What are you trying to say? Did you get an invitation to interview or some people told you they got invited?

I challenge you to post the details of your 'invitation' here.

You obviously do not know what you are saying grin house prices in Ibadan has gone up. Go to old Bodija, new Bodija, akobo and find out how much peeps are paying.

Bolade area, Ibadan - 3bedroom flat is going for 250k. And this is not even a new property oh grin

My nephew attends one of the unis in Ibadan and I was told that's what he pays as rent.
Are you guys blind or what?

The guy mentioned 'a room' which costs N50k per month and I took him up on that.

Can't you differentiate between a room and a house?

Even here in Lagos where I live, there's nowhere you will be asked to pay N50k monthly for just 'a room'.

Why don't you patiently read my post before passing your comments.

No wonder students of nowadays find it hard to comprehend English language effectively.

I won't comment further on this after this.

Cheers

oga Kraph, don't say that ooo.. I was born in ibadan, schooled here in ibadan, still living in ibadan... Forget ibadan that you stayed sometimes back oooo.. If you want a house of 1million per annum, I will take you there, it is in Iyanganku G. R. A., At Alalubosa G. R. A, I know of 700k per annum. here in Oluyole that I stay, a stone throw to my crib, there is one of 650k per annum... So you are stale ooooo when it comes to properties in Ibadan.
Ki la n wi, ki lo n so? A n wi iru, o n wi iru!

The guy was talking about 'a room', you were talking about 'a house', where's the correlation?

Kindly read my post well for better comprehension before you become 'stale'

Rent always depend on class anywhere you go to in Ibadan...

If you want a single room of 1k per month you will find and if you want a room of 50k per month you will get...same as shop space but ibadan is relatively cheap and there are lots of places you can get shops to advertise your wares...

Try and enter town and stay with someone for lets say 2 weeks and have the person take you around town showing you markets, estates, corners and open places and you decide if you want to setup your shop in d lousy markets,The semi lousy, the mild but crowdy, the mall or just in front of your apartment.

Good luck..

PS...Ibadan is peaceful though and if you are the one who is always satisfied with little or Gods blessing, you will be satisfied with Ibadan without issues.
Oga Ade, sofri sofri na, u can exaggerate sha!

I was born and raised in Ibadan, now living in Lagos but still visit Ibadan frequently. To date, I can boldly say that there's nowhere in Ibadan that a room would go as high as N50k per month (N600k p.a.?). Not even the highbrow area like Bodija.

You made valid points on the other issues but your analysis of rentage is way off point. Don't scare off the OP with that information.

Cheers

@LadyG, can you imagine, the man even said that he works in a University. These are the kind of people who are doing fake admissions and fraudulent results all over the place.

I always ask myself, does it mean that some people have lost hope in themselves whereby they have the mindset that they can never make it in this country?

Traveling abroad by all means possible has become the other of the day...

Anyway, the VO has told him the implication of his 'illegal' intents. I'm sure that the guy will still go ahead sha.
TravelRe: Us Embassy A Profit Making Organization by Kayraph(m): 3:33pm On Aug 17, 2015
@OP, I don't agree with you on this.

If you have been to the US Embassy before for an interview, you would have clearly seen that some people do not qualify for the visa.

In other cases, some people would have filled their forms wrongly and as such when they get to the interview they will be speaking gibberish.

Most time, people engage the services of agents in applying for the visa!

In these cases what do you expect the embassy to do? Do you want them to start refunding visa fees to people whose visa application got denied?

It is your duty to convince the visa officer whether you qualify for the visa or not.

I rest my case!
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by Kayraph(m): 2:51pm On Aug 09, 2015
@LadyG, I think the best thing for you to do is to switch over to ghost mode on this thread.

Those of us who have benefited from the advice yourself, tzetzefly and at the initial stage, suxes2000 posted here can attest to the fact that you guys are merely extending helping hands to people who need it.

Some people here already has the mindset of following fraudulent means in their visa application and I'm sure that they will get their disappointment at the embassy.

I have been there before and got my visa, those VOs are professionals and they quite know when someone is lying or trying to play smart.

