:Back to the US again! Flew in using Egypt Air, landed at IAD Lagos to Cairo 5hrs 30mins…Cairo to Washington DC 11hrs 30mins POE was a breeze! Me: “Good morning sir” Officer: “Morning sir. Please pass your passport to me. Could you please remove your cap?” Me: Quickly removed my Panama cap. Officer: “Do you have any liquor in your bag?” Me: “Not at all” Officer: “You can go ahead.” Returned my passport to me. Now the holiday begins!!! |
@giselle237 Please do you have any tips and tricks for a non-medical professional that one could apply to land a Tier 2 sponsored job in the UK? I believe it's a little bit challenging applying for such from Nigeria. Your ideas and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Alexandre7:I love that airport...maybe I'm gonna use it again when I visit the US...@Seyewest, what do you think? |
seyewest:The bolded was exactly my thought! |
UmmZayd:I was almost thinking of using Egypt Air on my next trip to the US until you mention the tight legroom.... ![]() The layover (2 hours) and the flight time from Cairo to IAD (11 hours) are still fairer than that of Emirates, we flew about 14 hours from DXB to IAD. Anyways, I'm sure that my traveling agent is observing proceedings here and we should be able to cook something delicious together when next I want to travel. Hope you are enjoying your stay in the US. |
seyewest:Many thanks to you, my brother. Your efforts and assistance from Lagos to Abuja to Dubai and finally to Washington DC are much appreciated. By the way, it's 6:35am now and the weather is 2 degrees....cold yaff kee me here! |

My POE experience was at Washington Dulles International Airport on December 13 2019. I came in through Emirates and the flight was quite smooth, we did about 14 hours 30 minutes from DXB to IAD and arrived at 7:50am. I was on queue for like an hour before I was called and this was the following conversation/interview. CBP: Good morning, wetin dey shele? Make I see your passport Me: Good morning, I dey kampe. How you dey too? (While giving her my Naija passport) CBP: I full ground remain, o she. Oga Ade, wetin you come do for here? Me: I say make I come do Christmas vacation here ni CBP: How long you go stay? Me: Just two weeks kpere CBP: How much you get for your pocket? Me: XXXX USD CBP: Where you go spend the two weeks na? Me: Na for Washington DC here o CBP: Shey you get family, relatives or friends here? Me: Mba o. Only people wey we go school together and I nor think say I go see them sef. CBP: Oh okay .. How many bags you carry come? Me: I get this one hand luggage and two other bags waiting for me inside CBP: Wetin you get to declare? Fruits and Veg? Me: No CBP: Any food item like meat etc Me: I get ponmo for inside my bag CBP: Wetin be ponmo (she called the ponmo in their accent) Me: Na cowskin CBP: Oya spell am Me: PONMO (She now pronounced it again). For my mind, I say shey na like that I call am for you ni Na there things come change a little bit, I observed that a lady standing behind her was taking notes from the screen. In my mind, I say ghen ghen! CBP: She now wrote on a form, put am inside my passport and then put all of them inside a small case. She then beckoned on one of their officials. CBP: Ok, you go follow this man, dem wan ask you something. Na so I found myself for secondary inspection ooo. Some minutes later dem don carry my bags come meet me there. So I waited for the next thing to happen. Meanwhile, I could hear Emirates airline calling for departure, na so one woman entered and asked us "How many of una follow Emirates come?". Myself and one old white woman answered her, she said "Shey dis people don answer you?" We said "Mba o". She come say make we wait small. 2CBP: Called out my name Me: I dey here o 2CBP: Wey your bags Me: Dem dey there 2CBP: Oya go carry them come Me: I come bring the bags 2CBP: Wetin you say you get for inside the bags jare Me: Na ponmo and some local herbs like that 2CBP: Are they dried? Me: Yes na 2CBP: Oya put your bags on the screening machine make I see Me: Did as he said 2CBP: Removed knife and carefully opened the bag, checked everything and brought out the kpomo 2CBP: If to say you nor mention say you carry kpomo and we discover it ourselves, we for fine you USD300. Oya pack your bags, I'm bringing your passport and you are good to go. That was when my mind came down, I submitted the form to the officer outside the secondary inspection and the next thing I heard was "Welcome to the United States of America" Na so I waka enter God's own country oooo. The cold wey welcome me na die but I'm enjoying every bit of time I've spent here so far! |

ANAKONDA:Oga Ade, if you are truly a CCC member you would know that those two people up there are not CCC members. They are likely to be C & S or Aladura members. I'm not a member of any white garment church, neither do I have anything against them though. |
Zimbabwe President, Robert Gabriel Mugabe has today broken news which came as a surprise to many Zimbabweans and the entire people of Africa, in fact the world as a whole. Mugabe, 92 years, who has served the people of Zimbabwe for close to 30 years has today stepped down from the presidency seat. According to Mugabe’s personal assistant, the decision to step down came as a result of him (Robert Mugabe) wanting to spend quality time with his grandchildren. “We knew the decision will surprise most people in Africa and Europe but this is what Mugabe wants now. You see, he is growing and now wants to spend some time with his family’’ the personal assistant said. Again the personal assistant disclosed that Robert Mugabe will also host the entire people of Zimbabwe for a dinner night as an appreciation. “As a way of Mugabe saying thank you to the people of Zimbabwe for being there for him throughout his rule, he would be organizing a dinner for the entire people of Zimbabwe on a date yet to be communicated.’’ http://pressgh.com/breaking-robert-mugabe-steps-down-as-president/ |

A Thai man is recovering in hospital after being attacked by a nine-foot (three metres) python while sitting on the toilet. Attaporn Boonmakchuay suffered a three-inch (eight cm) wound after being bit on the penis by the snake which had crawled up through the plumbing. The excruciating ordeal lasted half an hour before he managed to prise open the snake's jaws and escape. Mr Boonmakchuay described how he fought the snake as his wife sought help but, even after a neighbour came to his aid with a knife and rope, he only managed to free himself only when the python momentarily lost its strength. Doctors said the victim's injuries could have been worse He said: "All of a sudden, while I was holding it, it began to lose some strength so I used my hand to prise open its mouth. Then the snake released its grip by itself." The 38-year-old needed stitches but medical staff say that he should make a full recovery. A doctor from the Chachoengsao hospital, near Bangkok, said that victim was "lucky", adding: "if the bite had gone into the urinary tract it would have been a big problem." Rescue workers managed to eventually release the snake after using hammers to free it from the toilet. Large snakes are common even in urban areas of Thailand, particularly during the onset of the rainy season when they leave flooded areas for drier ground. http://news.sky.com/story/1702394/man-bitten-by-nine-foot-python-while-on-toilet |