Those of you who would come after me cos of this post, please don't bother cos I won't dignify you with any response.

I rest my case!

VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning
VO: You are going to Las Vegas, Nevada

VO: You are going for the Accountant's Conference
ME: Yes
VO: Are you an Accountant?
ME: Yes, I'm an Accountant
VO: Which school did you graduate from?
ME: xxxxxxxx
VO: You work with xx xx xx xx
ME: Yes
VO: How long have you been working with the company?
ME: About a year
VO: Before then you worked with..... (he left the statement hanging)
ME: xx xx xx xx (I finished it for him)
VO: Ok. That company does not sound familiar. What are they into?
ME: The company is Spanish - owned with the head office based in Barcelona, Spain.
VO: Oh ok! And before then you worked with a food company?
ME: Yes (I mentioned the name of that company where I worked for about 3 years, which you and I know is the biggest in Noodles manufacturing)
VO: Ok, that's correct.
VO: Are you married?
ME: Yes
VO: Do you have kids?
ME: Yes
VO: How many?
ME: (mentioned the number and sex)
VO: Ok, that's good
VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before? (Checked through my passport)
ME: Yes. South Africa
VO: cuts in.....ok, I can see it here
VO: What did you go to do in South Africa?
ME: I was at our company's head office in Cape Town for an official training.
VO: Ok, that's alright.
VO: Congratulations! Your visa has been approved! It will be ready for pick up next week. (Picked up the white sheet and circled the address)
ME: (Trying not to betray emotions) Thank you!

When I got outside, I let out a deep sigh of relief and thanked God for the favour.

I observed that all the questions asked were taken from the information filled on the application form which he was seeing on his computer. I can attest to the fact that the VOs are all professionals and I don't think they deny people needlessly. If you have a genuine reason to be in the US, you have home ties and travel history you stand a great chance of getting the visa.

Above all, I give God all the glory for His mercy and favour which gave me the success!

If you don't say tourism then you must tell a lie. Then maintain that lie forever.
Only you can state a valid reason for abandoning your family.
Prehaps something like " I can't afford to pay for them!"
Again truth or lie?
The more lies then the more difficult it is to remember the story.
Thank you for your response.

However, without sounding boastful, at my level I don't need to lie to get a US visa. The reason for not going with my family is just as you have rightly stated "I can't afford to pay for their trip at the moment"

I have a good job with good pay and high degree of security which I can't abandon and abscond.

I would appreciate more responses.

I intend visiting the US in October. I'm married with kids but I would be travelling alone. The only travel history was an official trip to South Africa for training.

My question is....should I tell the VO that I'm going for tourism (which is actually the purpose). I've learnt from this thread that they see vacation as a family thing.

Also, what would be a valid response to the question of why I am not travelling with my family.

Thank you.

superchi:
Hello everyone,

I just got a Canadian visa today for me, my wife and daughter. And it took less three weeks!
I filled and printed form, then got it sign and straight to VFS Canada Visa center. I applied for the purpose of a tourist.
We really didn't have plenty money but we had enough to cover the trip. We had just N1.5million in our bank statement.
But before I applied I didn't a small research here just to know people's experience. You just need deligence.
See my package documentation:

1. Hotel reservation (used my GTBank mastercard)
2. Statement of acct.
3. Marriage cert.
4. Fixed investment letter
5. Daughter's birth cert.
6. Travel plan: my itinerary (tourist attractions I intend to visit) and breakdown of expense (cost of flight, taxi, local transport etc)
7. Employment letter
6. Copy of Annual leave approval
7. Work ID.
8. ...of course two passport photo! THAT'S ALL!

I let them know I don't have anyone in Canada and I intend to go with my wife and kids. No invitation, so the hotel.
Well, how did I convince them I'll return to Nigeria? I really can't tell. I suspect it's our travel history, been to the US, UK and Switzerland. Still, I'm not too sure. One thing I did was being very meticulous in arranging the above docs.
Multiple entry for one year. That's not bad.
Wish you luck.
Hello Superchi,

Please could you share with me a template for the below:

Thank you.
